Can your call the Pontiff and ask him to sack pedophile priests protectors like Bishop Lynn and Vlazny . His holiness says sorry over a hundred times last march and april , but no action yet. We want to see some angry hellfire .Thank you .
His Holiness called you a heretic? Even though married priests and the absense of celibacy have been there for thousands of years? I just hope he didn't excommunicate you or anything because that will not be a good thing for the church's reputation.
The pope has the authority to allow priests to marry. The fact that it was allowed before is irrelevant. Fr. Corapi gives a good speech on why the church requires priests to remain celibate. This is so whiny...waa waa waa people will leave because the church requires sacrifice. That was very disrespectful to the pope. Sorry, but I'll follow the pope over you. If you don't agree with the church then leave. Don't try to undermine the church.
I should mention that no disrespect is meant for the pontiff with this video. I actually wished him well when I was interviewed for Italian television following my ordination in 2006. In this video, I am simply making light of the fact that while we face a severe priethood shortage, Benedict XVI nevertheless refuses to budge on the celibacy issue.
I continue to wish the pope well and hope if he sees this video, he will at least chuckle and find that no disrespect is intended.
@priestray My true belief is that celibacy and marriage for Catholic Priests is not the real motivating issue for the church's stubborness, but rather if Priests are allowed to marry and have sexual relations, it will involve children and wives poking a hole in the money net through inheritance. Not a smart move for a Fortune 500 Company such as the Catholic church. How ironic that the current scandal has to do with sex! abuse, and cover-up. Yet they preach celibacy. Hipocrites!
