  • Hello Sunshine, where are you? Hope all is well :-)

  • So Sunshine! gurrrrrrrrrrl! I tried the head-wrap on Saturday while making a quick run to the store. Let me tell you, that headwrap fell off, but I just calmly put that bad boy back on, in the store. Now, I am not at all knocking it, because there are many reasons why mine fell off, 1. it was much shorter than the one you have. 2. I had a steam cap underneath, I was doing a deep conditioning treatment 3. The material of the wrap. But, I loved it and will be rocking it again.Properly! this time!

  • great tips. please check my channel. i have a video how to tie a everyday turban and for winter would love to see your comment!!!

  • I wore headwraps in a turban tie all last semester and always got asked by people if I was muslim. The question seemed so ignorant to me. I was just covering my hair as it transitioned into locs. I adore your scarves!

  • Your headwraps are much more fabulous and stylish than some of those crazy church hats lol

  • I got more positive reactions than I did negative. Later he said he was just joking because he never usually sees me wear anything like this, but he still makes remarks about not liking it. So on that note, I will still be wearing the headwrap. And thank you sunshine for the tutorial!!

  • I wore this style of headwrap to work the other day. I received alot of compliments on it from white, black, and even one asian lady. :) and i loved it. I did however receive one negative comment from a friend that i work with and he was saying that I wasn't african, he made several remarks about wanting me to take it off and never to wear it again. He also said "Go head' dance girl!" I was hard to not get discouraged, but i know if i am confident in myself no criticism will get me down. Thanks!

  • Let us know how long it takes before the ladies in church start wearing head wraps too;-)

  • I love it!!!!thanks for the tip!!!!your beautiful

  • I am a bit out there! but I do get nervous, actually I wore a red head wrap on the school run, it happened to be pirate day, everybody thought that I was in fancy dress!

  • How is your friend from church who stoped wearing her wigs?

  • hardly ever think about the fact that I have them on. They are most definitely my winter protective style of choice! Thanx so much for sharing your experience!!!

  • Since words are only a very small percentage of communication - u are the best judge as to whether or not the lady was offensive. Based on words alone, I think that the comments cud be construed as positive or negative. Positive cud've been out there as in one who starts a fashion trend as opposed to follows one. I wear head wraps and absolutely luv them! My husband loves them also. Other people either compliment me, or say nothing. I've gotten so used to them that I

  • I love head wraps. The only thing I dont like is that I dont have enough scarfs in my wardrobe. I wore a bright head wraps for the first time to work the other day - for some reason I got a load of comments this time then before when I just had a plain black one on. Everyone was positive. Only one guy joked and called me Aladdin, I smiled with him as I know this guy is socially awkward, but I didnt let that affect how wonderful I felt about myself :)

  • Sometimes people just don't know what to say out if their mouths. Smh

I actually have a few pictures with my scarf on Facebook and because my hair was cut and still is I felt some of the feelings you are talking about. Even though I have an African background (mother is African) I don't come off always as so which intimidated me to wrap my hair especially because it was a scarf not meant to hair wrap. Anyway I think I may begin the wrap as much as I can when I find out where to purchase those

  • love This Video The Lady Was Crazy Forget About Her..You Know I Love A Headwrap and you looj beautiful...

  • I don't get what she was thrown off by? What does wearing a headwrap mean to this woman? I don't think she was complementing you but judging you somehow. And anyway nobody asked her opinion anyway. Let me me guess she was black? Keep doing what you doing Sunshine cause you're doing it right!!!!

  • I would def choose not to be offended since, "Love is not easily offended" You look beautiful! I think she was having trouble expressing her thoughts about it.

  • do you..dont worry about wat other people think...i think u look very beautiful.

  • Wear that Crown! From what I've observed through your Vids, U seem to be someone that is not afraid to Do You! How she "meant" it is her issue to ponder. Your instinct was to take it as a Compliment and that says the most about how Beautiful You feel about You! I've started enjoying the Regality of the HeadWrap again this Winter too.

  • I wore a head wrap for the first time Sunday and I got good comments except for my parrents. They totally disagreed with me wearing it but I told them that I like it and I will continue to rock it!

