what books did use for reference while doing all the work on the boat. I am doing a project on an i/o wellcraft airslot 1976 and am needing a book on the boat not the motar.
i am doing a boat project and was wondering how did the foam stringer work out?? are they strong? Also i am doing videos on my rebuild the channel name is
People will have all manner of comments but stick with it. You will have more pride in your project than any other boat owner you will run into. Set milestones and don't forget the kitchen! When in doubt clean up, it works! 25 years of boat building has taught me that. Still working on my project and have built two shops for it. 38'.
Looks good mate! you really have taken it right back to square one! hows your progress been as of late! you must be in summer now and back working on it again! Here in australia we can still work on the glassing in winter coz its 25 deg during the day! Im working on a hull at the moment too, will post vids and pics soon! really enjoying watching your project unfold! keep it up man!
I have been viewing many o fthe boat repair projects adn yours is very detailed. i have an old tunnel hull hydroplane that I bought about 29 years ago and it has been in storage ever since. I now plan on removing the rotted wood and working on it.
It is fiberglass with a bulsa core and the stringers adn transom are in rough shape.
Thanks for the video's. Keep them coming and I will look forward to the completion of your project.
I don't know about the aluminium..I think the expantion/contraction rate might be different than the epoxy/glass and the bond between the two during stress might pop. You could always back up the finished transom with an alum strip to displace the pull on the bolts. Good luck and show me how yours is going when you get to it.
let me know when you next video is up great job! i dont think people know how much work you have done so far! WOW I was in shock of how much you sanding you have done!!!
wait a minute wasnt it 7 degrees? , doesn't the "glass epoxy need like a degree of 30 degrees , now the water stays in the layers = osmose

@AweSomo84 Any of the epoxy work I've done has been in the 70s to 80s. Well within the 7-30Celcius range.

Thanks, It's under a snow covered tarp until April. Then back at it. Although the kitchen remodel is going to put a kink in it for a while...

I dry fitted the stringer assembly and it fit perfect. I'll glass it in place and then button up for the winter.
