I'm really disappointed about this thing , I got it and the Temps control give me so fake temps , I really don't know what close with it , its shows HUGE different info compared SpeedFan .
Thanks for showing a comparo between the Zalman and Scythe, the Scythe clearly looks to be the easier one to control and I agree it does look better than the Zalman. Just wondering, is the Skythe still performing and functioning o.k. after a year?
@nata911 None taken. I don't purport to know everything! HAHA! ...and you gave me your criticism in the correct manner. Usually I have people yelling at me and calling me names. :(
@0pTicaL823 Yes, I do like the FC-5...but I don't have 6 individual fans that I need to know temps and speeds. IMHO, I think it is only necessary to have two channels, maybe 3...one channel for inlet fans, one channel for outlet fans, and maybe a third channel for a loud memory fan like the Corsair 60mm fans. I don't see why it would be necessary in a build to change the RPMs of individual fans. Doesn't seem very useful.
@Trubyd44, did you notice any overheat of the controller itself at full load? cause mine gets very hot... =( Maybe a fan to cool the fan controller that controls the fans that cool the case for a cooler setup? xDDDDD
I'm always looking forward seeing clips from you and it's safe to say that you're doing a sterling job with this unboxing & review. If anything to "complain" about would be that the rear side of the fancontroller box is missing in your review photage, would have been nice to see it, but hey - there's google.
@Wallonische No, I haven't noticed any heating problems. It may get warm, but I hadn't noticed it getting warm enough to cause an issue. Yeah, someone else told me about missing the box's back. Oops!
By removing the Fan guard from your Delta fan you should be getting 5-10 db lower noise depending on the fan speed! get a normal dust filter or something.
@toolband86 I could...but the fan is VERY dangerous. It could really take a finger off if you weren't careful. Honestly. I can put this fan on the floor and the output from it can move a ceiling fan!!!
Good review. I have 2 Scythe Kaze Master fan controllers(not the pro version) and I think they are brilliant. Good build quality, functional and sensibly priced.
@sbvikings30 Sorry, the 120mm fans are: XIGMATEK XLF-F1253 and the 140mm fans are: XIGMATEK XLF-F1453 You can purchase them from performancepcs. I will send a link to your email.
It looks very good. And I must try and get my fan controller up so I can use the Delta fan. And I fixed the H50 thing last night so now the Corsair logo is the correct way ;)
@ft01061990 Well, something that I missed in the review. THANKS FOR REMINDING ME! There is the fan error LED in the middle. It goes off when one of the fans die...but I would still rather have the power meter and such there.
@ft01061990 Just looked at it...it looks ok, but hell I don't need a clock built into the front of my computer. My computer screen tells me, my wall clock tells me, my watch tells me...sheesh! :D
@VolcomTomatoe I tell you what...I am very impressed with the functionality and professional look. It's not like those plasticky...toys that have graphs and such for fans.
@VolcomTomatoe Did you see the pop-up? It's $39.95 USD. Oh, about the painting, I have already planned on doing that...video to come. Thx for your comment!

I hate how the Controllers with the options i like look terrible, i love the way this fan controller looks, but i like the options of the Zalman

Very nice review OP. Question though. Why do u have 2 fan controllers? I need a fan controller so I will get this but do I need 2 of them?
PhotonicDoctor 10 months ago
do you need pwm fans to control the speed of the fans?
ImaginaryGuns 10 months ago
@ImaginaryGuns No. Any fan can be controlled by controlling the voltage sent to the fan.

I was deciding b/w this one and the Lamptron FC-5. I bought FC-5 and the LCD turned out to be crap. I wish I went with Scythe...too late.

@zver711 It's only $40 dollars at performance-pcs...I'd order one up! :)

Have you checked Lamptron's FC-5? 30W per channel and 7 selectable colors.

How did you connect all three fans on the top, to the same chanel?
barigade 1 year ago
@barigade Koolance makes a splitter that you can connect four fans to one channel. Check out their site and you'll see it. :)

@sbvikings30 They are Xigmatek branded fans. They look awesome, have good flow and are basically quiet. I definately recommend them.
