  • the impala is full sized and the malibu is mid sized

  • an impala is not a midsize...that means a charger is midsize

  • That braking result is really poor. Possibly a deal-breaker.

I'm puzzled as to why this car seems to have seriously outsold Ford's Five Hundred, which I'd say is its nearest competitor.

  • @MaestroTJS Maybe cause the Ford Five hundred is now longer... The only competitor is the new Taurus. At least Ford is smart they refreshen their vehicles every 2 years not waiting 8 freakin years to redesign a vehicle thats just crazy and stupid. GM spends more time with BUICK/GMC and not anytime with Chevy the brand that made them what they are in the first place. I heard talks Buick is being dropped. GM doesn't have a clue WTF they are doing.

  • I love the 06 impala hey how much yall think I can find one with 50000 to 60000 miles on i want to by one for college

  • 2 IMPALA HATERS???

  • The year is 2011 and nothing has changed in this car since 2005. You gotta wonder why GM went bankrupt.

  • @slyhitman214 The average is every 2 years. need to know the auto industry and obviously you don't. There are car makers out there that follow the rules to actually sell there products and know what they are doing. Sorry that GM can not. You need to make changes to stay competitive. So now its ok that you wont see an Impala or Tahoe,Silverado and Suburban till 2013? I think GM needs to revamp the lineup before they lose more sales they they already are. Their Fleet is looking out of date..

  • @slyhitman214 Why should I do the work for you why don't you just go on the net and look for yourself. GM sucks anyway. General Mistake buying that car, Government Motors. I don't care I'm done here bye now.. GM is a lost cause. They are going to end themselves because they can't build their own cars anymore going over seas now and giving our jobs away as it its FUCK GM.. Most of the Engines and Transmissions are made over seas then shipped and slapped in over here.

  • @slyhitman214 Ya thats why GM ruined SAAB and now SAAB is gone ya ok I know nothing dude. GM is afraid to give the rights to the Japanese to keep the brand alive FUCK GM. Hmm Ford builds better cars than GM maybe thats why they are outselling them. GM is the biggest one for sending our JOBS over seas learn it know it get over it and STFU.

  • Comment removed

  • @slyhitman214 Fuck you dickweed They are the biggest ones give up our jobs and their the one cutting jobs over here to save their ass more money so you go fuck yourself and your shit box GM product. GM is going to end soon they don't know how to run their business. Thats why Toyota Honda KIA and Hyundai have plants here fuck you dumbf-uck you know jack shit. Those companies brought us jobs GM likes to ship jobs over see FUCK THEM . OH BTW F-150 RATED #1 AGAIN FOR BEST TRUCK.

  • @slyhitman214 U mad bro STFU loser doesn't know jack shit and I'm not afraid to say whats on my mind either or go deleting my comments . It shows that your are no good and don't know anything about what hes sayin.. That is all...

  • @slyhitman214 mmmmmmmmmmmmmmhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm

  • Everything except the trick rear seat is just under-par in this vehicle (especially now, in '11). The V8 is wasted on a front-wheel-drive boat like this too.

  • the new impala is slower than the 2005 impala the 2006 o to 60 2006 impala 8.3 and chevy impala 2005 o to 60 7.5

  • I work for general motors and the 2012 impala SS is gonna be rwd not to worry.

  • @1256robert are they redesigning the impala anytime soon ? i dont mean to be mean just wondering lol

  • @1256robert if thats true ima crap myself

  • @1256robert Not anytime soon sorry the 2014 is still going to be FWD it take GM 9 years to redesign this car.. Shame on them..

  • oh shit i didn't know my back seats went up, and i had my impala since 07! smdh,,, cool though

  • I have grocery bag hooks? Whoa, who knew!

  • My dad wouldn't b unemployment if chevy build quality n reliable car, more people would buy it. N they wouldn't go bankupt.

  • @columbuscrewfan20 Don't look at the Impala bud, the car is fleet central. There's a huge number of Impalas on the road because they're cop cars and taxis. Plus people choose Chevy's for comfort, some styling (even the reviewer mentioned comfort), this particular car has a ton of room. And in Canada, our GM is doing just fine now so ...

  • I gotta admit the new ss is badass. At least when chevy builds a performance car they make the engine themselves not borrow them from japan lol.

  • Almost 2 years and STILL the best car I have ever owned. Trouble free.