  • @CreationOfTheCreator Really? What was their reason for not liking it?

  • @sunshinelovespeace I honestly dont know. Most of the time if it's out of the norm they don't agree. They didn't agree with me cutting my hair and my mom does not agree with me locking my hair. So I dont know what their exact reasoning is but I believe its because I don't look "normal"

  • You are so beautiful my dear Sunshine. Please do not be offended. People are thrown off because they could be afraid of what they are not exposed too. I found out that covering your head is new to the church folks. If they were to research the woman of the Bible to find they covered as a way of modesty.

  • @katia081565 Thank you. And I won't (be offended). I am learning that people are really thrown off when you step out of the box. I am enjoying my wraps and ultimately that is all that matters.

Thank you so much for watching and commenting!

  • @katia081565 Ironically, the church I grew up REQUIRED us to wear hats as women, stating it as a biblical requirement... I guess things have changed :)

  • after your tutorial video. i rocked my head wrap to a public enemy concert. i got all types of looks and attention. i enjoyed it!! i'm inspired by you. dont worry about it

  • @keena0202 Yay! I am glad you enjoyed it! Watch out now....head wraps can be slightly addictive.

  • You wrap them so pretty. As far as the woman's comment I can see how you would look at her like would do u mean, you really don't know anything about me lol. On the other hand, I wouldn't be offended because I think she just meant your different as in positive peaceful and free-like so that's a good thing to me. :)

  • @sincerelyemani That's what I think too. I think she just didn't really know how to articulate what she thought. Funny thing though. The next time I saw her she seemed weird. So maybe she thought about it after the fact and knows she could have handled it better.

    Thanks for commenting!

  • I will be traveling about 2 to 3 hours to visit Charming charles. P.S. I get those comments like that at church also. Some people are just so used to one type of way and style. When they see something different they are just inappropriate. Some people are naive and not just ignorant. I usually leave those 'in the bubble' people alone. I don't waste my thoughts or energy. I told my husband, seriously every church has at least one. They are the ones that think everyone thinks like them. lol

  • @ressenycva Wow! You are serious about it huh?!?!? Have fun. The store is FULL of so many beautiful things. LOL at your comment!

  • I wore mine the other day and someone asked me: "is this your African look? Is that what you are going for?" -___________- LOL sometimes silence is the best answer!! haha but I love the regal look of a head wrap and will keep wearing them when I please :-) thanks for sharing!

  • @Y3LLOW11 LOL! Yes. Sometimes you gotta kill em with silence :-) Thank you so much for watching and commenting.

  • I love your head wrap!!! No do not take offense to it...you did right. It takes way too much energy these days to figure out what people really mean, lol. Some people do not know HOW to communicate. If you have to say "please, do not take offense to this", then simply find a better way to say it or do not say it at all. It was rude how she approached you about your head wrap. There is a way to ask without being obnoxious.

  • @drroberson4 "If you have to say "please, do not take offense to this", then simply find a better way to say it or do not say it at all. "

My sentiments exactly! Thank you so much for commenting on this! I appreciate it.

  • I wore my first head wrap out and in the public a few days ago, and I was nervouse...but I think my inner confidence began to surface...and I didnt need to have my hair out to be beautiful, and wraps are gorgeous!!! and you know what? other woman see the fiercness, and are inspired to do so as well...or hate as if there lives depended on it!

  • @charris829 LOL! The more you wear them the more confident you will be in them. At least that has been the case with me.

    Thanks for watching and commenting!

  • great vid...& i too wear {HEAD WRAPS} mine for my Holy beliefs as a Hebrew Jew...but i sooooo LOVE IT i've been wearing them since "07" (lil before then really as a style before changed my beliefs who "wudda thunk it" lol)...but for w/e reason people do it I LOVE IT & it do make you feel so Royal just as we should...

  • @KeetWeet Since you wear them all the time you must have a very nice collection of scarves and material.

Thank you so much for watching and commenting!

