The Necronomicon is real as far as I know. My 8th grade English teacher had a copy of it locked in a display case in the classroom, but it could be fake for all I know
People, H.P. Lovecraft DID NOT make up the necronomicon; not that I'm following the religon just stop saying things about H.P. Lovecraft he only used the characters.
@crazymanma123 Umm mate yeah he did make it up, its all fiction, he came up with the name and eveything. He did mention one time of making a copy of his made up book as a hoax to try and trick people but he never got around to it. Maybe thats where your getting confused
@crazymanma123 No he invented the whole book, its not real at all. Other authors have taken his ideas and created books of fiction based on his ideas and called it the Necronomican but the actual book with all its supposed evil and taint, and its refrences to old gods is nor real or ever will be
@serventaprime no that's not how it worked H.P. Lovecraft helped create the book and everyone knows its not real but H.P. Lovecraft hep create the book and other random people didn't join in it was people who he knew and they worked together to make the book
@crazymanma123 No People he knew helped create the Cthulhu Mythos, which is the fictional universe he based his stories in. He never wrote the book and it is not real
@serventaprime I am just going to ignore you now because your not giving any evidence to your claims and you just keep saying the same thing over and over again like I didn't hear you the first time
@crazymanma123 Ok fine but (a) You never asked for any evidence and (b) have not provided any evidence yourself, so if you want evidence I can give you heaps
I can give quotes, websites anything you name or ask, check out the H.P Lovecraft archives, it is very accurate and well maintained. I can give you quotes and refrences if you want them just ask. Can you do the same with your claims?
@serventaprime According to Lovecraft's "History of the Necronomicon", copies of the original Necronomicon were held by only five institutions: The British Museum, The Bibliothèque nationale de France, Widener Library of Harvard University in Cambridge, Massachusetts, The University of Buenos Aires, The library of the fictional Miskatonic University in the also fictitious Arkham, Massachusetts, so if according to H.P. Lovecraft the Necrnomicon is real why would you say its fake.
@crazymanma123 Now about the "terrible and forbidden books” — I am forced to say that most of them are purely imaginary. There never was any Abdul Alhazred or Necronomicon, for I invented these names myself. Robert Bloch devised the idea of Ludvig Prinn and his De Vermis Mysteriis, while the Book of Eibon is an invention of Clark Ashton Smith's. Robert E. Howard is responsible for Friedrich von Junzt and his
@serventaprime Unaussprechlichen Kulten.... As for seriously-written books on dark, occult, and supernatural themes — in all truth they don’t amount to much. That is why it’s more fun to invent mythical works like the Necronomicon and Book of Eibon. - Quotes Regarding the Necronomicon from Lovecraft’s Letters
@serventaprime In 1927, Lovecraft wrote a brief pseudo-history of the Necronomicon that was published in 1938, after his death, as A History of The Necronomicon. - H. P. Lovecraft's History of the Necronomicon
@crazymanma123 I have done research on the topic. His my favourite author and if you bothered to check out the site I told you you would have seen for yourself that I was correct. I have given evidence and even stated that you simply need to ask for more and I will give it. You on the other hand have failed to give any proof at all, and simply stating something like that proves that you have none. Either give me real evidence or quit lying about something you know nothing about
lovecraft staed himself that the true necronomicon was never written, and even if it had been, he also stated that there were only five copies given to public places. The british museum, the bibliotheque nationale de france, the widener library at harvard university, the university of buenos aires, and The library of the fictional Miskatonic University in the also fictitious Arkham, Massachusetts.
hell, the supposed author of the book, abdul alhazred, doesnt exist.
@kmbjbb Thats very true, the character Abdul Alhazred was what he used to call himself when he was younger and playing around his family property. Thats also where he got alot of inspiration for his stories, by walking around old family cripts and ruins of old houses where he lived growing up.
