Best time for me was 26.68 on my next visit after this crash. Bearing in mind this car only has a 1000cc bike motor its not too bad compaired to the monster 500-600hp stuff!
Also the car holds the Shels class record set by my co-driver at 26.48 at the same event(from memory)
For your information in its debut season & first for me in a single seater at the top National championship. The car came first & second at every event (10 times out of 11, every one entered except for the one I crashed at)!
It was fixed & running again 5 days after my whoopsie, incorperating a change to crosply rear tyres, braking the Loton Park hill record that weekend by a second, on route to three class records in the same year.
Newyankee01- What an ill informed arrogant turd you are, passing comment about a car you odviously know nothing about.
The car is superb, but as we are the first to ever use a 1000cc engine in this chassis, due to the lack of rear wieght bias we had a few problems getting the car to work its radial tyres properly, contributing to this incident (Plus I was a little over exuberent having been just .7 of a second off the class record on my first ever run up this hill in this car)
good job it was a piece of shit and not a p34 or something. It was good enough just to get to that bit the car looked hard thats the other thing shelsley is amongst the worst for safety concerns. The car could have easily gone into the trees and a car will hopefully not go into a crowd. It just a small step up from ground level rally spectatorship
New Yankee01 you truly are a numpty, Darren and brody (the drivers) are some of the best and most skillfull and flamboyant drivers in british hillclimb. Comparing there car to a p34 is ridiculous That is a car from 1976, although it would have a power advantage having a dfv cosworth puting out over 400bhp, i would stake my mortgage on the car you hate so much ( Force ) rinsing it.
clearly not set up right
