  • I think Washington is getting it's news from FOX & MNSBC and most believe both are telling 100% the truth. MSNBC is far worse of the two but they both push their sides agenda. MNSBC is by far much more hateful and name calling while FOX tells their truth to place us in fear. This dude is the biggest offender even after the MNSBC "news" guy who says he is a far left Socialist.

  • Drill baby drill. Now there's a nice double entendre.

Here's a new one, by me: We're screwed.

  • FUCKIN" PUNK....what a shithead....

  • Ed, if Obama ever comes to a sudden stop, you're going to go half way up his ass!!

  • Ed, if Obama ever comes to a sudden stop, you're going to go half way up his ass!!

  • We all remember the dumbocrats making almost all areas on land off limits to drill on,right?

  • @cobraman96

the gulf spill shows you why.

  • No,not necessarily,Jesus hasn't done anything yet.Its not up to socialist obama to do anything.

  • @MrTabby5000 Don't you have some cats to feed?

  • @cobraman96

    thats done.

  • @MrTabby5000 Ok,Go give your boyfriend some love then...lol

  • @cobraman96

    done too.

  • Yeah,if you have a car accident we should do away with cars fatass? This guy is a complete moron. All you people that agree w/him never drive, fly or use any petro products again! DAMN HYPOCRITES!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Being from central Alabama, I am distraught over this. This will indeed effect this area, which is already depressed. Think about the ecological impact on top of the direct impact on the people of this region. This happened over sheer negligence.

  • This is an ALARM CLOCK. Its time to start to move away from fossil fuels.

    Today.

If we dont start we are going to be very sorry.

  • @TheSwedechris Yeah, lets all go back in time and ride horses and bikes, right?

  • I love this video. McCain is such a Hypocrite. He's got no back-bone. He'll play whatever tune necessary to get elected. He's even got his own flip-flop web page. 61 times he changed his tune to secure his ass. In the Presidential election, the oil Co's flat out bought his ass. I'll give him some corn-husker kick-back. I hope he gets trashed in the upcoming election - it'll break him. What goes around, comes around.

  • udnity wave

  • Don't drill in the Gulf of Mexico !! Or any other American waters.

  • @patsylieb Don't drive or fly ever again, lest you will be a hypocrite!

  • Obama is not a magician with a magic wand, its up to the private republican capitalism to create jobs, not the government, now right?NOW RIGHT?

  • @MrTabby5000 HE RAN LIKE HE WAS THE MEASSIAH!

  • @cobraman96

He did not run like he was a magician,he is the messiah, but not a magician.

  • @MrTabby5000 Ok,The messiah should be able to make this oil spill go away then, right?

  • So by liberal standards we should do away with cars b/c of car accident? wtf?

  • The special "ed" show....lmfao

  • Kick the F-ing International Bankng Extremists who are also the oil tycoons...KICK THEM OUT OF OUR LIVES...we dont need to depend on their fiat currency or their fossil fuels. GETTUM OUT OF OUR LIVES.

Globalization DOES NOT WORK! They are NOT sophisitcated. They are IDIOTS with WAYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY too much power and control. They are fascist, evil slave masters.

    Globalizatoin is a FAILURE!!!!!!

  • Stop drilling? Who wants to pay $20 bucks a gallon? When this episode passes, it'll go down as a "lessons learned." Besides, without oil mankind is relagated to caveman status. ed's so darned anti-capitalist that he should live in Greece, the socialist spendor of the world! That's right ed, go to Greece & starve with the rest of your socialist buddies!

  • @guatay

Why aren't you helping in the gulf cleanup?Oh I know its not in your backyard. Why wont you let them drill in your backyard?

  • @MrTabby5000 my contribution is made by working in the oil industry. Our company wouldn't let everybody go over there b/c they'd have to shutdown facility operations. And if that happened, you'd be paying out the gazoo for your energy. Also, they have indeed drilled in my backyard as I own mineral rights to my property. Reality check.

  • @MrTabby5000 Don't you have some cats to feed? Stupid liberals.

  • Everything comes back to bite these clowns in the ass. And these red-necks that think they're going to get cheep gas prices are going to find out that they've played the fool once again. That oil doesn't stay here, it goes on to the manipulating market. And if there was enough oil here to effect prices (which there isn't) they'd just cut back in the Middle east or elsewhere to raise them again. The U.S. is finished being an oil leader. But since it's traded in dollars, now they rob us.

