Nice review. I was wondering if the sound quality using the built-in speakers is good. I have an Acer Apire One and the sound quality is really poor. It's not that loud and very tinny. How is the sound quality with the Samsung NC 10. Is it loud? Is it tinny or squeaky?

The silver coloured one isn't a fingerprint magnet due to its matte design.

I would recommend upgrade it to 2 GIG RAM for max performance...It's easily swapable and a 2 gig stick is about only $30....WOW!!!

Just got a Samsung Nc10 myself today and wow its amaizing for its size and price and pc world who sold it to me said it would never be able to load world of warcraft well ive just loaded it and it just shows what pc world know not only does it load it it works and the frame rate is 20fps which isnt bad and playable so what ever pc world tells you dont listen tothem lol.. best notebook out there is the samsung nc10

1) How about heat when used lets say for 5 hours? It gets just warm or hot?

2) playing video let's say a DVDrip how long the battery lasts?

3) there were some comments about the trackpad which is too small. Have you any problems or you have easily got used to it?

4) performance wise, are you happy with it? have you experienced delays and in which cases?

5) if you have upgraded RAM to 2Mb have you seen noticeable difference after opening applications for few hours?

Its MATT plastic, not shiny, therefore fingerprints will only show up on the screen, the samsung logo and the silver edge.

Yes, you can have up to 2GB Ram, upgrading is easy. single screw pannel on the bottom of the unit

it depends what you mean by advanced , i use programs like itunes, msn windows med, with windows media player etc streaming video aswell with the 1gb ram it runs a dream

I am extremely satisfied with my NC10. It starts very fast, battery life is reeeeaally good. With CoreAVC Codec i managed to play 720p HD movies with nearly 9GB of size. And it runs perfectly smooth. No slowdowns. I also installed office 2003, which runs fast. I also installed some older games like Quake 3 or Max Payne 2. They run good. The next i'll install is warcraft 3.

In general i can say: This netbook is the perfect mobile machine! Oh and the keyboard is perfect in size!
