  • Not exactly organic that!

  • what is the point of having powder grass anyway?

  • this lacks essential trace minerals..because it not planted in soil and not absorbing the natural rays of the sun which means it's all artificial...

if you really like to have wheat grass or barley grass, check the company phytofoods corp. who plants natural way such cereal grass in australia and new zealand. it is Australian certified organic... non synthetic non chemical form non- hazardous to human health... Go Natural!!!

  • @allan9269 I agree the Australian company is better because their grass is higher in nutrition because of the soil it is grown in. How is the grass artificial though? They plant REAL seeds that came from REAL plants. I wouldn't buy from this company either because I grow my grow grass, in soil, but don't be silly. The grass they grow is still highly nutritious just not as nutritious as it could be.

  • if u plant indoors know that windows i think have a tint that filters out many of the suns ultraviolet rays.

  • just unnatural

  • oh, without sun, aluminum pack..NO THANKS!

  • These comments embarrass me. You people are whack.

  • Nothing can replace sun fed plant life. You need to eat the sun and bathe in the sun.

  • @BeyondThere01 But when your in a pinch and you need SOME nutrition, this product would be very convenient.

  • god damn.. has to be BS.. growing wheatgrass not taking man to mars

  • Good info knowledge....I did a paper on genetically modified foods which is seriously messed up. I know Monsanto is a jacked up company also.

  • nice, monsanto is pure evil! Have you ever heard of Codex Alimentarius? It's important for people to stay away from GMO foods and monsanto.

  • Yeah exactly piss off !!

  • orgonic my bolloks , thats hydro , fuk all orgonic about it , stop bullshiting people into thinking that its orgonic

  • welcome to 2009 moron USA FOOD SUPPLY ITS 80% GMO (genetically modified) u fukcing Fat idiots dont know shit about Real Hydroponics or Aeroponic... you think that simply because theres no soil it cant be organic?? 1 learn what organic means 2. learn that U DONT NEED SOIL TO GROWN PLANTS 3 learn about GMO and how many of u idiots still think THERE IS FARMS that do shit the old ways... the conventional world ITS A POISON INDUSTRY. Organic FARMING its the only thing left CLOSE TO NATURE.

  • There is nothing organic about this. Also soil contains a large amount of trace elements that are taken up in true organic growing mediums. These are probably just sprayed with chemical NPK solution as with most aeroponics/hydroponic systems

  • your are dumb fuk... soil has nothing to do with organic u fuking idiot!! ;] learn the DEFINITION OF ORGANIC!!! Zombie

  • Have you ever grown in a non-soil based medium? If you had you would know that chemical fertilizers are nearly always needed in such mediums. The reason being that without soil based micro-organisms it is impossible to break down the nutrients small enough to pass through root cell walls without chemically altering the liquid fertilizers. Their are some methods of organic hydroponics that overcome this that rely on seaweed based ferts, but they are usually too expensive to use commercially.

  • Lord Northbourne coined the term Organic farming in his book Look to the Land-1939 out of his conception of "the farm as organism" to describe a holistic, ecologically-balanced approach to farming. The land is constantly revitalized with at least equal amounts of nutrients going back into the soil as are taken out of it. Since then the word has taken on many meaning, most typically without the use of conventional pesticides and artificial fertilizers. In some countries it just means non-GM.

  • I don't know, but read this:

ACO Organic standards section: 7.2.2. States (Latest Version 6): Hydroponic systems whereby plants are fed principally through soluble fertilisers in mediums that are devoid of a healthy and complex soil ecology are not certifiable under this standard.

  • @josephjujnovich That is true. The grass grown without soil is less nutritious than if it were grown in soil. But keep in mind that the seed itself contains a powerhouse of nutrients, vitamins, enzymes and trace elements. So even grown without soil, it is still nutritious.

  • does anyone know of ways to get higher yielding grass that does not involve being a peckhead like these guys??

