The piece was first performed (way back in 1991) with a general purpose processor (hence the name) but it only uses a simple stereo delay. (.5 seconds left, 1.0 seconds right. Parameters never change, although the listener might suspect they do.) These days I use a small MAX/MSP patch in a laptop.
