  • Neat little plane - build vid? :)

  • NEIN NEIN NEIN!

  • I don't care how well it flies, it's damn ugly!

  • Oh man it has been 18 years since i have seen one of these!!

  • WTF. same exact comment, same person.

  • i made one too and fly's higher than this pipsqueak. it fly's higher if its bigger and made with polystyrene

  • omfg a ufo

  • What makes the propeller continue to turn?

  • Who knew Lampshades could fly?

  • if the cross section's profile is the same throughout the entire ring, then the sides are stabilizers and the top of the ring is 'anti-lift', if its the structure you like, cut slots or punch holes throughout the top part of the ring to limit its detrimental effect on the bottom part of the ring or vice versa depending on the profile's shape.

  • @doceigen perhaps to minimize that effect, something more of an elliptical shaped wing would fare better... think of it like a biplane with both of its wingtips attached to each other.

Or for a more ambitious design, a series of overlapping ailerons around the entire wing that change accordingly with the aircraft's orientation. But I probably could not build that in my garage...

    Increased wing = more lift?

  • @SaucyJake It is the cross section of the 'wing' that provide lift... either the top of the ring or the bottom of the ring is providing all the lift, the other circumferantial segment, is working against that.

  • @doceigen

however, the shape would seemingly decrease induced drag by preventing the normal formation of wingtip vortices

  • @komodomoe Overall, sure... but the opposing lifting profiles, still minimize any 'real' advantages perceived.

  • make oue full size around a electric scooter

  • how do you make the flying donat and whats the name of that song

    ????

  • Wunderbar! Is there anywhere on web any information about ringwing aerodynamics, etc.? Thank you for any links!

  • Soooo.....lamps can fly. I like it. Its so comical.

  • Tubular man!

  • zOMG UFO!!!

  • I'm trying to figure it out, how did you make the circle bit so that the pressure gave uplift?

  • @programaster quite simply, the board cut is not exactly rectangular, but a page (which comes back) is about 3cm shorter. this creates the adjustment angle. best you try on the first of a piece of paper. then end the overlap (about 2cm) from sticking together, and on the top and bottom plate with a piece (about 7-8 cm) stick. then when everything glued, fit into the carbon aspire. if there are still questions, let me know. I can tell you also draw a sketch.

  • @ONPRIEL Very cool :)

  • Very Cool!

  • Super Lippisch !!!

  • flying donut

  • what-a-piece of shit!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • dam imma fall asleep on thx music

  • dam

  • It looks like a flying lamp shade...

  • @Lesnification it does, this thing cost me a lot of time to build it. im answering from my 2nd channel, but im the supercrashpilot, in deed, lol.

  • When I was at uni 20+ years ago some of the engineering students came up with a paper airplane which was a roll shape similar to this but narrower at the top. They were excellent and slow gliders provided you launched them correctly. Never could work out where the lift was coming from though

  • Hav you contact lockeed industries???

  • that is a unique design.. great job.. good rc.. for those who think its not, they are morons.. the prop looks like its not spinning because of the sample rate of the cam.. the cam sample rate and the rpms of the blades are almost in sync.. so it looks like the prop is not spinning.

  • Its RC WHAT THE HELL i thought it was

Glidin if so that motor sucks d***

  • if you guys watch the whole video youll see that it is rc. not freeflight

  • Remote or freeflight?

  • @fubleduck id be amazed if that is free flight

  • @heymama1 thx a lot my friend.

  • english comment!

  • @chi3456 lol :D

  • ICH DAS LICHTEN BOOT NEIN UND MALTENFLAGER JAIEGER

  • haha.....genial!!