--> or lean with your back against the ancient brick wall of a decaying Boston building some dark night.. the wind howls, pushing the dark rolling clouds above that block out the few stars.. then the rain begins.. the hissing splash of it on the streets.. the gurgle of it moving like a living thing through gutters.. things in the water there.. moving against it... the sound of footsteps.. the slamming of a door some where.. the lights flicker and fail.. - That is what Cthulhu sounds like to me.
well it is much better than the metal music some people try to stick on Cthulhu.. but the music is so.. 1970s B horror movie ja ne? Lovecraft did not like the theater.. he wrote that more than once.. i think if you really want a Cthuloid mythos soundtrack, you should begin in a dark woods on a early Fall night. Go listen.. as unseen shadowy creatures creep and flap and scratch.. things that chirp and scream and murmur.. the breeze whistling through the trees..-->
You guys are making all the H.P. Lovecraft fans look like they are bat shit insane.
Stop arguing about the book and threatening people who don't think its real.. its their opinion, and posting the mumbo jumbo crap from the short stories won't make you look any less crazy.
Lovecraft, amazing author. I loved Rats in the walls. Amazing short story, so was call of cthulu, the dunwich horror, the shadow out of time, and pretty much all of them!
Not necessarily. Aleister Crowley actually did write a book called the Necronomicron. There weren't many copies made, though. While the magick bit is somewhat debatable, the Necronomicron was written for real. Just never found.
i am here and you eat dinner with me , go to movie with me the monster, hehehehe when will you awake ... you fuckface i take all that is yours, and no god lol comes to stop that. not even you. hehehehehehe you have lost it bro.
@TheLoukku The book of the dead does indeed exist the first edition hit the stands dec22, 1977 during the time of the ancient Pagan feast of Yule, the winter solstice. I have a copy here in my study, The Necronomicon's magick is nothing to fool with and it may expose you to psychological forces with which you cannot cope. Remember, if you tinker with the incantations, you were warned
@LuciferThe1 you are a dim witted fool the necronomicon doesnt exist and Cthulhu rises again yours is the first soul he will feast upon "Ph'nglui mglw'nafh Cthulhu R'lyeh wgah'nagl fhtagn."
@ImpleoRabidus Leave your home address and I will personally leave you a copy of THE NECRONOMICON, Then we'll shall see who's foolish little BOY! GIBIL GASHRU UMUNA YANDURU TUSHTE YESH SHIR ILLANI U MA YALKI!!!!!!!! Do not poke at the caged beast for its cage will not hold forever FOOL!
Hail mighty Cthulhu, high priest of the Great Old Ones. For when the stars come right, he shall rise from his ancient tomb to signal their return. Then shall the Ancient Ones, long ago banished to the outer spheres, break free from their prisons and plunge from the stars to claim the Earth once more. For those who lurk at the threshold of our world are ever vigilant for the time of their return.
@GodMaker925 Ia! Cthulhu fthagn! The Old Ones were, the Old Ones are, and the Old Ones shall be, again! They walk, serene and unseen, in the spaces Between, and they are one with your very guarded threshold!
The Necronomican is an ancient arabic book on Jinns and did exist before lovecraft, what lovecraft did was change the names of the spirits. Check your local bookstore and you might just find a reprint of the original !
I have been listening to this band for several hours strait, just relaxed in the slow, creepy melody.. but when this song came on my heart rate picked up and i just cant shake a feeling of nervousness..... too creepy
Now aside from my joke. There is no necronomicon existing before lovercraft introduced the book :) so nope no necronomicon no ultimate evil power over the world no riding Byakhee's to school sorry
@drdttdtrestds Not everyone is soo stupid t othink that bible is just tradition..anway...old ones...that is cryptology .Did you really think that they were talking about men with tentacles and all that ?...but it is pure cretinism to think that they were really referring to that kind of stuff(the ones who wrote them).Just think about it..it is like this.A monster will come and consume the whole nation-for example-but of course..idiots these days would really expect a real..huge monster-
@drdttdtrestds When in fact that monster could be their leader for example..who will bring the whole nation into ruin just so he can satisfy his desires...greed..power..etc.And when you destroy something in some way...and if that something will in consequence feed your desire it is considered the same as eating it or to consume it in a more cryptic language..something that is easy to understand
The Fandom of The Operator by Robert Rankin, the Father of Far-Fetched Fiction, states that every library owns a copy and are bound by law to deny it.

