Aside from the fact that it is for an insurance company, this is probably my favorite commercial ever. It gives me chills every time I watch it. What is especially cool is the fact that in nearly all of the "paying it forward" situations the person paying it forward was a bystander and not the recipient of the kind gesture. The ad may have run to sell more insurance policies, but it definitely promotes something that society could use more of. Kudos to the people who created it.

Not only do I admire the concept of this commercial, but I love the music. It's almost a public service announcement. I'd still consider all my options before using Liberty Mutual, but I do have more respect for a company that advertises responsibly. Oh, and I love how these commercials loop.

This commercial stinks. People are supposed to be kind and civil to each other, it's nothing special. If you want an insurance company that aspires to be mediocre, Liberty Mutual is for you.

We have Liberty Mutual ... had them for 10+ years without a claim. Last year we had a water loss claim to our home. I have never been treated so poorly by an insurance company in my life ... The kicker was when they told me sagging sheetrock becomes stronger AFTER it has been wet. We had to hire a public adjuster to adjust the claim. Liberty Mutual wanted to give us $6,000 to repair $20,000 in damage.
@DIVISIONINCISION We had to hire a public adjuster at 15% of the claim value just to get Liberty Mutual Insurance to negotiate. In the end, it cost us about $4,000 out of our own pocket to get all the repairs fixed.
I have liberty Mutual Insurance and a wicked storm on March 13th hit NJ. Liberty Mutual HAs done EVERYTHING to escape paying one dime for the damage to my home. They are not ineterested in RESPONSIBILITY -- they try and skim and save as much as possible for their share holders and THEY SCREW the HARD WORKING BILL PAYING CUSTOMERS. LIBERTY MUTUAL SUCKS. THEy have not made good on my claim yet, here we are almost MAY and my home still has a tarp over it from hurricane damage.
great commercial... make you feel warm and fuzzy... I experinced this type of random act of kindness today at a local grocery store. I was so proud to be there to see this first hand... I wish it would be contagious like the tv commercial. ^_^

Love this ad. Regardless of who made it, it's true that we're influenced by what we SEE more than when we're just told to do something. I'm appalled on a daily basis at the total lack of awareness of most people of their surroundings. If this makes a few people more aware, then bravo.

Interesting, the story seems to be a paradox, but is not. At minute .22 the chain goes back to the beginning of the events. because the characters change completely.

I don't understand why everyone is having such a hard time with the concept. They guy at the begginning of the commercial states that the chain has started. Now, towards the end of the commericial, when he was pushing the stroller and the jogger picked up the toy, and then they go back to the same clip of HIM picking up the toy for the women and her child, it states that it was really a never ending chain. There's no start or finish. But everyone may seem it in a different light.
No one acts in this matter anymore, and it's really harsh. I always try to help people, not because it gives off a good impression, but because afterwards, there is never any regreat. If anything, I think to myself, "This is a really good feeling. Like I just set my day at a good leval." But terribly, people aren't like this anymore. I like the song.

really, most touching act of kindness was man helping up the man who fell, even if he didn't want help. Responsibilty would be paying your insurance bill, acts of kindness go beyond that....

You can see that the chain of events were started by the lady in the beginning, but at the end of the clip it, shows that the guy who was at the end of the chain, was the one that started it. They added a whole other time frame making seem like the guy at the end was a fucking time traveler.
So, I'm guessing the guy who you think was at the end was at the beginning. The chain begins when the guy in the purple shirt is helped by the other guy, who in turn helps the lady, who helps the coffee guy, etc...
OK,..yes it has a somewhat appealing emotional message. But remember that it is an advertisement. It's aim is to make you believe that if you don't have Liberty Mutual, then you are not "responsible."
It was a beautiful theatre in La Puente, California, I believe it is still there but, for many years the owner who bought it showed pornographic movies.. and all male one's too.. =o/
A lot say this company is bad ha ha but the commercial to me is a good message either way and the song works with it. Just take the ending logo part out where she says "Liberty Mutual" and there ya go a brilliant inspiring video.

No one acts in this matter anymore, and it's really harsh. I always try to help people, not because it gives off a good impression, but because afterwards, there is never any regreat. If anything, I think to myself, "This is a really good feeling. Like I just set my day at a good leval." But terribly, people aren't like this anymore. I like the song.

That story is impossible!!
You can see that the chain of events were started by the lady in the beginning, but at the end of the clip it, shows that the guy who was at the end of the chain, was the one that started it. They added a whole other time frame making seem like the guy at the end was a fucking time traveler.

OK,..yes it has a somewhat appealing emotional message. But remember that it is an advertisement. It's aim is to make you believe that if you don't have Liberty Mutual, then you are not "responsible."

Responsibility? I don't thinks so. My dad has a law suit against Liberty Mutual and my dad got an inguinal hernia and Liberty Mutual won't accept the surgery which means they could care less if my dad dies of the pain.
