  • ur hair is lovely!

  • thanks so much for this !

  • Wow I never heard of the crisscross wrapping technique. I will try this the next time I straighten my hair b/c I have a hard time doing the regular wrap b/c my hair is thick.. Thanks for the Tutorial & I subscribed : )

  • Man oh man I am not sure if I can sleep with those big ten gallon duck clips digging into my head. But never the less you hair looks very nice...I am natural and my hair has grown very much now. I'm just looking for more styles to wear now.

  • hi do the duck bill clips leave dents?

  • I am going to have to get some clips now =]

Noticed the right side of my hair was thinning out, hope this can help.

  • does your hair come out the same as if you would have wrapped it?

  • wow i never heard of this method until today

  • thank you so much for this video! i have been wrapping my hair for years ahd have constant breakage around the edges. My scalp is always sore when unwrap my hair. I will definitely try this.! What type of relaxer do you use? Your hair looks so soft and healthy.

  • the only problem i am running into with this is I bump my ends under (after rollersets) and this mehod kind of ruins that effect, I'll change it up a bit and try again. great video!

  • what if you have shoulder lenght hair will it turn out the same? i tried it once and it did not seem to work...

  • wow your hair is so silky and movable .. how can i get that 2 ?? pleas helpp mine is not weigt down but more likee in that direction

    x

  • this helps so much!! thank you!!!!

  • awesome! i hate traditional wrapping because it always hurts and breaks hairs on one side. i'm gonna try this to keep my straightened natural hair looking nice.

  • do the clips hurt ur head when ur sleeping?

  • Aww. I was hoping you would show the "after" in the morning. I'm about to try this now, but with my jumbo clips because I can't remember where the duckbills are.

  • I have been trying to find a new way to wrap my hair. couldnt figure out the cross wrap to save my life! Thanks for making it easier!!

  • Wow, I've actually NEVER heard of cross-wrapping... so I'm late to the party but hey, at least I arrived!

Thanx, I may start wrapping this way, great!

  • @mtsmith1124 great! good luck :)

  • I guess I need to go back to duckbill clips for cross wraps because the bobby pins are causing frizzy ends. Thanks for the video!

  • @Acegirl009 No problem! and yes, bobby pins leave dents that really mess up the look :(

  • Nice! Different.

  • @urjnsmd Thanks! glad you liked it :)

  • can you cross rap your hair with bangs...how can u do that?

  • @accountmaster30001 Sure, you just smooth the bangs into the wrap with a brush. If necessary, use a loose hair pin to keep the bangs in place while you put on your hair scarf.

  • u kinda look like gabrielle union

  • @oh770 haha

  • thnak you. You so good at these tutorials.

  • @whatoyou well thanks! I hope they are useful :)

  • love this!

  • Please do a video showing the take down of the cross wrap. My hair results next day, looks different when I do it.

  • What relaxer do you use? I know you go to a salon but...

  • @malysahd Mizani

  • @JustThisGirl1 I'm a stylist and I think your hair looks really great. You do a great job and great info for people. I'm glad that you get your relaxers in the salon, that's smart. Some folks that relax their own hair don't understand that they overlap. No matter how careful they think they are, they can't see it like someone else can.

Good for you and I love your dryer, LOL you are serious about that hair and it shows. ;)

  • thank you so much--I never wrapped my hair because my hairline hurt on one side. but I will be trying this.

  • thanks for the video, i'm sharing it on my blog for my French readers.

    take care

  • @Bellebene0804 wow, that's an honor! Thank you so much for sharing my videos :) Merci beaucoup et bisoux to your readers en France :)

  • @JustThisGirl1 your french is perfect! you are welcome, thank you for providing quality videos I can share ;o) take care and go girl!

  • girl this video is very informative im going too try this once i take put my braids

  • i have a question..could you use this technique to keep hair in a "wrap" style. so that it still has that wrap and body style..with the curl? bc i have in a sew in and i dont want it to be a straight i want it to have that curl

  • @Sweetheartbabez I think so. I would just put a small pin curl at the ends and cross wrap it like usual to maintain the 'bump' on the ends. Otherwise the cross wrap works exactly like a regular wrap.

  • omgshhhhh THANK YOU!

  • M I R A C L E!

