  • They make it sound so high tech and complicated. And there are much better ways than using external devices or just looking at your hands periodically.

  • lucid dreams are cool but they are hard to recognize and have.

  • 4:18 'professor dumb-le-dore'....

  • Wow I wishbi knew this a long time ago. Bc I was having a dream and I looked at my hands and they were bricks. No joke. But all I did was panic so I waked up.

  • @011MetaboliC100 that's not lucid dreaming. If you say it felt like it was real than it was a regular dream. Lucid dreaming is when u know u are dreaming and u can do anything u want because its your mind. So basically what u do in the lucid dream is real, but only in your mind.

  • Imagine if we could record dreams, then there will be Lucid Oscars for the best dream creators lol

  • Why the hell would they bring up vanilla sky?

  • @nathanwcoffey Because it's about overcoming fear of heights by jumping off of a building in a lucid dream.

  • wow daydreaming what a new concept....wow day dream ing just new ...real

  • are these people stupid enough not to realise what 1/3 is?

  • It's funny that she thought that she had a lucid dream just by putting the mask on.

  • I always have lucid dreams of me running extremely fast or jumping really high its so much fun and it feels so real.

  • I remember I had a lucid dream a few years ago, when Youtube was still new.

During the dream I wanted to know if I'd got any Comment replies so I dreamed up a computer and used it to check my hotmail. XD

  • Check out my page for a song that came to me in a lucid dream! :)

  • All of you r noobs at lucid dreams am such a pro haxor hahah in yo face noobs. lets meet up in a dream noobs hahah.

  • I used to lucid dream when I was younger... I had the most vivid life at that time.. My conscious hours where in preparation for my unconscious hours, as they were always far more interesting. Always a good conversation starter.. When you portray your dreams as a spontaneous phenomena as opposed to self induced activity.. You're imagination grows exponentially. I need to get back into the practice.

I've just got so much anxiety, I rarely sleep deeply enough to dream: or at least to recall...:)

  • "People with epilepsy should avoid those flashing lights"

She waits till after they fucking flash it all over the screen to say this. lol

  • Love the end - 'A new professor dumblador'... :)

    Dumb bitch :P

  • haha !

  • @Predadragon .. snort. Professor Dumblahdor!

  • 1m40s

    see

    2m19s

Seems legit - who doesn't have conversations during REM sleep?

  • Even right-wing Fox news knows that lucid dreaming is a footstep in the direction of spiritual enlightenment. Or at least a cool way to play out crazy thoughts.

  • Google orgonite :)

  • watching this is really frustrating,

i've never had a lucid dream and i want one so bad.

  • I usually pig out when I'm in a lucid dream.

  • im only 18 and i LD alot.... epic things happen when u want it ..makes things more intersting xD........DBZ is the most fun for me... super speed, power to bring out energy.and so on

  • Research sleep paralysis.....many confuse this sleep episode with alien abductions. I've had sleep paralysis around 6 or 7 times. Very weird shit.

  • i think that if you want to lucid dream, you will get successfull in the end. just focus, you have to want to lucid dream, and when you do it can be very special :)

  • I always lucid dream:D

  • i never lucid dream... sad face....

  • i always lucid dream when i was a teen.....oh the things i did :) now i cant lucid dream anymore cause i cant remember its a dream.!!!!!!!!

  • That was veeery laconic.

Explained lucid dreaming perhaps not from the wrong angle, but too short to fully understand what it's about. Myself, I was training a long time ago and I had 3 lucid dreams.

  • I started lucid dreaming towards the end of march and ive had 8 lucid dreams

  • it depends on commitment

unfortunately, i didn't have enough time to practice and soon i became too tired to think about dreams...

i think i'll start again in summer

  • I was in the oddest place in my dream last night and i did'nt become lucid.

  • i've been having really weird dreams recently

i can't wait to regain control

  • Watch my vlog videos on my youtube channel about my lucid dreaming progress.

  • big tip if you get into a lucid dream and you realize it spin around as this makes the dream more vivid and makes it hard for you to wake your self up accidentally.

  • they bad speaking voices.. maybe thats why they're on fox....

  • Lucid dreaming is easy, why buy aids for it? Step 1 start recording your dreams till you can remember at LEAST 1 each night. 2 improve your dream recall and start doing reality checks. 3 Profit with lucid dreams. Once you start having lucid dreams and practice the skill, you will start having DILD more often. Or you can learn to do WILDS (wake induced lucid dreaming) while harder to do, they are still possible for anyone to do.

