i went ans saw joe about 5 years ago at soboba casino and when he sand this he asked all the Vets to stand up..I am a VET and he pointed to us and saluted us.I will never forget that.I was in the 6th row so i got the first salute.I didn't want to stand up,I'm not into all that but my people made me pretty much.Anyway,It was a great thing he did and i have been a fan of his ever since.I had never heard of him til that moment.Good man

I feel pain not only for the boy at 1:33, but for the marine as well. I've served on funeral detail before. Having to present the folded flag is one of the hardest things to do. The officer has to look the next of kin they are presenting to in the eye, and do their best to keep from crying. My class A uniform is bleached by the sun from how many I went to, the hardest is when its your kin who the ceremony is honoring. Great video scooter. Great indeed.

Awesome job friend. I retired from the Marine Corps in 2003. It was a honor to serve my country and fight for the freedom that so many take for granted. I lost a lot of brothers over the years but we will reunite on the streets of heaven. God bless our troops in and out of harms way and pray for their safe return home.
There is no greater honor than serving my country. I have served 13 years, and will gladly continue to sacrifice by having less now, so that my children will have more later. I don't want my kids to stand by with their hands out, looking for government aid. If you want it, work for it. If you deserve it, earn it. In all honesty, I think that if Joe hadn't've done this song, we wouldn't have later songs like "Have You Forgotten?", "Where Were You (When The World Stopped Turning?)", "Where The Stars And Stripes And The Eagle Fly," and "I'm Already There" be as successful as they were. This Billy Ray Cyrus gem is an awesome song as well, and I think that since it and "Ships That Don't Come In" came out about the same time, and had it not been for "Achy Breaky Heart," "Some Gave All" probably would've enjoyed worldwide success. Also, since "Some Gave All" was an album title song, and "Ships That Don't Come In" wasn't, that may have played a big part in it's lack of success. However, I must also thank Billy Ray Cyrus for this patriotic gem.

Awesome job friend. I retired from the Marine Corps in 2003. It was a honor to serve my country and fight for the freedom that so many take for granted. I lost a lot of brothers over the years but we will reunite on the streets of heaven. God bless our troops in and out of harms way and pray for their safe return home.

There is no greater honor than serving my country. I have served 13 years, and will gladly continue to sacrifice by having less now, so that my children will have more later. I don't want my kids to stand by with their hands out, looking for government aid. If you want it, work for it. If you deserve it, earn it. If you fall on your face while trying, get up, dust yourself off, and try again. The American dream is not a guarantee. It's protected by the military.

I see the work our troops have done. Putting there lives before yours and mine... fire fighters are the only one's that come close and yeat so far as to the bravery of our troops different yeat the same... My friend, one i can say is a friend is hurting PTSD. he sent this vid to his mom SHE balled in tears. pain is felt not only with the ones waiting to see the loved one again... they have to remember all they did and WE HAVE TO NEVER FORGET... Just try to give hugs.... it helps. THEY HURT

In all honesty, I think that if Joe hadn't've done this song, we wouldn't have later songs like "Have You Forgotten?", "Where Were You (When The World Stopped Turning?)", "Where The Stars And Stripes And The Eagle Fly," and "I'm Already There" be as successful as they were. This Billy Ray Cyrus gem is an awesome song as well, and I think that since it and "Ships That Don't Come In" came out about the same time, and had it not been for "Achy Breaky Heart," "Some Gave All" probably would've enjoyed worldwide success. Also, since "Some Gave All" was an album title song, and "Ships That Don't Come In" wasn't, that may have played a big part in it's lack of success. However, I must also thank Billy Ray Cyrus for this patriotic gem.

this hurts so much, because our service men AND women went by choice, not force and gave up many years missing children growing up and husband and wives to hold. I can't wipe these tears away fast enough. I know what it means to be an American and a proud Texan ( Dallas ). So I would encourage anyone to shake the hand of any service member you see and express your heatfelt gratitude. So Thank you to all who have given beyond measure. I love ya'll with all my heart.

I love this song, its one of the few pre 9/11 songs that thanked a veteran. After 9/11 to many people jumped on the band wagon. To bad we dont see the same support now as we did then. Awesome Video.

@usmcmike1978 Right after 9/11 you couldn't find a flag anywhere to buy. They were everywhere on peoples cars, homes and anywhere else they could hang one. It's a shame that it takes such a tragedy to bring us all together. Our Veterans can never get enough thanks as far as I'm concerned. "Thank you" just doesn't seem like enough to say.

My brother is a student at USMA and he and alot of his fellow cadets voted for Obama. Obama is a CHRISTIAN not muslim. And just because someone is muslim does NOT mean they hate america or our terriorists.
