  • BEAST.

  • Has there ever been a better video on YouTube? Very cool and way to be inventive! Good work dad!

  • dude, cut into the pair of wires leading to the electric motor. then tie in a $9 4-way electric light switch from home depot. then... it reverses polarity so, one position is forward, the other is reverse.

  • How did you make it? can you tell me?

  • super!)))

  • Great job, and lucky son! :)

  • good job well done. you dont have the plan written do you?

  • good job well done

  • Oh Man! ADOPT ME Bro!

  • Great to see a child raised with real toys.... not virtual ones.... well done

  • what motor did you use?how much watt?

  • dude that is awsome u shuld give it a racin seat

  • i wish i could have someone who would do this stuff for me

  • awesome, mann, i wanna make my own small go cart or something too. iv always been interested in this kinda stuff

  • greatttttttttt

  • cute

  • Does it have reverse?

  • Naaah, it uses a simple scooter motor so it only goes forward. That's why several times the video was "cut" - that was when I had to put down the camera and pick up the car and turn it around for my son after he drove into the bushes and such.

We're working on a bigger, badder version that will have reverse, "real" brakes, and be able to seat two adults or four kids.

  • @midiguy732

    your kid lacks motor skills

  • nice job!

  • Der Soundtrack ist ja mal peinlich.....

  • Wow, body on frame, just like your Crown Vic! My son rides modified Power Wheels for now, but I too have lots of parts laying around from a previous life. Perhaps this winter I'll put them to as good of use as you have. Fantastic car you've built!

  • thats cool

  • cool but dangerous

  • Hey midiguy I just want to say that as a single father of an 8 year old boy, I can tell you that I cherish every moment I spend with him. Since he was born I have built many projects for him, the most recent being a minibike I hope to post on here soon. He's even learning how to use tools and helps me sometimes. It's great to do things with and for our kids because when they get older, they'll always recall those fond childhood memories. Great kid and a great job too.

  • sweet crafmanship you should make your own buisness lol

  • Thank you everyone for the great feedback... my son got a lot of use out of the thing for about a year, and unfortuntaely he grew like a weed so he can no longer drive it anymore. He's going to be one tall boy ;-)

Anyway, the very start of Homemade Electric Toy Car II is underway... started the pile of scrap to work with... we have tires, tubing of different sizes, wheels, a coffee can of usable bearings!
