They're flares as you can see. They don't keep a consistent space from each other and they get dimmer.

it is possible that for some particular fuctions that they may be required to lower their energetic leve so as not to interfear with some type istruments or interaction's of some sort. when they become invisible they can be observed in the near ultra violet range just a hundred to few hundred nanometer of photon waves per second than you can see with your eye's(visible light spectrum). i forget what visible light is like 80nm -300nm or something.

That one did look freaky. Mt theory: I suspect that it lite too early when they shot it into the air. The sudden stop is when the parachute opened prematurely because it fired to early. The rapid drop is because the parachute probably got torn from the premature opening. I have to admit I haven't seen that before so I am just speculating.
