Actually Fair Use is not a law at all and is usually applied as an arguement by those wishing to flaut the law. Just thought I would clarify this. :) As a parent of a minor and as a person who had a net-identity before YT or the video revolution I am very conscious of infringement of rights in that respect and I would suggest that if someone requests that something is not used, then it ought not be. It is a MORAL issue and NOT a legal one.

Good issue! I don't know what the laws are in the US but here in Australia if you're in the public sphere people can take your photograph and use it (legally) however they like. So it's legal to take a picture of me walking down the street but not through my window. -I assume the paparazzi operate like this?

Generally speaking, here in the U.S., if it's visible from a public right-of-way it's fair game for the camera.

What a strange controversy. Because there's no copyright license for regular non copyrighted videos no one would usually complain. I'll definitely listen to the show to hear opinions.

There is no such thing as "regular non-copyrighted videos". Every video is copyrighted the minute it was shot by the photographer. It's a basic right by copyright law.

I might one of these days. Actually, you can just google the term "copyright law" and take the first hit on the list. It's the U.S. Copyright office and it's all there in black and white. It's to just video, it doesn't matter if you drew a sketch on the back of a napkin, or typed an email to your aunt. By law, it's automatically copyrighted the instant you made it.
