i don't think it's narcolepsy. my bet is on vasovagal syncope, or something related.

VS is often accompanied by dizziness and nausea upon regaining consciousness. this little guy is fine as soon as he wakes up, and there's no indication of the effects of low blood pressure or loss of oxygen to the brain. another piece of evidence is that he can be "kept awake" long enough to eat by stimulating him, which is contraindicated with VS. close, though!

Dude, I know how that dog feels. I suffer from some kind of a sleep disorder (most like EDS which is is sypmtom of narcolepsy) that hasn't been diagnosed. It isn't a laughing matter. I've been made fun of before and its not cool. It sucks terribly and affects a person's life significanlty.

I've been diagnosed for 5 years now and luckily found a man that doesnt mind it. my 7 year old daughter understands me as well. as for my 5 month old, I will teach her about it so she doesnt become like those people who like to make fun and think this stuff is funny. hope you get a diagnosis soon. the sooner the better! I've had it since I was in 6th grade but didnt get diagnosed til I was 24, and in college.

Just watched a documentary on Narcolepsy. It is sad to see this. But dont think that putting him down is the best solution. Best solution is to research and test to solve this problem so the next dog will be cured of this disease. Research does suggest that narcolepsy in humans is caused by cells attacked and destroyed in the human brain and this is based on reseach of narc dogs.