They should play this piece in Fable II where the two dolts find the Norminomican (obvious reference to the Necronomican). :D I love Fable II and Nox Arcana!
What i wouldn't do to have that book within my grasp, there is nothing i wouldn't do, no price to high, after all power is power in what ever form it takes.
crafted from untold blasphemies and darkeness....with bindings woven from human flesh and bone. With pages fill with evil and darkness untold. The lords of darkness influence shall ever reach, as long as some fool opens the breach.
The necronomicon is in your midst, will you destroy it or vanish into the black mist?
@Dracomancer350 Perching naked in the shadows, my autistic, palsy afflicted cousin furiously jerks my weiner while laying sweet spankies on my tender, pale ass. I tremble with delight as I cum... though I don't know if it's the stimulation or fear. Grandma is frying flapjacks in the next room, talking about how much she hates niggers and how the scab on my dick got caught in her teeth. Sweet succulent Christ.
@MrShufflezz oh yes its slavery to bring out obvious codes of behaivor, lets let people just murder and rape and do waht they will and let ourselves be whiped out as s peices due to sheer stupidity
@panjawel2 first of all, No, secound, thats was a nice way to turn my words back on me, grats, and third, the basis of religion was trying to explain the unexplainable, you are right that it can b used to ensnare some people, but thats a corruption, which is in everything humans do, sad to say. but I was still right that religion atleast the major ones are instilling ((or supposed to be)) the way we should act, and on a final note, I apologize for my harsh responce, before
@panjawel2 Now, again there is corruption and ignorance in all things that humans have thier hands in, and another fact of life is, people are crazy, so honestly I rather have people beileving and reading the words that give rules, such as do not rape, kill or steal ((and all relgions have these rules)) than to have them beilve in nuthing and go bat shit crazy
Actually, the mad Arab Abdul Alhazared was Lovecraft's pen-name after reading the Arabian Nights. It's all a work of fiction, but it is bizarre in its reality. The reason for this is that Lovecraft was an amazingly good writer. I can't remember who wrote it, but its said that Lovecraft didn't "create" his work, he lived it. If only more authors could live their writing.
the necronomicon, or book of the dead, was a book written, but it was the egyptians that wrote it. thats the real book of the dead. and yeah those gods mentioned in there were all worshipped in like mesopotomia and all that.
i honestly believe in magic. Call me whatever you want. I stand by my believe. and it says that god himself used magic to create the universe. Necromancy.....well.. it says its against god but i dont believe that. i think that the spirits are always around us. and if we pay close attention, we may here them one day.
In accordance to whether a Necronomicon ritual actually works...Well, if you believe that any ritual works, then there is no reason to bash the Necronomicon, every book had a beginning, especially ritualistic books. They are usually grimoires, which is pretty much a personal journal. So, to say that the Necronomicon doesn't work because it was created by one man is a flawed statement, most of every magical text was created by one man. In that context, none of them should work. ;)
@panjawel2 Cast a fireball at you? Do you think that this is Howgwart's? Magic is intended as a natural form of molecular manipulation much like thermodynamics, you are not meant to see the effects of it. If you were able to see nature run it's course, then we would not have so many questions about "the wonders of nature" now would we Jackass?
You know why you can't see the effects of magic? Because there are none, dumbass. If you'd be more educated you would know that you CAN observe the effects of molecular manipulation (also, thermodynamics doesn't have much to do with it - you just try to sound smart, but you fail miserably). And what do you mean by "questions about wonders of nature"? Be more concrete, little wizard.
Post proof of of magic actually working, or remain silent.
