  • excellent

  • I bet he was thinking more along the lines of "damn this song is ridiculously awesome, good thing I'm nailing it" than "I probably shouldn't climb into this ceiling, it doesn't look too stable".

  • I was there and this was awesome

  • 2:09 TOO fucking epic!

  • this is too awesome for a normal comment.

  • amazing band

  • hands up if yannis sent you here

  • I seen a guy fall through a t-bar ceiling like that once, he caught his face on some metal and ripped his whole cheek off. Doctors used skin from his ass to try and patch him back together . That was really stupid of this guitar player, he's not exactly the brightest bulb in the fixture thats for sure. Looked like it was a pretty good show though .

  • guitar crossbones @4:05.

no one can touch mitch cheney. infinite badass, guitar-wise and otherwise.

  • searched mathrock on wiki, found this band, pretty cool! nice video, also, ... did he break your camera??? haha :<

  • love this

  • This isn't really my cup of tea, but these are some damn talented musicians!

  • This is one of my favorite sets ever. I always loved seeing this band.

  • i think i saw this band at the majestic in detroit years ago? maybe im wrong.

  • Never thought i'd ever feel overwhelmingly lucky to have seen these guys live twice, but I AM. So much. Tremendous band. Can't believe this is the only live clip on Youtube. THANKS FOR POSTING!

  • i have butterflies in my stomach

  • only blacks like this

  • That's how you end a song!

  • Daly

    Daly!

  • ahahahahaahahahahaha xD

is amazing, that´s a show xD

    wahooooooooo!!!!!!!

  • how can be a man so dumb to climb that ceiling!

  • HAHAHAHAHA WHAT A MESS!

  • fantastic

  • it was very rad of him to do so for our entertainment.

  • @gittty I was there and I was sure he'd break someone's head open with that guitar when he fell. It was actually pretty dangerous to the fans in the front....less entertaining.

  • @Madisonmofo Rock and roll is dangerous music. If you're too scared stay home.

  • @gittty Umm. Ok. I guess I will...Stay home because of the....Danger.

  • @Madisonmofo well maybe they shouldn't have been standing directly underneath him

  • suck a deep fried cock so you have a hear attack after

try playing music once in your life

  • nobody needs your opinion because it sucks

  • @pyroburnturhousedown just a gaggle of fruits, tootin'. why you gotta hate?

  • @pyroburnturhousedown really?? really? you listen to this and you say that? wtf?

  • @pyroburnturhousedown yeah dude. go listen to some journey or some shit

  • Everyone who is talking about genre and key changes and 90s hardcore should just shut up.

  • seriously.

  • steve sostack still in peru?

  • hes in malaysia.

  • God I love this band.

  • Amazing! This is one of the coolest videos I have ever seen. Oh and I don't know if this is what I would call math. Sure they have some interesting rhythms here and there but isn't that like a prerequisite for all 90's hardcore? Not that this is hardcore of course but i think it would take a lot for a band to be considered math

  • actually the key changes alone do it. after that it's a matter of subgenera

  • holy shit!

  • For everyone's info, this was not a band that used drugs.

  • What does that have to do with anything?

  • sweep the leg johnny is one of my favorite bands. the stage antics of the lead guitarist are a bit over the top but it's great music.

    thanks for posting the video.

  • That was a fun weekend. I wish I had gotten this close for their set. Once I told Mitch (guitar stage left) that if I were dying of cancer and had one wish it would be for Sick Room Records to press the live Rumah Sakit/Sweep the Leg album on vinyl. Now THATS a good live recording.

  • Nothing like math-rock to divide opinions, huh?

    Awesome stuff, in my opinion.

  • What the hell was that?

  • Serious business!

  • fuckin' amazing. anyone that says their shit are fools.

just wished they'd come back and do a gig in london!

  • Get 'em Art!!!

  • hahhahaha!!!! Great vid, man. This track is my fav from sto-cazo. thx

  • don't worry sweep fans, this guy was probably looking for that awful No more kings song, found this, and had his mind blown by the brilliance of this performance.

  • ahaha, nicely put. Sweeps are and forever will remain my favorite band. too bad there are no other live videos of them up on youtube :(

  • I think they are amazing. they are one of my favorite math rock bands

  • no actually, you or whoever you are obviously has no taste... sorry...

  • I must admit I don't think they are very good. It is actually annoying.

  • wank

  • Oh, and, they played a reunion show not to far back in Milwaukee at the Cactus Club.

    It was the best.

  • One of the best fucking bands ever.

  • lol sorry when i say cuzns band i meant No more kings

  • I think you guys are great. thats my cuzns band, and i think did a good job with it.

  • on YouTube, every band is "my cuzns band"

  • Haha I remember this. I miss Michiganfest.

  • Pure Greatnesss....

    Where are these guys now?

  • they split up a while back i think

shame, because they were a great band but not a lot of people had their music

  • AHHH!!!! I LOVE THIS!!! :-) I was there and I have to respond again because I am so glad this is posted and it is incredibly sweet!!!! rock on!

  • i saw them live.. it was unforgettable. it was a very small space so they actually stood in a circle looking at each other and STILL went psycho jumping all over. they were unlike any band i've ever heard. i wonder how many drugs they were on to make songs like this. omg he fell out of the ceiling.. lol

  • this band is fucking godly. he fell out of the ceiling and kept playing. thats insane.

  • Comment removed

  • wow. thats a hell of a statement. thank you, thank you for your service.

  • i was fortunate enough to play with sweep a bunch in california when i was with radar and steve sostak is a brilliant artist and a wonderful human being. sweep is amazing and i still have my sweep allstars shirt. this is after they got the guy from the swing kids on bass and the 2nd guit. our pickle patch show together was the best night of my life, musically.

  • hi brandon.

  • hi benicio

  • i believe this was the last year for michigan fest... at least with the original promoters.

1999 and 2000 were better years... but 2002 was still a lot of fun.

  • i remember i was outside during most of their set.......i regret that now.

  • This is my favourite video of a band on this internet. Thank you for posting it. This band was king.

  • hey, did they always have marlon brando on 2nd guitar?

  • no - they had actually just added him that year.

  • they're fucking insane

  • I was there...I don't know what that dude was thinking...I bet the Knights of Columbus were pissed....That makes me smile i guess.

  • wasn;t this at detroit fest?

  • wow. i heard about this happening but i could never believe it just because it was described as being so savage. thanks for this, though. one of my favorite bands ever. i saw these guys play in lubbock, tx at a tiny record store to like ten people and it still sticks out in my mind as one of the most intense shows i've ever been to. i'd give my left nut for a full show video of these guys.

  • fuking nice:)

  • I was there and I SAW this!!! Totally awesome!!

  • one of the best live bands ive ever seen

  • great band

  • with hoover just one of my favorite band ever,
