i just came here to say that i think this is one of the best songs i have ever heard and mayby ever will hear... its just so great... when you listen to this song there comes up a certain feeling, that i think, appears never else... and i like the video too..
Listen to this sound then go listen to Till Broenner 2009 ... on horn minus the mute ... it's not difficult to hear who he emulates (so successfully) and thank god he did it otherwise who else plays with this sound ... so compellingly beautiful
This same song is also on Miles' "Workin'" album, but played much faster, and titled "Trane's Blues." Both are great!

In 1956, the owner of Blue Note Records was a man named Francis Wolff.
Mr. Wolff had come to the United States in 1939, from Germany.
When asked what he thought of this Miles Davis tune, he said he thought it was "weird".
Miles Davis decided to use Mr. Wolff's mispronunciation of the word, in the song's title: "Vierd" Blues.

@JckDupp Ironically...it's a perfectly normal Bb blues head. Not "vierd" at all.
Maybe it was Miles he thought was vierd...he wouldn't have been the only one.
