  • i have a pair of faded black 501s button fly and fit great im wearing them out but thier so comfortable

  • Actually I'm not 100% sure but I think it was in the leg width. I saw some measurements somewhere of the old ones and it was different. Sorry, don't have something more specific.

  • You should note that the 505s have changed this year.

  • @liamvg how did they change

  • All I know is the 501' seem to shrink to conform to my body better the the 505's. I have been wearing levis exclusively since 1969. Lately I ha tried the 514's and I like these allot. Hate fighting the 501's buttons.

  • so?

  • Ralphanizer, until I looked at your comment I thought I'd set my speakers to mute!

  • WHAT?

  • Now there is less space in the 505's crotch and the height of the waist line has been lowered 1" thereby making them low riders !!!!!!!!

  • i got 505s because i cant find 501s that fit. ima big dude so i cant rock the 501s but i guess thats the way she goes

  • the jeans on the left look disgusting

  • i love both.

  • 514 welder jeans are the ones I like the most and there more confortsble.

  • 505's are slightly baggier with a zip fly. I rock the 501's.

  • Le 501 a des boutons, le 505 a une fermeture éclair. Le 501 est plus bandant que le 505

  • Trying to figure out Levis is a frustrating task, but in addition to the lack of a pitched waistband and a button fly, the 505's do sit slightly higher on the waist and they have a slightly tapered leg. Despite the more snug fit of the 501's, I believe the 505's are actually the more fitted of the two. My understanding is that the design of 501's is supposed to be like the legs on overalls, meaning that they're pretty much the same width from top to bottom, whereas the 505's are fitted for shape

  • Neither is "low rise" compared to the other. Both jeans have a 11-1/4" rise. The 501's appear to have a low rise (at 0:59) because they 501's ride higher in the back than in the front, whereas the 505's ride level all the way around.

  • the 501's have less space in the thighs and crotch. 505 ftw

  • levis 501.. the older the better! still the no.1 jeans..

  • Very exciting video, especially the audio!

  • 501's are lower rise than 505's, you can tell by the positioning of the belt loop around 0:59

  • only difference i see is the color and the buttons instead of a zipper is that it?

  • The only real difference is the zipper instead of buttons at 505. The color is variable in both jeans. I like both.

  • ? I like American Eagle

  • explain it!

  • Very useful, thank you.
