@Elaine32909, Johnny Paycheck's song is called "The Old Violin", & is nothing like this song. In that one, he compares himself to an old violin about to be put up for the last time. It came out around the time he went to prison--might have been about how he felt at the time, what with being locked up & all. Don't really know, just a guess.
Good version, but liked the one by Wayne that came out in the 80's. Saw him perform it in Dallas area. Prestonwood Baptist? Don't know if I've heard Johnny Paycheck's version.
I didn't "get it" when I first heard this song on the radio almost 20 years ago. Now I've lived, I've sinned, I've been broken and shattered, wounded and scarred by life, by my own choices, by the world in general. Now I get it. Jesus takes the worthlessness I had and returns something of so much greater value. I weep when I listen to this song now. Thank You, Jesus, for all You've done, all You've given. Thank You for the touch of the Master's hand.
If Jesus was alive today I would punch him in the face, force him to ritualistically suck my penis and swallow my load before slitting his throat with a rusty butter-knife, then shit down his throat and jack off again onto his face, then piss on his grave.
@OrthodoxDarwinist And yet, even if you were the ONLY person on this earth He would still die for you knowing you reject Him...can you even comprehend that kind of love? Have any of your family or friends made the choice to be beaten and killed to take the punishment for something you did?
Greater love has no one than this, that he lay down his life for his friends.
This song is so powerful. Thank you Jesus for the change you made in my life.
God does not care what you have done in the past, he is here to pick you up and clean you up and make you shine for him... Jesus LOVE'S everyone. It does not matter what they done. He died for everyone. We might just be very surprised who we see in heaven wh...en we get there.. Don't count anyone out.....
Haven't seen this version since sometime in the 80's, when I saw Wayne perform it at a concert... went home and started figuring it out on the guitar and have played it like this ever since, at least as close as I can come. My favorite version of all time, thanks for posting it!
Touch of the Masters Hand, Jesus came into the temple broke up the money changers tables, because they where cheating the people, telling them there sacrifices were not good enought. Today I feel as the peacher's are doing the same thing with their books, as if they are saying the Bible is not enought, let me sell you my book, it will help you. Is not the Bible enought to get you by.
this the video that he made for the how time flies video and newer version of it at the time in which it was in the earlier 90's.I remember this because I had rented from the christian bookstore at that time when I was discovering his music ..... one of my favorites ,,,,
@jernieg Taylordewd is correct, this is from a video album that he did in 92. I did the costumes for "It's Time" on the album. We filmed the interviews and a few of the songs in this beautiful home in Tulsa. Working with Wayne was one of the most rewarding experiences that I have ever had. Of all the "celebrities" I have worked with, he was so genuine and kind. Didn't act like he was any better than any of the rest of us - he is a truly humble man, and I was honored to work with him.
I have looked and looked for this song here on youtube. So glad you have it posted by Wayne, cause if you type it in the search you get all kinds, but not this one. Love this song so much. Thank you for posting......
This version of Wayne's is the best one of all. I just love the music with the words. It is so much more meaningful with Wayne's version of song.
