    rass kass produced the beat

  • @trademark1989est This track was produced by Vooodu, who did most of his older songs, they were in the same group called Western HemisFEAR, this song was also co-produced by Ras Kass.

  • I lost my copy of this... thank you for posting!

  • this is probably one of the best tracks dude has ever done but that fucking mandingo lyric has always bothered me. he rejects kriss kringle on the basis of his cultural mandingo-ness then in the very next fucking line condemns him by calling him, uh, satan. has ras kass ever made sense for an entire song

  • DOPE SAMPLE

  • can someone give me to the link for this becuz i tryed download it off the info on this video but it said that it couldnt be found can someone help plz

    peace =)

  • Yeah time 2 start playing the Ras Kass Christmas song!!!!

  • This beat alone screams "I'm from New York!!!". I assumed he was from the East Coast when I first heard him. When I heard he was from the WC i was like "the fuck?"

  • @PlatinumBD

    Well thats stupid...

  • @ratm1211: Well I have about 11 thumbs up's that disagree with you.

  • @PlatinumBD

Oh shiiiit! Eleven people??? That sure is a majority!

  • @ratm1211: How about you hop off my dick?

  • @PlatinumBD Rass Kass was already mature enough to realise the shallowness of all this geopolitical bullshit between blacks.

  • @guessone please explain sir

  • @PlatinumBD a lot of LA beat heads were deep into NYC shit back in the 90s.. everyone from Dr Dre to the World Famous Beat Junkies, Cut Chemist.. all did mixtapes with NY shit being a huge influence

on the flip side a lot of NYC dudes felt the WC style.. like Beat Nuts

  • @eyesea whoah the west coast has their own style that is equally as great as NYC. It goes both ways both coasts were influenced by each other. Lets not get biased.

  • @oneindachamber thats what im sayin... both coasts influenced each others styles. personally i prefer west coast shit but thats cuz i grew up with it

  • greatist westcoast mc

  • Am I hearing Audio Two's drums in the back? I might be going crazy but I keep hearing "Go Brooklyn!".

There's gotta be some audio two in there..

  • Yep, that's "Top Billing".

  • You have some good ears my friend.

  • talent

  • Ras Kass uses his vocabulary like a weapon. One of the most well-worded emcees to do it. I can't tell you how many times I have ran to the dictionary, after listening to one of his songs.

  • @TheAtotheK yea yu right

  • @TheAtotheK man your vocabulary sucks then lol, honestly.

  • @BillStrasser hahah got a question for you, BillStrasser- or anyone else who can answer it for that matter. What the hell does guaduct mean? He says it at 1:53, I never have to look up words but even google won't tell me that one

  • @TheAtotheK Like krs!

  • @TheAtotheK,you should just keep the dictionary close by if ya have to refer to it that much

  • i thought it was a sample from nat king cole

  • Nah! It's from A Christmas song by Bing Crosby. Nat King Cole could have also done it along with alot of other crooners! But I beleive Bing did it first! Peace!

  • This guy's tight! Smooth style!

  • it is nat king cole on the track

  • yes

  • Underrated Classic. Ras Kass at his best

  • no doubt

  • put this on jamglue please?

  • I start hearing the original Nat King Cole song around this time of year. I always think of this song when it's played in the department stores

  • dope !!!!!!

  • ras didnt sell much cuz a lot of his cds didnt go on shelves. like van gough this track is 17 on it

  • does any REAL LA born hip hopper remember seditious beats...

  • hell yea. it came on after the wake up show. hosted by fidel it was the shit.

it was putting us up on laws passed that would effect us, played song even the wake up didnt based on social condition and status... it was the shit.

is that the same fidel that goes the quinto sol shows?

i have an album of his... think its the same one?

  • lol minus me, even though its so true. Lyrically he couldnt be touched when soul on ice came out. Then it all went to shit after he came out of jail.

  • Ras was the ILLEST in the game. Too bad he fell off somehow :/.

  • does anybody have a clear version of this cut, and not from the wake up show or lime wire?

  • dunno if you're gon find a clear version bro unless you go to Ras Kass himself. This is the only way I've always heard this song goin back to 1996.

  • thats not true I have a perfect version of the song along with an instrumental

  • yo wheres the immortal technique version that i can download i would really like it man please

  • Could you please up it then. I know a lot of us Hip Hop heads would greatly appreciate it.

  • dude ras kass is above like 90% rappers levels cuz hes like a genious but usually he raps about stuff thats personal and doesnt make sense to other people like canibus.. i personally think apathy from jedi mind tricks, canibus and ras kass have similar styles

  • a genious you say?

  • you makin fun of my spelling son? genious genius what ever man who cares you understood what i said whats more important

and edit.. not Apathy from JMT but Jus Allah

  • i found some nice shit n saved it on my favorites come take a look

  • Soul On Ice is a classic... Ras Kass is a lyrical beast... BUT, does anyone agree that he has SEVERELY fallen off since he came out of jail... his style, delivery, flow and lyrics have all gone WAY down hill... Damn Shame! I'm still waitin for the Golden State Warriors Project! Why did that never happen when Xzibit and Ras were in their prime... Saafir is ill too, sounds like Roc from Heltah Skeltah...

  • dude ras kass just needs some stoupe beats and he'd definately get world famous for this shit lol

  • THIS BEATS DOPE AS FUCK!

  • Sampler on Ice demo tape

  • dammmmmnnnn...

  • yea for the drums

  • ras kass top 5 of all time lyrically. soul on ice was a top 5 classic filled with knowledge, metaphors, and lyrical complexities beyond the average man understanding.

  • One of the illest tracks of all time... But hey, where can I find that picture? I was going to upload an old Kass song which would fit perfect with it, but I can't seem to find it

  • One of my favorite tunes.

  • One of my favorite Ras Kass songs. This was also released as a 12'' with Anything Goes remix on the B side. The quality is obviously better than the one from the sampler tape.

  • Yeah with the C-Arson F-style on it. I wonder if it's posted up here yet?

  • another lyrical drenched tune ...he got ill rhymes and patterns... love it :)

  • Major props, this song is amazing.

  • You can get more early Ras Kass tunes from the Unofficial Ras Kass Home Page, google "Ras Kass Real Audio Downloads"

  • ras kass, please take your lyrical compexities back about a decade, with a new year's twist. whoever can get in contact with him, please tell him immediately to turn it up a notch. I should've never heard his early works!

  • colder than a nuclear winter
