hi thanks for the video. In the compression type, i don't have the apple ProRes. actually I only have about 8 options. why? and is mpeg-4 will be good for importing to final cut/imovie?
@TheApplePlanet I actually just plugged in the memory card from my camera and copy a single mts video to desktop. so no folder. but it was successfully imported into iMovie and actually reduced it's size to less than a half. I hope it will not lessen the quality.
@TheApplePlanet no i actually meant that mpeg4 compresses it to less than half of this original size before importing to iMovie. how can I make it full HD (from MTS format) without the apple proRes compressor?

check for corrupt or varying resolution files on the camera. delete these. A good way is to just reformat the disc or memory card. FC and Imovie is fussy.
Are you able to transfer the files from and SD card capturing AVCHD using Log and Transfer so you can avoid having to convert the files with another program? Or do you have to convert the MTS video files to do this?

Wow, man. I've been having a heck of a time trying to figure out how to do this. The whole time I've had Toast 10 Titanium, and didn't even know you could convert videos on there. Thanks a bunch man! Works like a charm!
@scottiemn glad this helped. i was really pissed when i didnt know how to do this. i always thought whats the point of filming in HD if it doesnt turn out to be HD. realised it was my fault.
thanks for your help!!!!...I did exactlly what you said, but Im having problems, by the time i want to render the clip, it just rendering the audio!!! and the image video keeps still in the canvas while the audio runs!! PLEASE HELP ME!!!
hey! very good video!!! ..i have a short question...i have a panasonic hdc sd707 and i recorded some footage in 1080/50p. please tell me how can i get this format from mts into final cut? can i convert it in toast as well?...how to adjust the fps? ..which compression type? i dont have any plan- SORRY!:) ...have a nice week!
@FolkerRacho Well same process as in the video. It works with lots of formats. Just go through the process with your format. Toast is really format friendly.