  • I've experimented with just water vs water and Hydroponic nutrients. Adding nutrients tripled the yield. I grow mine in an aeroponic system but I've grown it in plastic sprout trays. The best way in a tray is to fill the tray about half way with perlite. Top the perlite with paper towels and spinkle a cup and a half of wheat berries on top. Add water and nutrients if you want. Cover the tray until the grass is about an inch tall. Put a fan on it to prevent mold.

  • wheatgrass is very healthy you can grow your own and juice it. you can get a sprouter tray. rather have fresh then the dried

  • Aeroponic is a way of high yield growth.

  • This way of growing "food" is just another atempt to make farms into factories, to eradicate the dependance of humans on "unclean", uncontrollable nature and make other beings, like plants into factory products.

I would never eat any of it.

  • no sunlight or soil = empty green shoots that only look like real grass. nutrients come from the soil. it disgusts me when factories go completely against nature by taking everything that is good and real away from something perfect and beautiful to package it and make a fortune. It's ridiculous.

  • I've read that the soil doesn't significantly affect the nutrition content in wheatgrass. I've been growing indoors in soil however I have had some small problems with mold at the base and have looked into hydroponics. I was shocked to hear that hydroponics are just as good (while eliminating mold growth).

  • INFACT their better! theres no need for SOIL growning bacteria or funji.. with doesnt get the plants sick..imagine a plant getting all the nutrition it needs and no negative effects or chemicals such as fertilicers, PESTICIDES, HERBACIDS and such used in soil... so the plant its completely ALKALINE AND HEALTHY how we should eat it! watch "The FUTURE OF FOOD"

  • Alkaline? If you knew anything u would know that most plants favor ACIDIC mediums and r more towards Acidic on a PH scale themselves. I have grown with hydroponic, aeroponic & natural soil based mediums and I can tell you the benefits of the first 2 are only speed & convenience. Plants have grown for millions of years in soil, they uptake a lot of nutrients not available in hydroponic solutions. These nutrients are broken down by the micro-organisms in soil which are almost always BENIFICIAL.

  • u do make a point but keyword SPEED AND CONVENIENCE it doesnt matter if a plant can grow acidic but thats bull since they would get sick and die! most soils are NEUTRAL PH. and plants boosted to ALKALINE PH's will deliver amazing fruits and such. research it!

  • Try growing fruit..lets say tomato's (yes they are in fact a fruit) in an alkaline soil & then tell me how amazing the results were. Ive done more than research. Ive put theory into practice. I think perhaps u have fallen prey to disinformation about food shortages due to growth of populations in urban areas.

  • Your entitled to believe that these methods are the way forward, however its my belief that traditional methods that have sustained us for millions of years are the better basket to place all your eggs in

  • Oh yeah... and you'll never catch me eating "Turkey with potato's carrots and gravy- in a capsule" either... no matter how many people tell me that it's an advancement that I should take advantage of. Call me old fashioned if you like.. some things work best the way they always have.. including our planets biosphere and natures cycles on it.

  • Have you tried adding a little perilite for drainage? Put a higher ratio of perilite at the bottom of the trays then the top and you will ensure proper drainage. Put holes in the bottom of the tray also of course. The reason the nutritional profile of hydro grass looks very similar to soil grown is because most of the growth stems from the stored energy in the seeds, they need very little nutrition at all. No need for rich soil at all. Personally I would still stick with soil over hydro.

  • keep japping... doesnt matter the Fact is i've been planting with Aeroponics and Hydroponics for the past 6 years. keep talking smack.. why even waste my time trying to show the world that this can all be done organically.. if u motherfukers dont even know that 80% of the Coventional USA FOOD SUPPLY its all GMO & chemicalized.. thats FOOD.. everywhere.. soo many Fat fuks walking around & sick puppies.. w.e dude i have no time to argue about FACTS. it is ORGANIC. plants drink food dont eat it.

  • Lets imagine for a second that they are using organic fertilizer in a setup to grow food for the world. They take from a natural source.. lets say seaweed and make food out of it. The left over plants, roots and all are then disposed of, stopping the nutrition entering back into the soil to continue the cycle of life. Gradually the earth becomes depleted as they siphon life out of the cycle, the earth becomes less and less able to support the wide variety of life you see today.