@panjawel2 I do not think that magic does not exist..but..al lof those efect things in games and so on...have a hipnotizing efect on mentally weak people...mostly made to make them love the game or show more or whatever
@panjawel2 It all depends on what magic you speak of panjawel2. If you speak of Necronomicon Magic, no one can give you proof of that., because as is said it is fiction. If however you speak of true magic, it exists of a sort. I am Wiccan, and yes we perform magic, but it is nothing like casting fire balls. Real magic is healing and chants and that sort of thing. Necronomicon=Fiction, Magic=Truth. Try to keep an open mind.
I'm probably the most open-minded person you'll ever know. But are you open-minded about magic? Do you think you could change your mind about it if someone would prove to you that your rituals doesn't work at all or would you just dismiss that and keep believing? Having an open mind doesn't mean "believing in everything". If magic works, then it could be proven. As for today, no one succeed at that (many tried: google James Randi).
@panjawel2 I know my rituals work because a great number of people, including me, have done them and work. That doesn't mean I go around saying: Oh look, when I do magic it always work and that makes me a God, I just say that my magic tends to work. Look up Wicca, and you find that there are people who do magic out there. I keep an open mind that my religion may be wrong, but I believe it is right.
Anyway, this is a brilliant song, love Nox Arcana.
@Gandalf4173 hmmmm, my magika tends to work as well. i use my own invented form of magika(latin word for magic) that works exceedingly well but is difficult to use.
@TheSomeguy101 Whatever works best for you, go ahead! Rather go on your own road that you made than to walk an already beaten track. Blessed be man! )O(
@Gandalf4173 you are the first person I've seen talking so openly about Wicca on what is essentially an open forum. I too am Wiccan, and sometimes find it so difficult to find others who even know about it. Blessed be :)
@slithas Because of the work of angered catholics and crazed athiests the religion of Wicca and Paganism has nearly dwindled to nothingness. But slowly, with hard work and dedication, we are begining to open peoples eyes.
You shouldn't be scared to admit what you believe in. :) Just do it with a smile on your face.
@Gandalf4173 You know, Wicca isn't much better than christianity: You get a little more done because you take some credit for the results, but in the end you're still begging godforms for tablescraps when you've got a garden more vast than any larder of a god. No spirit deserves worship. Would you kneel before and pay tribute to another human?
@ChienesSaventPas After struggling a while to unscramble your metaphors and similies I have this to say.
Wicca is not any better than Christianity. We are human and we make mistakes. All we do is acknowledge the existance of Two Beings, who we believe to be the 'Parents' of us all. We do not 'beg' for things, we merely ask and wait to see what we get. I would not kneel before any human and worship them, because part of being a human is that we are impure and we do make mistakes.
@Gandalf4173 I realize that using the word 'beg' seems pejorative, but I was caught up in the moment. What I mean to say is that prayer is unnecessary: one may only arrive at enlightenment by the work of one's own two legs (figuratively speaking, of course) and, in my experience, one is also capable of manifesting through willpower the same results. In fact, I believe that prayer works by the same mechanism to a degree, albeit indirectly. Few things are given. If you need, you must take.
@ChienesSaventPas We do not take, only borrow. I agree with the fact that we forge our own destinys, that is understandable. I do not believe that fate or the Lord or Lady make our future. The Lord and Lady are like my parents, and prayer is like having a one to one conversation with them. The Lord and Lady will only do as much as a parent would, but they will not solve the problem completely. That duty lies with us.
@Gandalf4173 That's interesting. I suppose most of what I know about wicca was from 'wiccans' who didn't know much about it to begin with. Personally, I don't believe that humans were created, physically or spiritually. Objectively, I can't say that with absolute certainty, because I wasn't there. (not that I remember, anyway.) I'm not an atheist in the traditional sense of the word, but I take an empirical approach to life, and trust only what I experience repeatably.
@ChienesSaventPas Well at least your open minded. I know a great many people who would jump at the chance of proving everyone else wrong, and it is refreshing to know there is understanding in the world.
No one knows the beggining or the end of the story of the world. I guess we will have to just wait and see.
