modern music is just awful. i know each generation has its own music, and I though my generations music would go on forever, but its dead now. Very sad.
Went to see AFOS in 1996 on their 'Light At the End of the World' tour in Florida. It was in a bar type venue. Got there really early and was having a beer and saw Mike Score just chillin and talked for a bit. Cool guy.
the guy singing is my uncle my fathers brother, he says when he looks back in his musical past, he feels like it was another life, and he told me that back then he had all the girls he wanted. lol
@Winky395 yea, the 80's was and are the best years. anyone with ears born in the late 70's should consider the 80's the best. music was innovative, didnt sound like some stupid ass tv show that should have been cancelled after the 1st year
@SuperStarhawk i agree i only listen to 80s and 90s and some later 70s this is real music. The music after became commercial and shite. The music industry had become too repetitive, too commercialised. We are all going back to 80s i can see why
@MultiDannyboy89 i am kinda stuck in late 70s and 80s sounds, i guess it is because of the wide range of experimental sounds, which later became genres. The artists and djs created sounds, formed sounds. It all started back then, nothing much inspires me today musically, i always get inspired by 80s
@djmusicjac 80's is when commercialization started with artists like Rick Astley and even in rap already with Vanilla Ice. If anything that's the starting period of the downfall which developed really slowly throughout the 90's, not that noticeable yet. After the milennium is when it started to become an obviousity.
Hasn't anyone heard of "The Killers"? Pretty close. I saw a live clip of them and they even quoted Echo and the Bunnymen at the end of one of their songs.
OK I seriously have to get this album... never heard of AFOS before (i'm only 18) but they sound awesome... isnt this stuff coming abck into fashion?? reminds me of stuff like We Are Scientists, Klaxons, Gossip...
this song truly kicks ass, its the best one by AFOS....and this new wave stuff is coming back...the Flock is on tour with naked eyes, belinda carlise and the human league.
If you are 18 and like this sound may I suggest more to you from my beloved era? I have tons of this stuff. Anyone who likes the last of the innocent age I'm pleased to share. There was also Talk Talk, Ultravox-reap the wild wind, so much more.
Their haircuts were to blame the 80s' tastelessness alone but they still made great tunes and this one in particular blew me away completely first time I heard it. Great lyrics and great tune.
I agree totally. There's one great band from Canada I know, but they're still Gen X and founded in the '90s so it kind of complicates things. I'm betting theirs is the last actual music in my lifetime.
@Ficozzy not sure what that means, but i think we can say goodbye to "GOOD" music. music hasnt been good, and by that i mean 'radio music' , in several years. 2000-2010 sucked much ass. everything on the radio sounds like bad american idol, and american idol was already bad
@Ficozzy what is decadence of occident? is it a term? ideology? a book title? It's the first time I search on google and not find any good explanation... hahaha
Saw them live in Pickwicks Liverpool. around 1981. Great night...Great memories

I like the part after 1:23 ... the playing with the ups and downs of music is unique
Wonderful music from the always appealling electronic wave of the 80's!

A band that copied this (and Gary Numans) sound would be great today!

Man, I would love to form a band that recorded new songs in this genre. Where are my Simmons drums and my stick bass guitar?!
