You can order a ubuntu CD for free off their website if you don't want to download and burn the disk image. Alternatively, ton's of sites sell the CD for a few bucks.

Is it possible to drag files from virtualbox to the Mac desktop? I've seen that, but my VB doesn't allow that. (Ubuntu VB on Mac os X 10.5).

Does anybody knows what virtual machine does that? I've seen it at least from VMwinXP to Desktop Mac Os X.

Set up a shared folder. If you use the help button in virtual box, the coverage of shared folders is in Chapter 4 - Help->contents->(+)Sun xVm..->The VirtualBox Guest Additions->Folder sharing. You should definitely get the guest additions installed if you have not got them.