  • I had a few concerns of my own as well, especially when I first began wearing them out..My skills aren't as great as yours and I'm still trying to learn, but I enjoy wearing them. Although, I must admit I haven't worn them to work...I'm not comfortable doing that and I don't know how the customers will adapt to it...so for now I just wear them when I don't have to be at work...

  • @ClassicUrbanBeauty I too wonder how a head wrap would be perceived in the work place. You have to keep me posted if you ever wear it there... I am interested.

    Thanks for watching and commenting!

  • Glad u walked in love and it's good to think about what u think about :) Even if u did get offended for that second, it's ok cuz ur still growing so the next time someone tries to offend u, you'll overcome that with more ease than the last time. People will always have something negative to say, so u rock what makes u feel pretty with confidence!! Thanks for sharing and i hope Shea Baby is doing better :)

  • You used the right word , " royalty ", in Africa women stand tall when they wear their headwrap :)

  • @Berenice33eunice Yeeessss! I feel like a queen and I can see why they are standing tall, the wrap seems to command it. Thank you so much for commenting and for watching this video.

  • Don't be offended: the woman has no idea about dressing as an individual and some wonder if it has some connection with spirituality or religion. This lady however has undeveloped interpersonal skills. This expression is beautiful on you.

  • @dianesehoward Thanks for the compliment. I agree, she just really did not know how to express her curiosity.

  • lol Sunshine, I think u are just growing in ur spirit and that was an opportunity to get and stay offended but u chose not too! The devil will use people to get u back into ur old way of thinking to stop ur blessings, but u chose to walk in love with that individual so the enemy's plan basically backfired in his face HAHA :) And if that young lady was trying to offend u on purpose, it just shows her own flaws and insecurities for judging.

  • @trinifarlyfe You know what...I agree with what you are saying, Because it was a huge step for me to decide. " I am going to be the woman I was created to be and I am going to start dressing and doing the things I like without thought or worry about what "they" might say." Her comment was the first time, my individuality and my new level of free-ness was questioned, Satan definitely wanted me to shrink back and stop being so boldly me, but it didn't work. Hallelujah!

  • I like headwraps. I am not into super elaborate ones. Just more simple turbans and such. I dont think I would feel comfortable wearing what you are wearing, That is more because I am more low key and that draws a lot of attention. It looks great on you.

  • @JaedaBarbie Thank you. And yes, they do command attention so you have to be ready for it when you rock wraps like mine. Thanks for commenting!

  • I care what people think...but I still continue to express my God given individuality no matter what anybody thinks and I care less and less everyday, but I'll always care to some degree what people think but no one can stop me from being me regardless of their feelings which might be positive or negative...

  • @ieattofu68 I think to some degree we all care what others think. IMO the key is caring more what we think...just like you are saying here in your comment. Thank you for watching and commenting.

  • Used to wear my head wraps like a bun. :)

  • @427skies I haven't done that one, Maybe I will try it soon.

  • no don't be offended LIG you look great and have inspired me . So thanks and God Bless

  • @Cherryone234 So glad I could inspire you in any way. Thanks so much for watching and commenting.

  • First off your head wraps are beautiful on you. Now yes, I agree with M the woman was in the wrong she overstepped her boundaries! In my opinion there are better ways that people can ask questions when they are curious about you. Not saying that I would have went all off on her but I would have asked her to elaborate on her assumptions of me, being as she knew nothing. I guess she thinks that a woman who does not conform to society's image of beauty "out there." I love your style. Love & Light

  • @FistPumpSistah33 Thank you so much for the feedback on this. I appreciate it. And thanks for the love. I think in some ways there was a little shade thrown and I also agree with other commenters too that maybe she just didn't really know how to articulate her thoughts very well.

  • I think practicing and getting in tune with the shape of your head and different tying techniques...some people might do better with jersey material, some with silk, some with woven cotton, some with sweater knit...know what works for you....I enjoy my wraps...

  • @ieattofu68 I do agree that it takes some time to get used to your own head and what works for you. I have learned that by keeping ears in the fabric until I am completely finished, that helps keep my wrap on. I don't know why...but it does. Thanks for watching and commenting. I really appreciate it.
