He may be technically better but he has NOTHING on the soulful, bluesy sounds that slash creates, and in my mind anyway, soul is EVERYTHING in music. If a song is played technically perfectly, with complex riffs and solos, but is played without meaning, well it may aswell not fucking exist! Both guitarists are awesome, with very different styles, but come on! Given the choice, I'd listen to Slash EVERY TIME!
