  • This is great. I'm teaching myself how to become a bartender now. Any other tricks or tips would be appreciated!

  • you inspire me dude

  • a little head goes a long way...

  • If this man says "like" like one more like time... he sounds like a like 13 year old like girl

  • 2 says in bartending school and personally , i think learning the drink mixing and teqniques are more difficult than expexted. I need advice.

  • most drink names will give away most ingredients to a drink. some drinks are hard to remember such as a long island ice tea for new people, a half shot of gin vodka rum and tequila with triple sec sweet and sour and then coke on top with a lemon, some stuff will be hard to learn but best thing to do is just quiz yourself random parts of the day think of a drink and try to think of how to make it and if you can't get it use teh name to figure it out.

  • Thanks for the advice, ill keep them in mind

  • whenever pouring a drink just rememebr eye apeal, people want to see there drink look special, like if say your making a mai tai, when you add the grenadine at the end swirl it around the outside in and when you give it to them the grenadine will sick below the orange juice and it will impress them, techniques may be very important but just a basic of the technique will help a lot, as long as you know how the drink is made and can make it right thats all you need, you don't need to be flashy.

  • @ohnevergoingtoquit

    Mai Tai doesn't have grenadine

  • @gooser562 yes, it does.

  • @ohnevergoingtoquit

No, read up on your history. Victor Bergeron (the Trader Vic guy who originated the concoction ) never included grenadine in the recipe. Granted, go to every bar and they will make it slightly different, but if we're going to get technical about it, then no, it is not suppose to have grenadine according to the original formula. If you want to add grenadine (assuming you bartend) then that is fine, as long as your customer is satisfied.

  • @gooser562 yea, where im from every bartender in town puts grenadine in mai tais

  • Best bartending advice on the internet. Word.

  • i love good head

  • Comment removed

  • If maybe you knew something about bartending you would know that the pour nozzles on the neck to not function if you use the neck to pour, you have to grab just below the neck otherwiise nothing will come out and you also cant just slam it fast most of the pour nozzles are portioned to do 1 shot and stop

  • I love when talked about head lol

  • LOL. the way he handled the shaker = fail. not to mention his free pouring. bottle neck, hello? fail fail fail..

  • 1:44- after a good budweiser, all i can think about is good head! lol i kid, i kid

  • I totally agree!!!! i bartend at margaritaville in Glendale AZ and all you said was true. EVERYTHING!

  • Great basics!- no need to split hairs people!

  • I want to be a bartender when I'm older.

  • @RockyM3003 I was gonna thumbs up this but your likes are exactly 21 so I rest my case

  • booooooooo im a bartender i love using tricks show us some

  • Does he get paid for this shit???? I've been bartending for 10 years and if I can make money stating the obvious then I think I'll switch professions.

  • i dont think hes making any money off this

  • Does he teach all of his outstanding tricks for free? Well fuck, My bad!!!!

  • I think he's either on the clock just demonstrating for a group of customers, or this is an actual class learning to bartend an he's just helping them out. He was talking more directly to a group of people than the camera. So I believe one of the students was recording with his consent, and the video was posted for the site. Just my guess...

  • If he's teaching a class then he's getting paid. There for, he's making money. I was just stating, if you're a bartender (or one that is actually worth a damn) then you already know this shit. But I have seen some pretty clueless peices of shit work in a resturant before.

  • Well...you know how it is. Some places just really don't care about quality. They'll hire anyone who can just get the job done. I've only just started learning how to bartend, so like I said, it was just a guess. :/

  • been a bartender 4 20yrs..tip-people i know like a DRINK-key to a strong drink isnt how much booze u use, its in the ice..use a FULL glass of ice and really try and remember what the people drink so they have to tell u all the time...they like the fact that u remebered!!!

  • **so they dont have to tell u all the time

  • AMEN!

  • obrigado, so pelas palavras,.,,,,.......

    very nice,.

(portugal) sorry i no spik ingles.

i orck at the bar chears.

  • thanks for the video !

anyone who is wants to know more about bartending can also check out the book "Bartending for Dummies". it teaches how stock a bar, mix exotic specialties and hot toddies, experiment with new flavored rums, vodkas, and cordials, garnish and serve drinks like a master mixologist and cure hangovers and hiccups

  • he has a few points. being fast. entertain. learn fast. but hes kinda full of crap with the whole teaching thing.... i am really workign my way thru grad school and i sure as hell know more abt nartending than this chump.

