I saw it with my brother at the theater many years ago. This movie has tons of product placement. Back then postal workers weren't going postal. As a former postal worker (non-career), I still think they should rethink zero tolerance. One thing that really bugged me about the movie was a story that several rabbits died. I used to raise some.
Holy Shit! I totally remember the bit where he grabs the girl's legs and says "Oh I like that!" from the 80's when I first saw this trailer on TV! Hilarious!
Of course I'd love to have a copy of the DVD :) Is it on sale?? I could only buy a VHS second-hand copy on eBay -- it was worth every penny, this movie is both tender and hilarious. I never get tired of it.
This was, by far, the worst movie I've ever watched in a theater. I remember seeing it on it's opening weekend, in a packed house. The whole crowd walked out at the end as if we'd all had a labotomy.
I guess the problem was that you expected to see something different. When I watched about 25 years after my first view of it, I knew perfectly well what I was going to see -- visual gags in an uncomplicated plot.
And I must say I was even positively surprised, because some of those visual gags were even better than I recalled.
I got it a few weeks ago on VHS from eBay. I think it's not on DVD. I remember watching this film over and over again when I was a teenager (now I'm 41). Overall it's a very nice film to watch, but some moments are just HILARIOUS. Jerry is one of the greatest comedians of all time, and he's a wonderful mime! I love him in scenes with no dialogue (especially when he doesn't know what to speak about with a woman -- his movements are one of the funniest scenes I've ever seen!!).
So funny. As I recall, when he was in an interview for a job, he was offered donuts. Because he was nervous, he over stuffs his mouth and then the donut crumbs come flying out. I've got to find a copy of this movie on DVD.
OMG! This movie is SOOOO funny! I would love to see it again! I love the part where he gets a job at a glass factory & it just shows him going in the front of the building & the camera stays on the front of the building & you hear all this glass breaking inside, hilarious!