  • This is not the way forward. It is not sustainable.

As much as you may not like them the earth actually needs all the little critters, the birds picking from fields, crapping nutrition over the land. Earth worms breaking down dead matter and shedding earth revitalizing skin, the maggots breaking down the dead.. as yucky as it all sounds it is part of an fantastic system where life is constantly reborn, an everlasting cycle that we too are part of. Speed & ease is not worth destroying this for.

  • bro again ur talking out of your ASS! listen to what ur saying yet u have no fucking idea of whats really going on now. do ya?? Monsanto Corporation Introduced a new GMO Gene into The Corn Industry of USA in 2005.. the corn Grows with A PESTICIDE inside from the Seed up. so when bugs or little critters bite it THEY DIE..yet thats the Corn of the 80% USA supply as Food..Taco Bell..Mcds..Chilis, Flanigans..ect thats all their GMO PROCESSED FOOD, so.. you talk about KILLING but u dont know SHIT yet

  • Well I'm glad your against GM crops, that's a start.

Did you not learn about the food cycle in school?

Im not in America, fortunately I live in a country where Greenpeace made a great fuss about GM to the point where consumers refused to buy products with GM ingredients. The demand for truly organic food grew to such an extent that even the US started growing it to supply us & Japan. U dont need ANOTHER techno-fix to pull you out of the shit created by other untested technological development.

  • Both Monsantos roundup and your hydro are non-sustainable, neither are links in the food chain.. monsanto's is slightly worse as it poisons the land and kills off lifeforms essential to the cycle of life. Your hydro is no solution either, that simple steals nutrition away from the earth and feeds it into an isolated system. So instead of allowing shit and dead matter to decompose in a field to enter back into the cycle you take it and feed it to your plants in an isolated grow chamber.

  • The only way forward is ORGANIC. You have been telling people to look it up and yet clearly you yourself do not know the original meaning and origin of the word. Wiki it and you will see "holistic, ecologically-balanced approach to farming" Organic is a self-sufficient system. Can you say the same for your systems?

Lastly as to your growing tomato's in your house.. I doubt you have ever done that, because if you did you would know they need a very acidic soil base.. 6-9 on the PH scale.

  • Btw. monsantos corn does not grow with a "pesticide" in it from "the seed up". They have modified its genes to RESIST a HERBICIDE.. specifically their own product "Roundup". And no the critters do not die when they bite it, they die with everything else when farmers spray roundup, only the GM crop is engineered to survive.

You really need to do your research before you go around telling people that they "dont know shit". Better yet, grow up & stop bawling on subjects u know very little about.

  • see your wrong. MONSANTO HAS CORN CROPS GROWING THE BT BUILT in pesticide.. dude why even bother with a hippie like yourself... Monsanto is an EVIL CORPORATION KILLINS BILLIONS.. i bet you dont even know about Codex Alimentarious taking place in 2009 banning all vitamins and minerals and TOXINS.. and guess whos the number one company stablishing Codex? MONSANTO.. Monsanto's Seds come ROUNDUP READY and the Corn has its own PESTICIDE SINCE SED. so dont talk shit till you research correctly

  • now please dont bother responding.. im bashing on GMO & Monsanto yet u fail to see what their all about.. still you say im right.. get a grip man fight the fight instead of contributing to the EVILness of monsanto.. ROUND-UP READY Canola Seeds and NOT THE SAME AS CORN SEEDS WITH ITS OWN BT BUILT IN PESTICIDE.. kills ALL MICROORGANISMS IN THE SOIL.. fuk man watch "the future of food" and "Genetically Modified Food - Panacea or Poison" then research the FACTS.

  • Your talking about monsanto's yieldgard crops, they have been developed but are not really in circulation with farmers yet. The product that is really destroying Mexico and south America is Round-up. Yes I know all about Codex, and not just from a watching a few video's either. I'm well aware of the danger of malnutrition and the other pitfalls being setup to drastically reduce the worlds populations.