  • I think that there's definitely more to it than what he's saying. I for one hate going to bars and finding out that the bartender doesn't know how to make a whole bunch of simple drinks. If I'm a bar tender, I'm going to try to be the best damn bartender there ever was. Aside from the quirky tricks, I'm going to try and remember a whole bunch of drinks as well as keep a handy well-organized binder with me that has a ton of drink recipes. I want to give the customers what they want.

  • I've been doing this for years. There's too many drinks in any recipe book to remember but it's ok to have the guide with you when you start out. The main and popular drinks you learn and memorize from doing them enough just like anything else.

  • Were you the one that gave me the thumbs down? I don't think I was clear enough. Seeing that I'm a girl, I like lots of stupid drinks that are annoying to make. On that note, I want to know how to make drinks that the regular customers suggest. Hell, if it's not too busy, I'll go look up the recipe on the internet. I'm all about making it so people want to come back.

  • have you ever worked as a bartender?? We can't remember everything and drinks are made different from state to state and sometimes bar to bar. We can't please everyone, sometimes people come in just to treat us like shit because they had a bad day.

  • i agree!!! there are waaaaayyyy to many drinks to even try to memorize, if idk how to make a drink ill just ask them what type of flavors they like and i can try my best to give them what they like, even if its not the drink they ordered! they like stuff like that, and they will come back

  • Actually, this guy hit the nail on the head. Keep your hands busy, be talkative, and friendly.

The tips will come if you hold up some kind of comradary with your guests.

Btw, most people call out thier drinks anyhow so its not a lot of formulas beyond the basics that you have to mix.

Instead of people saying "cuba libre" they say "rum and coke" or "cap cod" they say "vodka and Cranberry".

Just my personal experience in bartending.

  • a cuba libre is different than a rum and coke, because it has a lime. This is also true with the difference between a cape cod and a vodka and cranberry

  • thanks good tips

  • I need a man 2 treat me like a queen z

  • lol, funny comments below me. I like this video, short, simple and insightful.

  • good stuff good stuff

  • he doesnt like too much hear, hes every girls dream

  • Nice tips for some starting out!

  • ive done a little bar tending but theres no money in it and it wasn't fun enough for me to do it for the fun of it.

  • i work in midtown manhattan and make $300 in tips on a slow night plus $60 shift pay....$500-$800 Fri n Sat...no money in it? wrong, maybe it wasnt for u, but there is def money in bartending...take care

  • I'm sure tips differ from bar to bar. I'm sure you get way more tips in an upscale bar in Manhattan than you would in some dingy little tavern in the middle of nowhere. I think it's all about location.

  • no matter where you are- IF YOU DON"T HAVE THE MONEY TO TIP RIGHT STAY HOME!!!!!! across the board 18% is standard

  • God I wish I worked in the states, here in Australia tipping isn't expected.

  • @gnarkillkicksass blows brother. and using a standardised 30ml glass when makin drinks

  • @gnarkillkicksass But, we get paid better here because we don't get tipped :)

  • if youre pourtops fall off i think you need new ones.

  • nice music choice :3

  • Yeah! Flip the cup and throw things around when someone is talking to you, makes you look real genuine... Your patrons are paying you; have enough respect to at least look like you are paying attention.

  • I'd imagine he didn't mean stare right into the fucking cup your throwing around, even simple flipping of glasses while still looking at your customer is good because they enjoy it.

  • Cheers mate, I'm gonna do it at work tomorrow.

  • lol theyre playing the cheers theme lol thats awesome

  • I don't want to know if the guy likes giving head. I'd like to know if his assistant does. ;D

  • HOOOOOOOSH!!!!!!!!!!!!

Where ya been bro? Haven't seen ya in ages!

    You doing Dune this summer?

Oh...one correction...there is no such thing as "too much head". lol

  • I've secretly always wanted to be a bartender, even through my college days. Please, never show disrespect to the men and women who pour your drinks, because they know where the bottle of piss is located.

  • thanks you

  • wat a fukin dropout u went 2 college..lol..get the fuk outta here