  • @smczack1 true i have had mine ltz for 5 years nothing is wrong with it! i'm going wait to see if they release the 2012 concept before i buy any other car

  • @MeUAndLiqour and @smczack1 Just remember that mechanics NEVER have any real trouble with their cars!!! Just sayin'.......

  • The 5.3L motor gets almost the same MPG as the 3.9L motor. Other than the cost of the model, why settle for less power & torque w/ a V6 when u can the V8? Now only if the SS was RWD.

  • Why was my comment removed? It didn't contain any profanies or threats. I guess that it must have offended the thin-skinned bozo who I was replying to.

  • The impala Should be rwd like this if you think the same

  • Come check out my vids for a true 0to 60 8.3 seconds is too slow the reason because Is the higher the elivation the less air for the engine to take in causes the slow acceleration. Down hear in loisiana where the elivation is below sea level this impala does 7.2-7.3 sec to 60 and has more torque than a 05 Honda accord and is quicker I love my Chevy pimpala!!!!!

  • I have had a '06 Chevrolet Impala LT since May '09, and I am so underwhelmed by it, I just bought a '07 Honda Accord EX-L V6. My Impala did not come with the optional antilock brakes, so the brakes lock up and the car skids in emergency braking situations. The Accord has four wheel anti-lock brakes with Electronic Brake Distribution, so it stops in a much shorter distance than the Impala. The Accord kicks the shit out of the Impala in every way except two: trunk space and AUX plug on the radio.

  • @jherskine Don't you test drive cars before you buy them? Why did you buy a new-ish vehicle without ABS in the first place? I like import cars, but I think you simply bought the wrong car to begin with.

  • @cheezgrated To be honest with you, when I bought the car used, I assumed that it came standard with ABS brakes. Every car I have had since 1997 (both new and used) had ABS. Honestly... in this day and age, what car (other than a bottom of the line econo-box) doesn't offer ABS standard?

Only later did I find out that in 2006, ABS (as well as traction control) were optional on the Impala.

  • @jherskine I read that ABS was a $600 no-brainer option when new. Oddly, whoever ordered your car from the factory forgot to put the check mark next to the ABS package.

One of my friends has a used 2005 Corolla with A/C but oddly no ABS. The trim level should have included ABS. Makes me wonder if the car was in a major accident before.

  • @cheezgrated Im surprised at newer cars not having ABS as well. My mom was in the market for a used 06+ matrix. She had such trouble finding 1 with the options she wanted, ABS, automatic, side curtain airbags, she gave up and ordered a 08 new from the dealer with all the options she wanted.

  • @cheezgrated I thought all new cars had ABS besides a base model kia rio. It was strange that cars that were otherwise fully loaded wouldnt have ABS, side airbags or something else. Most car companys package options to streamline production.

  • @StewartLucrative The newer impalas had optional ABS in 2006 but in 07 on up its standard i think - Rental companies like enterprise would order them with out OnStar, Side Airbags and ABS even though these are all STANDARD safety features.

  • @jherskine your on an other video too - dude.. You made the same mistake i didn't think to check to make sure it had all the fetures you wanted. My car came w/o OnStar, Side Air Bags and ABS because it was owned by Enterprise car rental company... if i got a history report and did homework i would have been better off because i would NOT have bought that car I would have gotten the Monte Carlo that i really wanted insted

  • @jherskine Plus, you can rest easily in the knowledge that your Accord will START every day & not break down every 2 weeks!!!!!!

  • even thou its FWD,you can do alot with a 06 SS,with a cartuning turbo kit and and exhaust and you are looking at a 11-12 sec 1/4 mile time

  • I'll be excited to see the next generation Impala but I've driven several of the current line and it is really a good car. I was very impressed at the build quality and quiet ride. You can find used ones at really good prices too, albeit a lot of them are ex-rentals, but nicely equipped.

  • I had a '07 Impala SS.

  • @MrWaylonfan

    OKay? =o

  • im daily driving a '98 L82 3100 sfi with the 4t60e transmission in a Lumina ls with nearly 300000k. It still runs perfectly. Built in oshawa about 30 mins away I have a ton of pride for GM sedans, They look and perform the best imo, classy and reliable as fuck. Remember to change your fluids and dont redline off a cold start when its -30 outside!! people do this shit everyday and wonder how their Economical cars break after a few short years..respect it not neglect it & it will last 20 years

  • @ls3100sfi Btw I drive a Chevy Silverado ,best vehicle I have ever had, so I'm not a Chevy hater.

  • taurus is a better car.

  • i really have to say the 00-05 looks better to me but this one is nice to....