"I know my rituals work because a great number of people, including me, have done them and work. "
Good for you! Now show them to some scientist, so you'll become famous and rich! Why, you don't want to? Or maybe your rituals work only when nobody is looking? :)
If you want to live in illusionary world rather than accept the reality, then there's not much point in discussion, because reason and logic are not going to convince you, right? Peace.
@panjawel2 Indeed sir, if you know the for certain was is 'illusion' and what is 'reality' why aren't you famous and rich? For us our spells are important, so stop talking to me as if I am four years old and stop acting as if you know everything. The world changes panjawel2, and hopefully you will soon develop understanding.
" if you know the for certain was is 'illusion' and what is 'reality' why aren't you famous and rich?"
Because anyone who's not retarded can tell the difference. But I see you have a problem with that. Believing in magic makes you look like a 4-years old, so don't expect anyone to treat you seriously.
The world has already changed - science replaced magic, because science actually works. And please, stop using the internet, it's totally scientific.
@panjawel2 Don't be an ass. Quick, prove to me that atoms exist. Right now, at your computer. Can you see the individual atoms? feel them in the surface of glass? have you EVER seen them? So what? do you trust without consideration what teachers tell you their teachers told them, etc up the line that scientists told them? You have more blind faith than anyone else. That you exist. That your world exists, that rules exist, that logic is more than the concoction of your delirious, dreaming mind.
I never claimed that I believe in atoms. So yeah, you failed, asshole. You not only have more blind faith that anyone else, but also more stupidity.
I know that when you put something in acid, it dissolves. Chemistry explains this logically with interactions of atoms - this seems like a very logical theory. I don't believe in atoms, I just assume it's the most probable theory out there and I am willing to change my opinion if there will appear a better theory. I'm open-minded.
alright. its time to clear the air and give the answers. the necronomicon is fiction. it was the first book in a series written by hp lovecraft. there was no mad arab. albeit, there are things in the book that are real. the gods named in there? those were gods worshipped back in the time when babylon was around. the symbols? real, egyptian and other places. sorry the rituals, they work. if they do, ur doing something different, and id like to know what. also the book of the dead, also egyptian.
@treacheroustree Thats a common mistake people make: The Necromonicon was never written, good ol' Lovecraft even said that it is "The book to yet be written". He tought the idea of writing the book would ruin the mystery surrounding it for the fans. Also none of The Great Old Ones were just a bunch of highly evolved aliens, it was the humans who thought they were gods. maybe they used tech mixed with magic, but they were still just monsters.
@treacheroustree not bad, but not exactly true, your right in saying that one of the very first books of the dead was Egyptian. However the actual, Necronomicon is not. I believe that the Necronomicon was far before Egyptian times. The book of the dead was never Arabic. Again your right when you say the fiction story by hp lovecraft, though it wasn't his first. Then again it also completely depends on what version of the book your talking. Not bad though. Right on
@Novalok18 if thats true then that would be the most interesting thing ive ever heard. what do you know if the actual book, because all i ever hear is lovecraft bs. and i looked at his book. its quite a good read but id like to know what the original book has in it.
@treacheroustree Well I've never seen the first and true copy of the necrinomicon and I can promise you the people who say they have are probably screwing with you. The original text has been said to have many dark and twisted incantations, for controlling the dead and bringing the dead back to life. I don't know how much is real and how much is rumor. I am sure that the preservation of the dead is in it, as well as the funerary rights of the creators faith. I sadly can't tell you much more.
@Novalok18 I've only heard of the necronomicon through stories and rumors; however, one thing I do know is, if half of the things I've heard about it are true, then the best thing anyone could ever do with that book is to destroy the book in any way possible, and make sure it is destroyed in every way, shape, and form. No good could ever come of that forsaken tome.
@Novalok18 Someone i trust very much said they had witnessed hands and faces stretching out, trying to claim the spot of being "reborn" of sorts while they were reading a some sort of dark magik... they got so freaked out that they never finished it, but still. i believe if a person would sell their soul to the devil, this may be possible, but as a christian, I can say that the temporary power they gain by selling their soul is not worth the price paid...
