Yes, you can download VS2010 Express for free. It is highly recomended to own the full version but for beginners it is quite enough. I am sure you can find a way how to get to VS ultimate for example.

Hmm, you got me :(. I am not really sure. There supposed be four languages supported in VS2010. I am interested just in VB and C# (I don´t remember the other two). All four are "members" of .NET framework. Let me guess the only difference be HDD space required. there is probably only C# syntax and help supported in VSC#. But that is just guess. In case you need just C# you should be fine.

So i stuck to JavaScript and C++ because those were easy and they were easy to find too. You should look up: thenewboston he has tons of tutorials, just look it up scroll down until you find a funny picture and the header says thenewboston.

@TheRainbowPuma Go to microsofts website and look for Visual C# 2010 express edition. I've got it, its free, and it is pretty easy to get used to. I just bought a book today that teaches you c# although its for version 3.0 its still usable for VC# 2010 express.

The full Visual Studio gives you lots of lovely things you may wish to use in your apps, but the express editions are usable for pretty much anything you'll create.