    THANK YOU (:

  • Omg, yes. That is exactly what happened to one side of my edges earlier in the year. It broke off a bit and i was so puzzled why. & then one side wuld cum out all funky and sticking out so I could only part it on one side of my head. Thanks, I love this!

  • wow. This is the first time i'm hearing of this type of wrap. I'll try it tonight.

    Thanks!

  • @BgirlRosey great!

  • I just heard about cross-wrapping today. I'm glad I found your video. The directions online had me so confused. Anyway, I'm going to try this tonight. I have a LOT of breakage in the back and on the edges. I hope cross-wrapping helps.

  • @Lady5Millz I hope it works for you as well! Good luck :)

  • When I wrapped my hair the tradition way, one side looked good the other looked poofy and confused. I will try this way.

  • @xcheesecakequeen haha I hope it works for you!

  • I love this way of cross wrap , i will be trying it tonight :D

  • @3jdixon great!

  • nice ides. bu wouldn't the clips hurt your head while your sleep

  • @xs3ximi4x I place them in regions of my head that I generally don't lie on, so they don't hurt me. But you have to make a strategic choice of where to put them when you're doing the wrap :)

  • Thanks for the vid. I've never heard of cross wrapping till tonight. My temples are sore in the morning depending on which way I wrap my hair and you mentioned doing this stopped the sore temples so I'm going to try this and see if that's what's going on w/ my hair. Again thanks for the video and the information in it.

  • @SoftNSweetG You're welcome and I hope it works out for you!

  • It s the first time that i am hearing of croos wrap....i ll try it tonight. tks

  • @kitusplus great!

  • See this is why I'm all messed up now!!! I have NEVER heard of this till now like I just read on a hair board about cross wrapping and I was like what the heack is that!! OMG so glad I found your vid you have no idea I'm sooo late on this ugh! Could have saved myself the trouble long ago!!

  • @ltoomey82 Haha, well I'm glad you found out about it! Better late than never, girl ;)

  • really helpful the original wrap will break one side of your hair and that is a big problem

  • @trinirina Yes, yes.. I was really glad when I discovered this wrap as well because I haven't had that soreness or breakage issue since!

  • Awesome vid!

  • Thank you SO much for this. I've been doing this wrap for the past week. Works just as good as a regular wrap! Love it. I also cross wrapped my hair wet!

    Thank you!!!

  • @SFVone Awesome! I'm glad it worked well for you!

  • Do you wrap your hair every night?

  • I don't always wrap, but my hair is always covered in a satin scarf and I sleep on satin pillowcases. If my hair isn't wrapped under the scarf, it's usually braided or pinned up or in a bun of some sort. So, basically, my ends are still protected in some kind of way no matter what.

  • im gonna try this tonight

  • Thank you for responding. Another great hair wash which turn out very good. Thanks to you:) How often do you give your hair an hot oil treatment and do you do a deep conditioner with every wash

  • I don't do hot oil treatments very frequently..usually just when I feel like my hair or scalp is extra dry. I deep condition as much as possible..usually I don't have the time to do it with every single wash, but I definitely would if I could! Deep conditioning is my favorite :)

  • Excellent. Thank you very much.

  • So my thing is, I've seen this plenty of times before but never tried it because I am wondering if it leaves a bend in your hair in the morning where you pulled it up at??

  • Thank you for this video.

  • you're welcome!

  • im gonna try this tonight...

  • awesome! I like this way so much better than the traditional wrap...

  • excellent tutorial

  • Thanks for your kind feedback!

  • I just got my relaxer today and I wanted to know if I did this cross wrap instead of the traditional wrap will my hair still fall as usual. also How often do you use the silk infusion and when do you start back moisturizing and sealing after a fresh relaxer?

  • The cross wrap will yield almost exactly the same results as a regular wrap, except that your hair won't have a tendency to want to stay in the direction of your wrap, if that makes sense :P And I use the silk infusion usually only after I wash my hair. After a fresh relaxer I usually moisturize right away b/c my hair is always extra dry, but I don't seal because that would weigh it down. I will typically wait until the next wash to start sealing.

  • this helped alot ive been trying to figure out how to cross wrap =]

  • I WRAP MY HAIR SIMILAR TO THAT. but instead of putting it up. i put it above the my hair line at the back of my neck. when i explain it it doesnt sound right. i'll just post a video reponse

  • Cool :)

  • i love your video!

do you know the size of your satin head scarf?