@treacheroustree Your wrong you don't know how wrong you are.He redid the story of the book! The religion is true it's the very first religion ever recorded the people are the first known to have a language or to have even walked the earth before the egyptions read up on history
@Xasthur20 i was pretty sure that the necronomicon was merely an invention of h.p. lovecraft, using various mythos and using many symbols and deities to create something as a basis for his series. apparently there may have been an actual book which was beleived to have existed and inspired these people imagination, but i heard it was lost for all time, never to be found. but if you have some source that says any of it is proven anywhere, can you give me source? waiting for reply.
@treacheroustree The Necronomicon is imaginated using lots of different religious myths, modern science (at the time) and spins upon the idea that humans believe we're at the top of the universal evolution, but that there is things out there which could destroy every last molecule of us by thinking it. Though lots of fans of the mythos have created fake Necronomicons. Most of it is bullshit, for example, the idea that just by drawing different angle's you could bend time and space.
@DArlauccualrADfan does it have anything to do with necromancy? cuz i love me some summons xD but really i think necromancy is sweet, i dont even care if ppl think its satanic (becuz its not at all really)
@Kanaydiarules No, I don't think so. I have the commemorative edition (there are two Necronomicons, one is a grimoire and the other is a collection of Lovecraft stories) and it's merely hinted at what the grimoire contains but so far I haven't read anything resembeling necromancy. Then again, there was one story in which a scientist of sorts managed to bring life into resently dead matter, but I don't remember if he used the Necronomicon or not. I recomend the author, very good if you're bored.
@DArlauccualrADfan do you kno where i could find it or read it online anywhere, Im really big into this stuff, never ceases to amaze me, since it always gets darker and more thrilling to me, btw i really wish i could be a necromancer, since its all i play in games and ive come quite fond of their culture and ways. No ppl i am not on a spiral towards a pit of darkness and im not satanic, i hate that so much hot ppl always say that, but idc anyways
@Kanaydiarules It could take time, but if you want either one you can download it from Pirate Bay, but if you want something you could hold in your hand and doesn't take possibly weeks to download and you could hold in your hand I'd recomend basically any website. Amazon.com for example. Once again I would like to point out that this is a sci/fi book, but since it happened so long ago most people consider it magic.
@DArlauccualrADfan sure ill prbly get one i can hold hin may hand, you repeated yourself, its aight no hate bro. Id rather have it in front of me so id get the full experiance of it. thnx
@Mikagon Yeah, it does work. It's just not the Necronmicon as Lovecraft describes it. Honestly, I'd say that Donald Tyson's version is closer to the original version.
HLP was the best horror writer who ever lived he lived a sad life. he had nightmares almost all his childhood cuz his mom and dad died when he was young and he basted some of his ideas oh those nightmares he also had an anger problem but he still was jenius so fuck it
the best one and the first one to bind a man´s soul is to make him beleive it is not with danger over time he does have "new interests" in lack of real faith hahahaha, none will make you understand except for yourself one day, none can help you.
wow this is diferent, what is this?its like classsical but with a church kick, like aclassical church opera,or something like a ball game song on the organ, what ever it is,i like listening to it when im painting.
im gonna ga ahead and say thta it is a good thing that the necronomicon doesn't exist i don't know about you but the less proff the old ones exist the better
The Necronomicon is real as far as I know. My 8th grade English teacher had a copy of it locked in a display case in the classroom, but it could be fake for all I know

lovecraft staed himself that the true necronomicon was never written, and even if it had been, he also stated that there were only five copies given to public places. The british museum, the bibliotheque nationale de france, the widener library at harvard university, the university of buenos aires, and The library of the fictional Miskatonic University in the also fictitious Arkham, Massachusetts.
hell, the supposed author of the book, abdul alhazred, doesnt exist.
kmbjbb 4 months ago

Mikanojo 4 months ago
well it is much better than the metal music some people try to stick on Cthulhu.. but the music is so..

