Hello, great video! I have a kind of trivial question, were the mule and riff raft pickups potted or unspotted? I would really appreciate it if you could answer this question. gracias!
have the all black heritage standard. love that guitar. the stock pups arent doing it for me. thinking of getting bareknuckles, but going with warpigs. im a metal head ha. yours sounds fantastic. really thinking of getting the natural burst as well.
Thank you for sharing the actual tone of this amp rather than metal shredding crap like the other guys, You are the only person to do such a thing for the 1923c, Great Work thank you so much, now I need to buy one.
Why Riff Raff?. This is the bridge one that Tim Mills (Bareknuckle Pickups) recommended to me, when I was asking him for pickups that can mime Jimmy Page's nr.1.
In certain way, The Mule + Riff Raff is quite similar to SD '59 + JB but, without the boominess of the 59 (and more 3D sound) and without the harsh edge of the JB.
@hermeticoguitar Thanks for the quick response;) Will you also make a vid with the 2 Mules? It would be interesting to see the differences between them. I love the switching-system in your les paul, it is also possible to do the switching system without the phase-inverter and the boost? Since I won't be using those sounds much. Thanks

@risk710
They are potted.
If you plan to use them under certain gain, you need potted pickups, to avoid squeals.

Superb! I've just checked your blog. It's amazing. Already in my fovourites. Did you publish this LP wiring mod on your blog?

@nunocarmona
Yes, I did. It's under the Wiring DIY section, probably, enter nr. X or around, just after the Jimmy Page's wiring mod.

Stock picks are Seymour Duncan '59 Neck and JB bridge and both sound awesome in this axe.
These two BKPs are very similar but, I found them more open, clear and harmonically richer.
For sure, warpings play in other league.

Very kind from your side. I love this amp to dead. I think it has all the fundational Marshall tones.
About shredding... well... it also bores me but, everyone has something different to say and, diversity is good.

Thanks for this great video, great sounds. One question though, why do you have the Riff Raff in the bridge and not another Mule? Thanks

But, since I love so much the sound of The Mule (my prefered PAF sound), I bought a bridge one.
I just wanted first to demo the guitar with the Riff Raff before swapping it with a The Mule Bridge.
In that way, I can compare myself the videos and not just recall differences from memory.
If I am right, The Mule calibrate set is what will remain in this axe but, I need to be sure.

Yes, I will do some video with both Mules, as soon as I swap the bridge on.
About the switching system, yes, it's possible to do it without the OOP and serializer switches.
I see no issues.

That's a really cool video! Thanks for posting! Do you have a diagram for the way you wired the guitar?
tollan23 1 year ago
@tollan23
Sure, look at my blog (link in my profile) and search for "LP Exchanger" mod. You can use google translation tools.

@hermeticoguitar Cool, thanks for that! I had a look. Very cool blog! Is there anywhere I could download a pdf or jpeg of the wiring diagram?

@tollan23
Dude, I told you. I cannot paste the link, since youtube doesn't allows it. Look at "Electronica para guitarristas X", in April / 2009.
Click on the picture to get a full size and then save it.
