Was Warior really a face in WCW? And they were both faces in WWF when the match happened. That is one of the bigest matches ever in WWF everyone knew about the match, Warrior talking about it surprised nobody and changed nothing about whatever interest the rematch had..

It could have been good, but there was just no direction there. This is reflected in that fact that Havoc was just plain terrible overall that year. The entire PPV was a disaster, Warrior/Hogan was just one spoke in the wheel, albeit a very ugly spoke.

If the face brags he beat the heel already, where's the interest? The only thing left was the novelty of seeing the rematch, which isn't all that great a selling point.

@wutonchu, I don't disagree with the buyrate comment. But that has more to do with the TERRIBLE build-up that was executed. And if you remember the build-up, then you know what I mean. It could have been good, but there was just no direction there. This is reflected in that fact that Havoc was just plain terrible overall that year. The entire PPV was a disaster, Warrior/Hogan was just one spoke in the wheel, albeit a very ugly spoke.

I take offense to their slant on the WCW debut. Go back and watch the full episode of Nitro, they were building War Games 98, and team WCW was to have a mystery member. DDP came out and said it would be one guy Hogan had never beaten. Hogan came out and said, "Who is it?" Claiming he had beaten everybody. Then enter the Warrior. So he wasn't supposed to bring up WM6? Huh? They set it up! Hogan was reacting like he had seen a ghost, saying "I thought you were dead!"

In this Video Bischoff says the match was terrible between Hogan & Warrior yet the whole match was crap because Hogan continued to screw up! he spent how long getting flash paper out and used it wrong! Bischoff, "Warrior had no wrestling skills." If you watch the little clips in that match, Hogan's timing is way off, the NWO guys are involved at every move just to give Hogan time to get up.
