they use ted nugent because the great Charlton Heston is deceased, they need a star as a spokesman, and Tom Seleck is still busy as a working actor. lol
I'm a member of the NRA too but did you know that 0% of those membership fees go toward protecting our 2nd Amendment rights? You need to donate money to the NRA ILA to protect out gun rights. I'm also a member of the GOA and the Second Amendment Foundation (those fees do support the 2A rights from what I understand. Nice build btw! I just finished a BCM build with magpul furniture.
Big fan of BCM, my AR's major components are all from them and has been flawless. Is that an aftermarket mag release button?
Any experience with the Fail Zero BCG? I'm about ready to "pull the trigger" and try one out. About $250 and they claim it requires no lubrication. From what I've read, it's true.
@silvermediastudio The mag release you're looking at is a CA legal "bullet-button" device. It prevents the shooter from removing the magazine with their finger.
I personally have no experience with Fail Zero. Check out youtuber "MrPicky510", I'm pretty sure he's got a failzero.
@limekid Ah.. more CA firearms silliness. I wonder how many criminals with illegal firearms in the state have their bullet buttons properly installed. My guess is the count is fewer than Schwarzenegger's mistresses. haha
Checked out MrPicky, he has a Yankee M&T BCG it looks like.. not too many good reviews of the FZ on YT. JamesYeager's student put about 3000 rounds through one though with no failures & easy to clean. They're about $100 more but I think I'm sold.
lol "I don't know wtf that means" i appreciate your honestly. i like the omega. I've been thinking about one since I had to pin and weld my break on my 14.5" because atf laws are fucking stupid and since im a retard i wanted to keep it a kiss gun so i moe'd the whole thing and know i want a rail...........nice vid
@limekid ya it does suck but i have an a.r.m.s sir on the way and traded the old moe for a kac grip.hopefully it will satisfy my needs for a rail system eventhough it looks likes something from a spaceship. I will probably end up hating it though. we will see
I go that same shamagah or however you spell it, about 2 wks away from my purchase of a 20" rifle upper from BCM to make babies w/ my essential arms lower and magpul UBR
So I am lookin to get into my first AR, and I want your opinion on my top two choices. Which would you say is best? A Rock River mid length, or a Bravo mid length? I am talking uppers only and just the heavier barrels, not the M4 profile. Thanks
ok so I know this video is kind of old, so I'm sure by now you've had a chance to use the AFG.
just my two cents. I just made my first modifications to my AR(also my first AR) and I picked up the same Daniel Defense Omega rail as you have (7.0 carbine length) and I couldn't decide whether I wanted the AFG or RVG so I got both. I must say, in my opinion, the AFG is awesome! it feels a little weird at first, but it makes the rifle feel more solid when you whip it around from target to target.
I felt completely opposite of the way you do. In my experience, I was able to get higher up on the gun using a stubby (RVG) vert grip with a "hybrid" grip. So two of my fingers are wrapped around the fore end and two are wrapped around the vg. IMO, this was the most sturdy grip. With the AFG the gun felt top heavy to me and I couldn't really put it exactly where I wanted. Also IMO, it increased fatigue.
Is this a BFH or Standard 16" mid length upper? I'm planning on getting the same BCM upper and I'm not sure if spending the extra $100 for the BFH is worth it? Great looking rifle btw...
Nice rifle, good job. Respectfully I'm calling bullshit on the DPMS bolts you have "seen" "snapping in half." Usually that type of failure is a bolt lug sheared off with abuse. I too have a BCM, but the wife has a DPMS. It is by no means BCM and I know all the reasons why, but the bolt ain't gonna "snap in half." And yes, in my opinion BCM makes one of the best and makes THE BEST BCG and bolt around. Good job talking about joining NRA. Without NRA we would have lost our rights a long time ago.
Ted Nugent is their spokesperson? Well, I'm proud that the NRA can see past his atheism. That's cool. I can't stand it when conservatism gets too closely linked with religious fanatics and thumpers.
BCM makes the best quality AR's made 2day. Other companys put out good rifles and parts but compare them 2 BCM spec. 2 spec. and theres nothing that can touch them.
@DANGERTASTIC I actually ended up selling the rail because I was only running a VG on it. To me there's no need for the extra weight of a rail (even a light weight one like the Omega) if you're not gonna be bolting on all kinds of accessories.
I checked out the build man, looks like a solid one for sure.
@limekid Ya man I agree, The omega rail is a bit "pricey". I want a midwest ind. rail. They look really good. Not sure if you seen my rifle but I have a combat light an VFG mounted. The handguard I have works good though.
@nomadicexplorers I'm surprised no one has said anything until now haha.
I got into a vicious fight with a bobcat. He got my finger, I got his life.
JUST KIDDING, haha. I lost it due to cancer, had no choice. Out of all the fingers to lose, the pinkie is probably the best haha. I may make a video at some point.
@blt556 Since this video I've taken mine off. I still have it and still really like it but, I don't see the need for it since I'm only running a VFG and not a light or any other kind of accessory.

limekid 1 year ago
Hi, nice video, thanks for sharing.
"Mil-Spec" is a term that gets thrown around alot, but the military does have a specification for the steel used in their rifle barrels.
MIL-B-11595E details the alloy content of the steal in their rifle barrels to be Chrome-Moly-Vanadium (CMV).
MIL-B-11595E also details the certification process for the steel from the foundry
But, The best barrels are the CMV "hammer forged" barrels. However MIL-B-11595E does not require this.