  • But ask yourself this: In a worst case scenario the various supply networks are disrupted:gas and electricity go off, clean water becomes scarce and we are left to provide for ourselves while soldiers guard food supplies.. will your hydroponic setup practically keep you and your own alive in such times? Do you have a diesel engine generator converted to run on veg oil to power your hydro? Do you really think they are just going to fuck with the food and allow everything else to remain as it is?

  • then HELP FIGHT THE FIGHT!!! instead of Wasting u Air! DOWN WITH MONSANTO!!! and YES THE BT CORN IS IN CIRCULATION MAN.. what are you talking about?! for humans and FARM MASS PRODUCED ANIMALS..

  • I am fighting my friend, I'm trying to guide people like yourself into what I believe is the right way to save yourself and the planet at the same time.

Trust me, you want to learn how to grow vegetables the natural way, its reliable and has not failed people for generations. Don't count on a complex system where anything can go wrong, from a septic reserve tank to a malfunctioning pump or timer, power cut or blockage. Too many things can go wrong and it could be your life on the line.

  • yes, very true and very sad facts on MONSANTO-viewed a video where they sued farmers and were given permission by law to come on farmer's property and seize their seeds/grains. Farmers cited that the seeds have drifted and self planted, however, with the patents that the company held, the farmers were found guilty of growing Monsanto's product without having permission to do so. Some 11,000 patents monsanto's holds. They tried to patent produce veggies and fruits that clearly came from GOD.!!

  • i can tell i dropped a bomb in your brain and you have no idea where to beggin talking...listen organic farming is AMAZING!! GREAT! the best thing for our planet.. but reality is i CANT CHANGE THE FUCKING WORLD surrounded by zombies so guess what?! i make grow ORGANIC FOOD HYDROPONICALLY AT HOME.. and its been working fine since then. in fact im MAKING SUPER FOODS at my own house while everyone else keeps sucking MONSANTOS and the goverments Cum.. such Fools..

  • your are honestly a luck person! EVERYONE IS FAT AND SICK HERE.. its sickening... either way i grow my own food and buy locally.. organic all the way with Aeroponics and Hydroponics even tested all my veggies for chemicals..Nada their in fact healthier than the organically grown stuff i buy.

  • I hope you compost the dead plant material and that it finds it's way back to the earth. I hope also that you use the Sun rather then a HPS light or other artificial light. Try not to contribute to the death of our earths delicate ecosystem.

  • Comment removed

  • what are u retarded??? dude get ur facts straight kid.. you sound like Monsanto with their Artificial GrowthHormones or Genetically modified Seeds.. telling the world its for GOOD and to stop world hunger.. yea RIGHHHTTT killing billions its more like it.. dude u cant accept the FACT that Technolofgy helps and can be used for GOOD its different when fuckers fuk the planet up! if i grow tomatoes in my house and feed my fam ORGANICALLY GROWN HYDROPONICS how am i harming the earth and people? Moron

  • @thrivesurvive And where do you think the seeds come from? Don't be silly.

  • Same here.

  • If you feed your plants with a watery chemical soup, that's what they will have to offer for you.

    Good food needs good earth.

It's a shame they call that organic.

  • Hard to believe that artificialy growing anything could be better than nature. Allot of the nutrients absorbed into the grass comes from good soil for most plants. I'd assume the same for wheat grass.

  • They got only one thing right, the grass peaks nutritionally at about 8 days, the rest is just a feeble attempt to validate this sterilized, robotic, profit motivated growing style. Wheatgrass grown without soil can also have fungal problems. They avert this by precise temperature control and ventilation. Artificial light and grain water don't make it right. Good ol' soil grown, natural light, grass is far superior in taste and quality. Not enough space here to extropalate.

  • Wheatgrass grown inside is NOT higher in nutrients, like the wheatgrass grown outside or, at the very least, when exposed to the sun.

  • You damn right Jack~

  • hi can now get the full range of wheatgrass products from my website

  • Doesnt seem to get much sun...
