Actually, contrary to what i see many people posting, in some situations, like this one, a longer wheel base can actually work to your advantage. The short wheel base is nice when driving over stuff, but i've been in situations like this where the longer wheel base made it easier. There was a ditch i went through before, with a TJ in front of me, the fact that the back of the TJ was in it, at the same time as the front, it made it harder, where as my Grand crawled through it for a joke.
@sweetleader Sitting higher may not have made much of a difference. This is a case where a stock unlimited may have been just too long and gotten hung up.
msurbian: Well, the video is good anyway and only I get angry when somebody come here to only be disrespectful, as if he is forced to watch the Jeep video. I want to buy a TJ or used JK and do some lift, but not crazy: maybe 3" or 4" lift and no bigger with 35s, because then it start to be come top-heavy with these monster lifts that most mall cruisers use for show. Your Jeep looks good this way because it looks like stock or 2" lift.
Go take your unimog back to the biergarrten you lederhosen monkey. My grandfather kick you the hell out of Russia when you greedy bastad try to take our land and burn us out. I'll drive my cousin's Kamaz straight over the River and crush your wuss mobile. Jeep, Land Rover, and Kamaz!!!!
I don't know why exactly..... but these last couple posts you made were awesome. I'm laughing my ass off right now. This is obviously not a technical trail or something, it is just to demonstrate the capability of the Rubicon and what a help lockers can be.
Why oh why does some ass clown always have to come into a wheeling or Jeep video and start-up with his unimog. My family is fromr Russia and we have Kamaz, which destroys Unimog every tmie they compete in Dakar, but these are large trucks and "transit" vehicles you moron. If you want to haul a few kegs of your crappy German beer, then yes, I will say the unimog is excellent. So is Gelandewagen too, but Jeep is the best all-around. Land Rover #2; nobody else even close; not Toyota nor Pinzgauer.
Wrangler's dont need strong chassies idiot, there 4500lbs. Who needs high gears for "expedition" type work? you need low gears for wheeling not speed. Why would you fold down the windshield, it takes 3 times longer than putting a hardtop on and driving without a windshield is not legal for on road. And why in the sam hell would you need a dana 60 in the rear? It's got an inline six that pushs no more than 200 horses. It's retarded drivers that snap axle shafts not the machine. I know Humvee's :)
dude you a fuckin joke. GO BUY A RUBICON!!! Id like to see a stock H1 even try that shit without high centering. a unimog on the other hand your right, no shit its not in the same class as a rubicon. Even though a rubi can probably still walk all over both of them :)
Differential lockers they make both wheels spin if you have both front and rear locked out then all four wheels are immediately engaged and will spin for maximum traction. Lockers especially the front are not good for turning since all tires will spin at the same speed.
Nice

I know the Jeeps are really tough, but it's foolish to put them through that when there's no need to, just for "fun."
macman1138 2 months ago
@macman1138 What other reason is there to buy a Jeep then...? To have it drain your bank account and not have fun with it?
norcobigfootrider 3 weeks ago
@norcobigfootrider
I bought mine for work, bad weather, rough roads and to last 10 to 12 years at least.
any more wise cracks?

I wonder if it would've made it, if the Rubicon was the Unlimited 4 door. Anyone think he would've gotten stuck with the longer wheelbase?
NemeanLion 1 year ago
@NemeanLion he wouldnt have made it in a JK unlimited, way to large overall...woulda hung up as soon as it dropped in the hole
lauderdalechad 1 year ago
@lauderdalechad I actually have to disagree on that. JKs sit higher stock than a TJ so a 4dr Rubi probably would of been able to make it fine.

I don't know about Land Rover being second, but nothing beats a jeep. The new FJ cruisers do compete pretty well but nothing beats a rubicon
