@uqiimu Thanks for your comment after watching this again its seems that's the plausible reason for the attack. I guess that was the matriarch lioness attacking and the others joined in the attack.
I don't think it was a young male from the pride they were chasing off, that's usually done by the resident male(s) and from the looks he seems very mature. Can't be intruders since everyone was tollerating each other until the lone lioness walked in. Yet the violent nature of their attack leaves me stumped ?

It appears as though that these females were recently taken over by these males, perhaps a week ago. So some of these females have not had enough time to adjust to the company of the new males.
