This looks a lot like hockey on the Coleco Telstar. I'm surprised there weren't a lot of lawsuits, considering that a lot of video games looked very similar back then.

It was such a new media (videogames) that it was hard to make a lawsuit. Each time you played the game it was different, so how is it the same as other games. Atari's Pong is really just a rip off of Magnavox's Odyssey. It's funny that they were the company telling others to not copy them and they even "booby trapped some of there arcade machines so others couldn't copy them. Hippocrates. Eventually the layers and plaintive got smarter in the late 80's and 90's.

Yeah but Atari was sued for that and they made an out of court settlement although they kinda tricked Magnavox back then with the settlement i guess. But to be true Bushnell first game was also a copy of Spacewar and i dunno if he got the permission of that or not. The Main thing is the Pong game was clearly better to handle than the Magnavox one althou in my opinion the Magnavox one was kinda inferior. But why did they make the 500 (76) in color and modern and this one in bw?

Actually, compared to many of the other "pong" systems I own, this has got to be one of the best. It's a lot of fun if you play with people who know what they are doing.

yea, we should be fairt right... it was the dark age of gaming, and i doubt that they know what bugs was? so we can atleast say it was beggining of gaming era.

No, I have acouple other earlier pong systems, but they don't have any of the options that the 3000 has. How is the 4000?