  • @HemiHead66 Rednecks?You've spelled cheap wrong!!! lmao

  • @cobraman96 Boy - you're talented! I know how to spell it, fuck-nut, I just wasn't paying to much attention to it. Don't you have anything else better to do besides running around correcting misspelled words on You Tube? Or is because you're one of those dumb-asses that thought drill-baby-drill was all about looking out for your best interest? Well, "WAKE UP" dumb-shit, what's good for the people of this country never even crossed their minds.

  • @HemiHead66 Yeah lets not drill on our shores anymore, then you libtards will complain about getting the oil from middle eastern countries..You fuckers are never happy..Try looking at yourselves once in a while stupid!

  • @cobraman96 If those dumb-ass neo-freaks would've addressed the problem 30 years ago (when they knew this was coming) we wouldn't have to worry about fucking-up all these protected areas. And most of our oil doesn't come from the Middle East. But drill all you want, you'll never stop buying oil from them. They're the only ones left with big untapped fields. Why do you think we're there?? Now that they own us you want to worry about where our oil comes from?

  • @HemiHead66 So no dumbocrats have been in charge in the last 30 years? if you car sooooooo much about the enviroment, stop driving!

  • @cobraman96 You're are kidding, right? Okay. Yeah, we had one piece-a-shit Dumbocrat Prez in the last 30 years. But that's where the Repukes crafted their trade that made them what they are today. I don't think Clinton was in any position to set oil policy. But he did manage to push through his Debt Reduction Act, which brought the deficit down to almost nothing. With the Dems in charge under H W Bush, they did place the ban on drilling in all of these sensitive areas.

  • @HemiHead66 A dumbocrat has been in charge for over a year and a half now...i thought the messiah was gonna fix everything? YES WE CAN....LMFAO

  • we will stop off shore for a time, but there is no problem drilling on land. Its less damage to the environment, and can be stopped faster.

  • The Rush sound alike grates on my nerves, but after the grousing, the important content starts at minute 3:45. Apparently the Acoustic Switch System that costs a half million dollars would have prevented this disaster but it was deregulated under the Bush/Dick policies. The Right does not want to trust government, but why are they willing to trust the Banks and the Oil Companies? MAYBE regulation would cost tax money, but deregulation is MUCH MORE EXPENSIVE.

  • Never want to see any industry environmental destruction of any kind again? Withhold 85% of CEO's and top management's pay. Only pay it back in full two years after they retire or leave the company and no damage appears. Don't worry, it won't cramp their lifestyle, they'd still be taking home more in a week what you make a year.

  • @fctchk yes cap it at 3 million thats enough,if they are successful they get the rest,if a spill occurs the money goes for clean up. Simple solution.

  • These people should all be made to lend a helping hand on clean-up; spill, baby, spill.

  • if obama had his way this never would have happened

  • drill baby drill booby jindall.

  • The destruction of this platform remains unanswered and again government is slow to respond. With all the safeguards and redundant systems this still happened? Yes accidents do happen but this is not a left or right issue it is the inaction taken to curb the result. There is much more to this story than meets the eye..

  • The "acoustic switch" needed to be there BUT let's be fair, the "acoustic switch" might not have stopped this either. Let's not jump to the conclusion that requiring an "acoustic switch" will work as advertised at the required depth, just as the existing safety devices did not work.

  • Increasing the crude oil supply doesn't help anyway! We can't refine what we have!

  • Screwed by Bush and Cheney again, go figure

  • @OhioDemocrat Now you're being reemed by obama/biden!

  • @cobraman96 How do you figure that?

  • Thank you Pap, it's good to hear someone who knows what he's talking about.

The way I see it, both sides of the argument are wrong, and Obama is right. It's not about 'drill baby drill' and it's not about giving up fossil fuels overnight.

The key word here is RESPONSIBILITY. Don't cut corners when a whole ecosystem and the livelihoods of thousands of people are on the line. BP should pay a hefty fine and lose their license.

  • It's about time Pap got on MSNBC! He needs his own show.

  • Thanks again Bush!

  • These Neocons piss me off more than the Socialist Democrats. At least they have a vision, the Neocons can't imagine a world not powered by oil. I have never heard a Neocon talk about other sources with the same passion as they do oil. Not even nuclear gets the same amount of tearful cheering, that's more appropriate for a Roman general returning after a great conquest, that "Drill baby drill" gets.

  • Sarah Palin just said that if we do more of this kinda stuff, we will be MORE secure as a nation.

I guess more non-involvement by the Feds on drilling regulation, less separation of oil & state and the ensuing ecological catastrophe makes us MORE SECURE AS A NATION.

I knew she'd have something brilliant to say about this. Thanks Sarah! You maverick you.