In that context, none of them should work. ;)
thearcanedevil 1 year ago
@thearcanedevil
"In that context, none of them should work. ;)"
Which is right, because none of them works. If you think otherwise, cast a fireball on me, or throw a curse, anything. Good luck with that.
panjawel2 1 year ago
@panjawel2 Cast a fireball at you? Do you think that this is Howgwart's? Magic is intended as a natural form of molecular manipulation much like thermodynamics, you are not meant to see the effects of it. If you were able to see nature run it's course, then we would not have so many questions about "the wonders of nature" now would we Jackass?
thearcanedevil 1 year ago
Obviously, you mistook Hogwart for real world.

Alex631210 1 year ago
@panjawel2 It all depends on what magic you speak of panjawel2. If you speak of Necronomicon Magic, no one can give you proof of that., because as is said it is fiction. If however you speak of true magic, it exists of a sort. I am Wiccan, and yes we perform magic, but it is nothing like casting fire balls. Real magic is healing and chants and that sort of thing. Necronomicon=Fiction, Magic=Truth. Try to keep an open mind.
Gandalf4173 1 year ago
@Gandalf4173
As for today, no one succeed at that (many tried: google James Randi).
panjawel2 1 year ago
@panjawel2 I know my rituals work because a great number of people, including me, have done them and work. That doesn't mean I go around saying: Oh look, when I do magic it always work and that makes me a God, I just say that my magic tends to work. Look up Wicca, and you find that there are people who do magic out there. I keep an open mind that my religion may be wrong, but I believe it is right.
Anyway, this is a brilliant song, love Nox Arcana.

Gandalf4173 1 year ago
@Gandalf4173 You know, Wicca isn't much better than christianity: You get a little more done because you take some credit for the results, but in the end you're still begging godforms for tablescraps when you've got a garden more vast than any larder of a god. No spirit deserves worship. Would you kneel before and pay tribute to another human?
ChienesSaventPas 1 year ago
@ChienesSaventPas After struggling a while to unscramble your metaphors and similies I have this to say.
Wicca is not any better than Christianity. We are human and we make mistakes. All we do is acknowledge the existance of Two Beings, who we believe to be the 'Parents' of us all. We do not 'beg' for things, we merely ask and wait to see what we get. I would not kneel before any human and worship them, because part of being a human is that we are impure and we do make mistakes.
Gandalf4173 1 year ago
@Gandalf4173 I realize that using the word 'beg' seems pejorative, but I was caught up in the moment. What I mean to say is that prayer is unnecessary: one may only arrive at enlightenment by the work of one's own two legs (figuratively speaking, of course) and, in my experience, one is also capable of manifesting through willpower the same results. In fact, I believe that prayer works by the same mechanism to a degree, albeit indirectly. Few things are given. If you need, you must take.
ChienesSaventPas 1 year ago
@ChienesSaventPas We do not take, only borrow. I agree with the fact that we forge our own destinys, that is understandable. I do not believe that fate or the Lord or Lady make our future. The Lord and Lady are like my parents, and prayer is like having a one to one conversation with them. The Lord and Lady will only do as much as a parent would, but they will not solve the problem completely. That duty lies with us.
Gandalf4173 1 year ago
@Gandalf4173 That's interesting. I suppose most of what I know about wicca was from 'wiccans' who didn't know much about it to begin with. Personally, I don't believe that humans were created, physically or spiritually. Objectively, I can't say that with absolute certainty, because I wasn't there. (not that I remember, anyway.) I'm not an atheist in the traditional sense of the word, but I take an empirical approach to life, and trust only what I experience repeatably.
ChienesSaventPas 1 year ago

Peace.
panjawel2 1 year ago

@Gandalf4173
And please, stop using the internet, it's totally scientific.
panjawel2 1 year ago
@panjawel2 Don't be an ass. Quick, prove to me that atoms exist. Right now, at your computer. Can you see the individual atoms? feel them in the surface of glass? have you EVER seen them? So what? do you trust without consideration what teachers tell you their teachers told them, etc up the line that scientists told them? You have more blind faith than anyone else. That you exist. That your world exists, that rules exist, that logic is more than the concoction of your delirious, dreaming mind.