  • BORING

  • This is the new Chevy Lumina

  • I love my 2008 Impala so far. Fast enough for me and it gets 30-32 miles to the gallon highway. Very nice interior compared to the 2000-2005.

  • Dis car is so nice i like the 2009 version tho there no other car i will rather buy than this except a bentley bmw you know wat am saying but the ss is my fav am getting it as my first car!!!

  • Ayudria please tell us what car we all should buy, please we are so misguided !!!!!

  • I've seen a selector of the transmission located near the steering wheel and on the floor tunnel. What's the difference?

  • its stupid its not rwd!

the g8 must come back as a caprice!

  • You really didn't do your homework before making this comment, did you?

  • I have a 09 SS. Best car i have ever owned. To each his own.

  • @smczack1 how is ur gas mileage i rele want the ss but i cnt afford to much food to feed it lol

  • Thanks for the information

  • The engine options are nice, but I hate the interior, the seats and dash look way too cheap for a car like this, even for a base version. I also hate that all trim levels are FWD, I prefer RWD with the SS, and maybe a little more power.

  • Yea, I think so,too, although I really like the Impala. 210 Horse Power isn't actually much for a 3.5L V6. 210 Horse Power is what the Golf 6 six getting out off a 2.0L I-4. And 303 HP isn't really much for a 5.3L V8 either.

But still I like the Impala.

  • I agree. I think GM really needs to step up in the engine & interior department. they build decent products but put old out-dated lowtech engines/transmissions and cheap interiors in their vehicles. sad.

  • @watso64 low tech out dated engines and transmission and interiors compared to what else in THIS fucking price class? its sad that you comment without having a fucking clue what you're saying you stunned pos. Go buy a prius electric hybrid with recycled interior and sunroof but I want a cheap car with some performance and reliabilty not some damn hydrogen or electric engined car that looks queer as it can fucking get. you pay for what you get, Thats why luxury sedans cost 3-4x more than this

  • @ls3100sfi Have you even driven this vehicle? I've driven it multiple times. These vehicles have 4-speed autos{every competitor uses a 5-6 speed},engines that lack the power of the competition. I said nothing about price range{you added words on}

You don't have to pay 3-4 times more then this vehicle to get a car that has more power and quality.

Combine that with the fact your using obscenities to protect a CAR{you probably never driven} and who looks like an idiot here? Have a good day sir.

  • @ls3100sfi If you want reliability, you WILL find it in a Toyota.....NOT IN A GENERAL MISTAKES VEHICLE!!!!!!!!

  • @americanstylefreak The 3.0L V6 engine in my '07 Honda Accord puts out 244 HP.

  • @jherskine

Yea the Accord is WAAAAAY better. I drive an Impala (03 LS), and really want an accord coupe V6

  • @tjmick1992 the ss is better than any accord

  • @macktenful That's your opinion, buddy. Take a look at the resale value of the Impala SS and the Accord EX V6 and tell me which one is higher.

  • @jherskine The Ex v6 And the Impala ss are Two different cars the Impala ss is ment for performence the accord is more luxury The resale value might be higher for the accord but the Impala is still the better car

  • @macktenful how is the impala a better car? the accord has a nicer interior, better engine (much more advanced), better transmission, better looks, and certainly better handling. there is a reason why the accord is consistently on car and drivers 10 best.

  • @ecurules Because the impala is bigger inside atleast to me it is

  • @ecurules comfort, fuel mileage, durability, power, space.... these are things i liked about my 2007 base model Impala. I drove my impala from 31k miles to 82k miles in about 2 years... didnt even replace the ceramic brake pads till about 80k miles... factory Good Year tires were crappy and replaced twice under the 3 year 36k mile warranty. The wheel bearings were replaced under 5 year 100,000 mile warranty and the new wheel bearings came w/ a LIFETIME warranty!

  • @jherskine and 211 lbs/ft torque. However the 3.9L Impala engine in early models had 240 hp and 242 lbs/ft torque w/ variable valve timing it had 90% of its torque at a truck like 1500 rpm up to about 5500 rpm... 220lb/ft torque at 1500rpm would have been awesome for a truck 10 years ago! The early 3.9 had cylinder deactivation too. Japanese engines typically need to be run at high RPM to get max power vs the chevy just idles at under 1500 rpm at 70mph

  • too bad its a full size. chevys midsize is the malibu. still an awsome car especially the ss!!!

  • great video. I've got an 07 SS myself.

  • ENHENCED PUSHROD POWER

  • yes!
