I feel worse for the pilot because he had huge flying snakes and gold monsters trying to catch him. The bird didn't show any emotion when the creepy people pointed at it, so, other that killing them, I don't think the bird meant to hurt the people. I mean, i don't feel bad for the bird because it was the antagonist, but the pilot was the victim and deserves more empathy.

And also...I'd feel bad for the bird. I mean, it has to deal with the pain of knowing it's feathers are causing all this death and destruction and it has to just fly by and watch. The pilot seems like the type of intrepid explorer that has experiences like that every day. I'd venture a guess that's not even the weirdest thing that had happened to him on that tank of gas!

Fred, I honestly feel much more sad for the bird because it is just a victim of it's own creation. It can't help itself that it has a severe molting problem! Probably feels like and aging man, who has a very large bald spot.

I feel more sorry for the bird. It must be a tremendous responsibility to have to choose who lives and who dies and I can't imagine anyone likes seeing that much death. He/she probably doesn't like seeing the world destroyed, it's his/her home too. Furthermore the pilot got out of it alright, maybe a little shaken but alright. The bird has to live with the weight of those deaths on his/her heart.