ChienesSaventPas 1 year ago
@ChienesSaventPas
I'm open-minded.

alright. its time to clear the air and give the answers. the necronomicon is fiction. it was the first book in a series written by hp lovecraft. there was no mad arab. albeit, there are things in the book that are real. the gods named in there? those were gods worshipped back in the time when babylon was around. the symbols? real, egyptian and other places. sorry the rituals, they work. if they do, ur doing something different, and id like to know what. also the book of the dead, also egyptian.
treacheroustree 1 year ago 14
@treacheroustree Thats a common mistake people make: The Necromonicon was never written, good ol' Lovecraft even said that it is "The book to yet be written". He tought the idea of writing the book would ruin the mystery surrounding it for the fans. Also none of The Great Old Ones were just a bunch of highly evolved aliens, it was the humans who thought they were gods. maybe they used tech mixed with magic, but they were still just monsters.
Jowain92 1 year ago
@treacheroustree not bad, but not exactly true, your right in saying that one of the very first books of the dead was Egyptian. However the actual, Necronomicon is not. I believe that the Necronomicon was far before Egyptian times. The book of the dead was never Arabic. Again your right when you say the fiction story by hp lovecraft, though it wasn't his first. Then again it also completely depends on what version of the book your talking. Not bad though. Right on

treacheroustree 1 year ago
@treacheroustree Well I've never seen the first and true copy of the necrinomicon and I can promise you the people who say they have are probably screwing with you. The original text has been said to have many dark and twisted incantations, for controlling the dead and bringing the dead back to life. I don't know how much is real and how much is rumor. I am sure that the preservation of the dead is in it, as well as the funerary rights of the creators faith. I sadly can't tell you much more.
Novalok18 1 year ago

Xasthur20 1 year ago
@Xasthur20 i was pretty sure that the necronomicon was merely an invention of h.p. lovecraft, using various mythos and using many symbols and deities to create something as a basis for his series. apparently there may have been an actual book which was beleived to have existed and inspired these people imagination, but i heard it was lost for all time, never to be found. but if you have some source that says any of it is proven anywhere, can you give me source? waiting for reply.
treacheroustree 1 year ago

Kanaydiarules 1 year ago
@Kanaydiarules No, I don't think so. I have the commemorative edition (there are two Necronomicons, one is a grimoire and the other is a collection of Lovecraft stories) and it's merely hinted at what the grimoire contains but so far I haven't read anything resembeling necromancy. Then again, there was one story in which a scientist of sorts managed to bring life into resently dead matter, but I don't remember if he used the Necronomicon or not. I recomend the author, very good if you're bored.
DArlauccualrADfan 1 year ago
@DArlauccualrADfan do you kno where i could find it or read it online anywhere, Im really big into this stuff, never ceases to amaze me, since it always gets darker and more thrilling to me, btw i really wish i could be a necromancer, since its all i play in games and ive come quite fond of their culture and ways. No ppl i am not on a spiral towards a pit of darkness and im not satanic, i hate that so much hot ppl always say that, but idc anyways
Kanaydiarules 1 year ago
@Kanaydiarules It could take time, but if you want either one you can download it from Pirate Bay, but if you want something you could hold in your hand and doesn't take possibly weeks to download and you could hold in your hand I'd recomend basically any website. Amazon.com for example. Once again I would like to point out that this is a sci/fi book, but since it happened so long ago most people consider it magic.

@treacheroustree umm, no. simon does work and he could also have at least credited franz bardon for his faulted rituals.
Mikagon 1 year ago
@Mikagon Yeah, it does work. It's just not the Necronmicon as Lovecraft describes it. Honestly, I'd say that Donald Tyson's version is closer to the original version.

Sadly, the necronomicon doesn't exist.
FAKE necronomicons are used in Chaos/Lovecraftian Magick and have excitingly surprising effects..