  • Not everyone has an easy time Lucid Dreaming. There are a number of things to prevent it: 1) Stress 2) Diet 3) Changes in life etc. I have a number of people who were "naturals" but they tell me that due to stress or job changes they were unable to do it and they miss it. Or they did it all the time when they were kids but now as an adult they have a hard time - That is where TheDreamMask comes in as an aid or tool to let you know you're dreaming.

  • i never knew that maybe i should clam down then never had 1 more for a week and i can do it with eaze i love lucid dreaming your disire's come to life xD

  • aint no thing my man, just a question of understanding and practice. Bottom line is its all down to brain chemistry and stacking the odds favourably by getting up and trying to attain lucidity after 4 hrs of regular sleep. Anything else will unlikely yield a result

  • Oh, that happened to me once. I knew I was dreaming so I flew into the sky. It was crazy. Didn't really last though.

  • I know that music in the background from somewhere...

    Anyone know?

    Hate when this happens.

  • Brian Eno Deep Blue Day....

I hate when that happens to me too....

  • It's called REM sleep.

  • XDXD ha ha! the girla t the end said: dumbladore XD

  • is there a risk that you wont wake up

  • no you'll always wake up.

its impossible to never wake up from a dream... unless you're dead!

  • I know where ur coming from with this question.

I thought it happened to me when I was in my LD, it felt like it lasted for a whole day, but don't worry its harmless.

I eventually sat down in an outdoor restaurant and waited to wake up LOL.

FYI: I didn't even know that this wasn't a common thing among people since I have had them ever since I could first remember, which was so many years ago as a young teen.

  • thats the same as asking - "how do i know i'm not dreaming right now?"

  • lol

  • ROFL

  • i lucid dream...but try LSD too. its really not that fucking bad for u. alcohol is the 5th worst drug. LSD is the 13th!

  • I keep seeind LSD on the net. Just WTF is it? please tell me.

  • its a drug that shouldnt be illegal that puts you in a different state of conciousness and causes hallucinations...how old are u?

  • I'm 17. I know its Lysergic Drug, I was confused for a while because I didn't know its abrv. but its ok now.

  • hendrix man, you're an idiot.

  • i used to barely have any dreams and now its like sky rocketting, so now is the perfect chance for lucid dreaming

  • omg everyone knows who the new dumbledoor's gonna be and no one cares

  • if you hear a ringing in your ears just let it sort of overcome you and it gets intense then your eyes start to get sore because they're moving around so much. i think of it as kick starting the rapid eye movement before you fall asleep

  • can someone plz message me on how to lucid dream? cuz it never works for me

  • Didn't you just watch the video?!

  • to all people who lucid dream:

are you aware that it is possible to enter an OBE while in a lucid dream? just will youself to leave the body and it works.

  • how do you enter OBE while in lucid dream state? i have tried but no success. this is what i did. when lucid dreaming, i willed dreamscape to go completely black. i sat down (floating in space technically) and meditated on OBE. i felt massive vibrations, but then nothing else significant to report on. then i lost my lucid dream state and woke up. that's about as close as i got.

  • you don't need any of this fancy technology. here is the easy steps to learning to lucid dreams:

    1) go to bed early

    2) be relaxed

    3) say to yourself 3 times "I will control my dreams"

    4) eventually fall asleep

it took me 3 nights before i had my first lucid dream. within a few weeks i was fully capable of controlling my dreams. this means FULL control. you can wipe landscape clean build it up however you like. go to different countries, speak russian whatever.

  • Omg i've been trying for like 3 months now. I only have a lucid dream like once every 3 weeks maybe :( Sometimes I can't even fully control it.

  • Damn, i get lucid dreams but i would wake my self up in case it turned into a nightmare! Next time i will not wake myself up. I shall fear no evil, lol!!

  • Oh, and what a massive spoiler, haha!

  • im not aware during lucid dreaming. I just enjoy it. I lucid dream every night.

  • Then you're not lucid dreaming :P

  • yah i know lol

  • BTW.: when will scientists finally come to terms with whether is it 6, 8 or 25 years of our life that we spend on our sleep? Cause I still don't know whom to believe :S

  • I experience lucid dreams quite often and what seems intriguing to me is that most of the times these are not nightmares, which happen to be my most common recurring dreams. :)

  • However, in the case of lucid dreaming one somehow can move his body and think along with his dreaming. It's pretty much like being inside the matrix, living two parallel worlds. Because I always remember my dreams I have more chances that lucid dreams will come to me naturally, while those who cannot retell their dreams have to practice and gradually learn to induce lucid dreams.