  • Not sure, but I would guess about 2 ft x 2 ft... it's a nice, big square.

  • I really like this vid! I heard that crosswrapping id healthier for your hair. Thanks!

  • Thanks, glad you liked it :)

  • So I tried this just now and it was a huge fail lol. I had this big old lump in the back when i tied the scarf. I guess ill see how it turns out in the AM.

  • uh oh! If the wrap was secure before you started tying the scarf, maybe you could try flipping your scarf and tying it from the back to the front. Or, maybe you need to secure it at the top a bit better. Give it a few tries, and I'm sure you'll get the hang of it!

  • Excellent tutorial. I thought I was the only one who had a tender dcalp after wrapping or when I style my hair I always have a few pieces that want to go in the wrong direction. Thanks so much. I hope this is the answer for my wrapping woes.

  • It helps so much with the scalp tenderness! I hope it works out for you :)

  • love ur hair

  • Thanks so much!

  • VERY helpful. thanks!

  • You're welcome!

  • pretty hair!!!

  • Thanks!

  • how do you sleep with a duck bill clip? Doesn't it feel really uncomfortable?

  • The clips are intentionally placed as far to the top front of my head as possible. I don't sleep on that part of my head, so it doesn't get in the way. It feels just as comfortable as sleeping with a normal wrap!

  • I have just started to do this style of wrap its fanstastic. Just use a wrapping net to hold ur hair in place and the take the clips out and then put another silk sccarf over the top to hold in place. Its looks great in the morning.

  • thank you so muchhhh thanks to you and your video i will no longer be doing the traditional wrap :] i just started cross wrapping tonight. i am going to stop going to the hair dresser and maintain my own hair because i think i know my hair best and can do a better job at it than my stylist an all their heat lol. any way keep up the good vids !!!

  • Congrats! It's a big step to say 'goodbye' to stylists, but I feel the same way. I do most of everything at home except for relaxers and trims...and if I was confident doing those things myself, I would! :) But you're right, we can care for our OWN hair better than anyone else will, so I wish you best of luck in learning how to listen to and maintain your hair! You'll do great!

  • I love it!!!

  • wow this really helped me thanks for posting this video

  • Excellent! Step by step and easy. Thank you..

  • Hehe, you're welcome! It's really a lot simpler than I think most people think it is :)

  • i'm going to try this wrap tonight ... i've ner even heard of a cross wrap b4 your video so thanks for doinga tut on it ...hope it comes out well keeping my finger crossed lol .... anyway hope all is well with you

  • Thank you! I definitely feel I still have a ways to go but I'm thankful for a successful journey so far! My fotki is currently terribly out of date but I will PM you as soon as I update it! I'd love you to send me the link to yours so I can drool over your hair in the meantime ;)

  • This helped a lot i'm glad i came across this video! Thanks so much for sharing =D

  • how do you sleep with your hair if not maintaining a style

  • A simple cross wrap or bun is what I usually have my hair in if it's straight, but not in any particular style. If it's curly, I usually keep it clipped up to the top of my head. The one thing that is constant every night is my silk scarf, regardless of what's going on underneath :)

  • my hair isnt long enough yet

  • wow that was a lot easier than i expected. i will be doing this. thanks for the vid.

  • Great idea

  • I notice traditional wrap breaks my hair so i stop.

  • Yeah, I used to get breakage too, that's why I learned this new method. The damage of wrapping is gradual, so you don't really notice it until something drastic happens :(

  • OMG so thats how you do it. good vid!

  • i never wrapthe 'normal' way...always a cross wrap

  • Wow!!! You did it so easy!!! Please show us how it looks the next morning when you take it down! Thank you :)

  • im going to start doing that technique.. I couldnt think of another way to wrap my hair because my hair line especially the left will be sooo sore and my hair was also startiing to thin out a little on that side.TY!

  • love this technique? is it possible you can show use the results in the morning plz

  • Sorry but I didn't get a chance to film again in the morning. However, the "after" looks pretty much like the "before", by design :) No surprises :)

  • its no problem thanks anyway

  • my hair is natural but i used to have permed hair and i used to hate wraping my hair because i could not get that perfect wrap like the salon but this look so much easier i would recommend this to somebody... :)

  • I find it a lot easier as well! And it was so nice to relieve that tension on my hairline!!
