  • hi thanks for the video. In the compression type, i don't have the apple ProRes. actually I only have about 8 options. why? and is mpeg-4 will be good for importing to final cut/imovie?

  • @apolotoy quick question. do u still have the AVCHD folder where your mts vids are located?

  • @TheApplePlanet I actually just plugged in the memory card from my camera and copy a single mts video to desktop. so no folder. but it was successfully imported into iMovie and actually reduced it's size to less than a half. I hope it will not lessen the quality.

  • @apolotoy well in final cut theres also an option called log and transfer. it will allow u to import the files with no quality loss.

  • @TheApplePlanet no i actually meant that mpeg4 compresses it to less than half of this original size before importing to iMovie. how can I make it full HD (from MTS format) without the apple proRes compressor?

  • Thank you.

  • Gracias amigo, me salvaste!

  • @Kakansho really?

  • Great video, brother. Thank you!

  • Why can't I select 5.1 audio?!?!

  • Does this mean if you want to take a video off youtube and put it into Final Cut it will let me edit it?

  • @AwesomeJRFD well youtube videos arent exactly mts. This is mostly used to convert videos.

  • i only have a handful of types to select, Apple ProRes not being one. What am i missing?

  • @dacitizenonline only a handful in toast? have u got fcp installed? because it usually appears after the install of fcp.

  • @TheApplePlanet yes installed FCPX before installing Toast... also, do you know where i can export as WMV?

  • 1:53 for tutorial

  • Mine doesn't give me the apple pro res option to compress it

  • Thank you. Great tutorial!

  • Ladies and gentlemen, this program costs $80. Just lettin you know =)

once I get a mac, I'm totally buying this program. ^^ Thanks hun! (To the owner of the video)

  • can you help me? is there a reason why I am getting this error?

"AVCHD" contains unsupported media or has an invalid directory structure. Please choose a folder whose directory structure matches supported media."

how can I get rid of this?

  • @face2facechick

check for corrupt or varying resolution files on the camera. delete these. A good way is to just reformat the disc or memory card. FC and Imovie is fussy.

  • Are you able to transfer the files from and SD card capturing AVCHD using Log and Transfer so you can avoid having to convert the files with another program? Or do you have to transfer the MTS video files to do this?

  • @JConyers13 yes you can. Its just im not sure how to do it but i know you can. ive seen others do it.

  • Wow, man. I've been having a heck of a time trying to figure out how to do this. The whole time I've had Toast 10 Titanium, and didn't even know you could convert videos on there. Thanks a bunch man! Works like a charm!

  • @scottiemn glad this helped. i was really pissed when i didnt know how to do this. i always thought whats the point of filming in HD if it doesnt turn out to be HD. realised it was my fault.

  • thanks for your help!!!!...I did exactlly what you said, but Im having problems, by the time i want to render the clip, it just rendering the audio!!! and the image video keeps still in the canvas while the audio runs!! PLEASE HELP ME!!!

  • hey! very good video!!! ..i have a short question...i have a panasonic hdc sd707 and i recorded some footage in 1080/50p. please tell me how can i get this format from mts into final cut? can i convert it in toast as well?...how to adjust the fps? ..which compression type? i dont have any plan- SORRY!:) ...have a nice week!

  • @FolkerRacho Well same process as in the video. It works with lots of formats. Just go through the process with your format. Toast is really format friendly.

  • @TheApplePlanet thank you!
