The scars ... yes, well that's why Ramu is at the shelter. He was just a wee babe when he was torn apart by dogs. He almost didn't survive. They had to sew the little feller up. The scar is the zipper on his monkey suit.
@ropiedote Well, its good that he survived. I think monkey's are very interesting and that the snapping sound they make is to calm their kin down while they're grooming. Its neat that what they think their finding is actually human hair, and as they lick it they bite off split ends and dead hair fibers. Its really interesting.
I believe it's because he has come out of his enclosure for some playtime. That area (where the video is taken) is not fully enclosed, so they don't want him taking off.
I'm curious as to why this monkey is chained? Surely if it is at a sanctuary, the emphasis should be on the animals living as natural a life as is possible... Not meaning to sound accusitory, just wonder if there's a specific reason...
I love to watch these animal/human videos. There is something almost tranquil about it. Maybe if we humans could get along like this, this world would be a better place. Thank You for sharing!

When is he gonna get released again?
Windamor 4 months ago
@Windamor He won't ever be released because he was found badly injured as a baby. He does not have the skills to survive in the wild.

This monkey is so lovely. But are the chains around the neck really necessary?

@pantaholic
Almost surely because of not having enough funds for a safe enclosure affording natural space and a natural, tree filled environment.
