  • That drummer is awesome.

  • That drummer is annoying

  • But, from 6:24 to the end, who hell plays the Pikasso?!? lol

  • that bass line is tricky rhythmically. larry is king.

  • Gotta love it.

  • what album is this on?

  • @bananachuck124 Still Life

  • take that Lil' Wayne

  • A very groovy, minimalist (live) version of this. I dig.

  • Okay, anything cooler than this?

  • Okay, anything cooler?

  • who is strumming the harp at the end of the tune?

  • @fabekuso It's a 42 string guitar....you should check out Trio live 99-00...make sure it's LIVE with Sparrow on bass.

  • genius.....

  • One of my favorite PM composition ! a very great one !

    Thanks

  • Man is unprecented!!!

Can appear onstage w/ Jeff Beck, Carlos, and not be diminished.

When reincarnated, It is He I'd like to return as. He 'Gets-it'

    As does Mays, Rodenby, Blamires...etc!

  • great bass line and great groove from bill...

  • Pure genius. He took something old and reliable as the Guaguanco and re-worked it for moden jazz using tuned instruments instead of drums. "Every instrument is also a drum", John Coltrane

  • it had to be the mushrooms...No. Just kidding. I so love the sincerity. It just is without sounding like its trying to Prove that it is..like treesand cats and squirrels and even, real people.

  • This makes me so happy.

  • yay !

  • i love this piece!!!

  • Yeah completely. But I still prefer the sound of Paul Wertico... Especially this song. He constantly fits in with Metheny's sound perfectly.

  • bill kinda rush lil bit here and there..

  • Stupendo!!! Grande Larry al basso...

  • a great musician pat, a genius!

  • what was that "hard sound" on the ending(like pikasso tune)?

  • hey not spamming or anything but check out this version from the north sea jazz fest

  • Please never let this man be unable to write the beautiful ballads that ooze from his fingertips in harmonious glory. He is a genius and his talent is never ending. Thank you for posting this beautiful and memorable song. A favorite.

  • this is cool!, Lucky for those musicians, the drummer and bass player, to play togerther with Pat... I wish someday I could play with Pat as well =)

  • "Those musicians". Hmmm... I don't think I should have to introduce a musician/drummer as prolific as Bill Stewart.

As for Larry Grenadier, he's one of my favorite players today, along w/ guys like Drew Gress and Ben Allison. Check out the stuff he's done w/ Brad Mehldau, or the Fly trio he co-leads w/ Jeff Ballard and Mark Turner. Very happening stuff, let me tell you.

    Cheers, mate
