UK #1 5 Weeks - 28th January to 2nd March 1984. Later that year (7th to 20th July) it reached #2. #1 that time occupied another FGTH's song - Two Tribes, so there repeated situation, where at least 2 spots were occupied by different songs by the same artist. Before this it did for example The Beatles or John Lennon solo.
This video's similar to the one in the Brian de Palma movie Body Double, although that one had a sex scene in it, and it was supposed to be a porno film, not a music video, being made.
You all are sure right on this. The Record Exec's had a shit fit. They were scrambling from here to there and didn't have a clue. It was so funny that it went right under they're nose's. Talk about being dense....LMAO
Theres one other thing,,they could whip up a crowd into a fury
@AceNitro Yeah, if there's one thing ZTT hated, it was controversy. Paul Morley and Trevor Horn must have been fuming when they noticed gay undertones to FGTH's music...
Boy, this brings back memories. But I have to agree, this was banned from all TV and cable channels due to the content. But yes, this is tame now, its amazing how our society changes over time...
Soo much sexual undertones but I was too young to understand the concept of gay people. But I could easily sense the heavy sexual energy,,,,,And i rememebr the more explicit version of this video. Anyway this song became the anthem for gay people back in the 80s and well into the 90s, but it seems a little tame today hehehe
The Bernard Rose Version orginally considered too extreme for broadcast and a 15 rating ... If the song lyrics was not implicit enough then the video makes it plain! A fantastic journey into debauchery FTGH's favorite thing!

I never understood this song on "gay" way. But sexual context was obvious.
