  • all i did was turn my xbox off then back on

  • Everything works for me on the computer but my computer won't show up on my Xbox 360. Is this from firewall?

  • @1665kyle it is from the fucking fire wall i fucking hate it!!!!

  • i have windows media center and i connected it to my xbox. but i cant play the music from my pc like before i got windows seven. Wtf

  • I had the same problem, all you have to do is when you have the white box where its supposed to detect your xbox 360, your xbox has to be on and it has to be looking for a computer.

  • Go to START, SETTINGS, CONTROL PANEL and then click on WINDOWS FIREWALL. Click on the EXCEPTIONS tab and then click on ADD PORT

You can name the ports anything you want I named them...

Universal Plug and Play - Port number 2869 (TCP)

Universal Plug and Play - Port Number 1900 (UDP)

Then restart windows media player and your xbox.

Bob's your uncle and it works!

If that doesn't fix the problem, add the same exceptions to your router and everything should work fine.

  • I added the ports and opened them but its still not working what else should i do

  • I downloaded twonky media manager and put all my vid etc on it and it worked fine just look Twonky Media up on youtube and youll see!!

  • thanks

  • @khalikid07 hi!...which kind of cable do i need to conect xbox with pc?..please

  • Try pressing Ok

  • i had a problem like this but wen i turned off my firewall it worked, so i had to add windows media player and windows media player network sharing to your firewall exeption list and it should work then

  • wow ive been stuck on this for days thanx man 4 telling me this

  • how do i add them to my firewall exceptions

  • wat firewall do you have, nortan? avg?

  • i fixed the problem. if anyone else is having problems it will save alot of time just to download TVersity. all you have to do is turn on sharing and it pretty much instantly connects to your xbox.

  • yeah thats wat ive been usin for a while since my wmp broke

  • i can help a lil turn off firewall make sure ur xbox and pc is connected to the same routor the see if the xbox 360 is in media sharing

  • im having the same issue do you need an internet connection?

  • i have the same problem dang

  • do u have to have wireless internet to do media sharing ????

  • is ur xbox turned on?, it has to be turned on

  • Ok first go on ok when youve said ticked the sharing box then go on your xbox and go on the music bit and choose your pc then it will appear in the box and you have to accept the connection from the xbox to your pc,

    Good luck!

  • what if your xbox doesnt pick up the pc sometimes but it comes up in media sharing. when i do get it connected the next time i urn on my xbox it wont connect. i know this is old but it would help alot if you knew how to fix it.

  • omg dude same thing man. my windows media player 11 picks up my xbox but it doesnt go the other way around how ... gay

  • yeah it sucks. so i just downloaded TVersity and its always connected and easy to use.

  • :( but i still wana use it though cause its kinda kool but either way i guess il use tversity

  • Just download vuze hun. It's one of the best apps made for the pc when it comes down to mediasharing. Do you need a tutorial check my channel i hope i helped!

  • I have the same problem

  • Turn on the Xbox

  • LOL this one is classic!!! ok follow these steps control panel > administrative tool > services now look for window media player network sharing service.

now click on it and you gonna see right in the left side two options, do click on restart as in the video tutorial (you can find my video in your RESPONSES) if not i think you gotta do it step by step as the video tutorial shows you how to do it ...

    i hope this helped . ^^ takecare!

  • Mine is direct 360 to PC with ethernet, and its doing the same as in the video. Neither the 360 or the PC can find eachother. It worked with another PC that had Vista, so WTF???

  • is your xbox on and try zune software it works too

  • still not true, it worked even with my netgear router, and my pc can find it , the problem is on my 360 , it shows up 5 mins later ,and when i try to connect with it , it doesn't work

  • At guy at 18004MYXBOX told me that if I had Windows XP I needed service pack 2 or else it wouldn't work!!

  • r mayb turn off your firewall... go to control panel-security centre-windows firewall-off. hope it helps, if not... try dowloading tversity or zune... i think zune sucks cause it didn't work 4 me, could of worked for other people, i dunno.

  • i think its because there isn't any songs, pictures and videos... i can't really remember how...

  • HEY GUYS i know wats the problem the only reason why it wont show the 360 is because you need a xbox wireless adpater trust me i know becuase when i had the ethernet cord it didnt pop up but since a got the wireless adapter it pop up and now i can share

  • turn the xbox on hahahhhahahahha

  • both has to be on right?

  • try to connect all to your router by ether. cable, and then you can switch the cable and connect to wi-fi again then you should br able to media sharing.

  • same problem..exactly

  • lmao okay you need a router they need to be conected to the same internet sours it shows up right away after that

  • I have the exact same problem somebody plz help

  • Im having the same problems. honestly i think it is the firewall, OR u can go on ur xbox and look at those instalation setups if u havent already

  • I have had this same problem forever. I have been to countless forums and done everything imaginable. Never can I get my PC Media Player to detect my XBOX360. The fact that Windows Media Player, Xbox 360 and Windows XP are all Microsoft media products and have such a hard time being able to connect to eachother is beyond my comprehension. You should be able to connect the xbox to your network and everthing should automaticaly work..this is so f'ing stupid. Let me know if you ever got this fixed.

  • i didn't fix it but i found a better program check out my latest video

  • yes i have all u have to do is gor to ur router which is 192.168.1.1 or 192.168.0.1

then u have to change some setting call cpt or cdp or some shit like that to 1900 k

  • learn how to type , and that doesn't even help

  • ur a DUMASS its the firewall settings

  • its not because I've turned off both my current firewall and the Microsoft firewall that came with my computer.

  • @bigj3305