  • The problem with cap & trade is that it does NOTHING to PREVENT pollution. The big polluters - oil, coal, etc. will still be able to fry the environment by purchasing credits to allow them to pollute as much as they want - and any cost will naturally be passed along to us.

It's a half-assed effort. Require research into cleaner energy and production methods under penalty of financial penalties, and make it illegal to raise rates for 6 months if they fail to research.

  • The computer I'm watching this on was made with oil(plastic), though big oil is far being innocent when it comes to transportation policy.

  • Damn, I didn't know Pap was on Ed's show tonight. Good to see him appearing on MSNBC more these days. Next step: to give Pap his own show on MSNBC. :))

  • @GstateBALLER925 - That would be awesome Gstate ;-)

  • Watch BP skip out on any fines. Watch the Norwegian company get sued for a defective 'switch'.

The Bush era is going to be long lived. Just as the Reagan, Clinton still has repercsusions.

  • @882me

As long as red states are effected, they got what they voted for and deserve.Sorry I have no sympathy or pity for red states.

  • @MrTabby5000 Who cares what "color" a state is? No one should lose out to the color of money.

  • @882me

The republican deregulation that they voted for caused this,so let them suffer,as many right wing christian republicans say"the good suffer with the bad, except there be one rightous".

  • @882me

reagan opened the gates to outsourcing and steel mills left, bush 1 went to war with iraq, clinton signed nafta.bush finished destroying our economy and bp destroyed the GOM.

  • @882me As with most companies, BP carries insurance as part of their risk management program. Carrying insurance safeguards a company's shareholders from calamity. There's a huge range of shareholders, including general pension funds. Besides, any additional costs to the company are passed on to the consumer.

  • @guatay

Not if they were negligent,if they had all the safeguards in place and maintained, and the explosion damaged the safeguards, then they would be covered.

  • @MrTabby5000 "U.S. regulators don't mandate use of a remote-control acoustic switch on offshore rigs. The efficacy of the device is unclear...acoustic switches have never been put to the test...," (The Wall Street Journal/Business, 4/28/2010). Legally, it seems BP/Transocean met compliance regs & could be covered. Still, costs are passed on to the consumer.

  • @guatay

Then have a working plan to stop an ultra deep oil volcano. They didn't even have a plan if this happened.

  • @MrTabby5000 That's b/c the primary isolation device (valve) has always worked (Wall Street Journal, 4/28/2010). In my opinion, seems the incident is sure to call for the implementation of the acoustic switch on all rigs operating within US waters even though they haven't been tested/proven. We'll never know, but maybe the switch could've prevented this catastrophe. In business jargon it's called an "unknown unknown."

  • @guatay

Prepare for the unexpected.Either way bobby jindal out there, drill baby drill.

  • @MrTabby5000 Presently, drilling is necessary for the good of the economy, both domestic & foreign since they're tied together. Time estimates for full implementation of the alternative Bloom Box (by Bloom Energy) are at least 5-10 yrs away. The prototype is being used/tested by big-box companies (Walmart, for ex). The box is a major paradigm shift in energy applications.

  • @guatay

So are gulf spills necessary, drill baby drill and drill now.Ask jindall if he wants any more drilling.

  • @MrTabby5000 Go feed your cats loser!

  • @MrTabby5000 The messiah has been in office for a year and a half,Why has he not fixed this? Now your turn to blame republicans and bush as usual.

  • @cobraman96

The rig was in the waters since the Bush administration.

  • @MrTabby5000 Holy shit,The flood in nashville tn happened while obama was in office?? It was an accident stupid!!!

  • @cobraman96

You said accident then the private corporations that caused the accident are responsible.

  • @MrTabby5000 Yes,like your parents are responsible for accidently having you!

  • @cobraman96

The republicans were in charge of regulating that issue.

  • @MrTabby5000 Obama and the democrats have been in charge long enough to take some responsibilty for shit that happens! I see his approval ratings slipping while unemplpoyment rises!

  • Everyone wants their cheap gas. Will the people of Louisiana still support the oil companies? You bet.

  • @MilanTbay - The Gulf Coast is full of Sarah Palin supporters. These were the men & women who cheer every time they hear 'drill baby drill'.

I'm betting the families DIRECTLY affected might change their politics a bit. The families not DIRECTLY affected will probably get more defensive about their god-given right to cheap gas & drill baby drill... I can't wait to see what happens with the attitudes down here.

    |...absolutely fail safe...|

    More jive from a lawyer.

  • 1:58

Yes Cap and Trade is a bad word.

    We need a carbon tax.