  • My experience so far makes me believe that one who is lucid dreaming cannot actually control his dreams but he is just being aware of dreaming as such. The case is that when we are dreaming our muscles relax (what is scientifically called muscular paralysis), preventing us from acting out our dreams and thus possibly injure ourselves. So the only thing we can sense at the time of dreaming is the sound waves.

  • I'm a pro haxor of dreams

  • dreamhax?! haxing noobS! lololololol

  • Um, cool video, but thanks for spoiling the movie!

  • What is the name of the song in the background? I think its from some kind of movie, i cant sleep without knowing it. Darn. Please help me!

    -love from Norway-

  • lucid dreaming is paradise,(when you learn to control your dream). last night, i controled my first lucid dream, im not the best, but i made poeple distort like what happens to your hands.

  • i love flyign in lucid dreams its all is do haha

  • yeah it's so fun!!! XD! i mess with time in teh dream too.

  • I've been into lucid dreaming for about 5-6 years, and even before that as a young child I did it, it's cool to see this stuff on TV, although it is very old news to me :P.

I'm just dumbfounded that this is such a rare thing to know about, it pains me to know we live in a world were truly wonderful unbelievable skill knowledge can be so unknown to the vast majority.

  • "People with epelepsi should not use those flashing lights" duh!

    you should'nt smack a tiger either -.-

  • DMT FTW

  • (Dimethyltryptamine) look it up its pretty interesting. its the chemical that triggers dreaming and can actually be extracted from plants into drug form. very profound stuff for any psychedelic enthusiasts out there.

  • lucid dreaming is so dope

  • Lucid Dreaming is awesome, I started not too long ago and i've had two lucid dreams so far...I sadly didn't have control over them though, well actually one lucid dream that I had I was convinced that I was Dr. Doom and for some reason I though I could turn little figure things into real people with my mind...lol

  • you are not LUCID dreaming if you cant control it

  • No...lucid just means you are aware that you are in a dream. Controlling it is something you learn to do. I can be aware yet not be able to control anything, not that hard to understand.

  • ok sorry =)

  • It's cool, I used to think the same thing but I figured out lucid was just knowing that I was in a dream, I learned to control them though...which is badass. Peace :)

  • what if we are all dreaming right now but in the real world we are sleeping and this "real world" that we are in now we are actually having a lucid dream so lucid we are in a different deminsion what if a lifetime here is only on night of sleep in the real world and we wont remember this dream when we wake up and when we die in this world we wake up in the real world/heaven?

  • Jesus man, you need to write a book about that or something bro, that's deep...

  • Damn that was deep!

  • im pretty sure everyone has come across this thought at least once in there life, i know i have :p

  • wow... that's amazing... o-o

  • @cyperz11 yeah everyone's seen inception

  • @Mantei8 lol, yeah I forgot about this post but I made this 2 years ago, Inception just came out this year.

  • you can do anything in a lucid dream, that includes taking drugs like lsd or shrooms, and actually trip while you are dreaming. i haven't done this myself but i've heard a lot of people talk about it and its like the real thing

  • Epic to see lucid dreaming in the media.

  • You know now that i remember i actually had some crazy ass dreams that werent lucid dreaming though. Like i remember i could float in the air and like fly but i wasn't aware that it was a dream. Also, i remember i had a dream where i could jump super high and i would be going from building to building lol. i had scary dreams that were cool too. like dreaming i was at home and there were twisters near me. i had to hold on for dear like and try to stop the father twister and get him away lol.

  • I remember i lucid dreamed once and what i did was i had myself think that i was in a bedroom with 2 hot chicks and i was about to do it and it worked lmao. i was getting them naked and stuff and right when i was about to put it on them i woke up and i was wet lmao

  • I remember i lucid dreamed once and what i did was i had myself think that i was in a bedroom with 2 hot chicks and i was about to do it and it worked lmao. i was getting them naked and stuff and right when i was about to put it on them i woke up and i was wet lmao

  • dude, this gave me chills. I used to dream a lot as a kid, but i don't really even ever remember my dreams anymore. I wanna learn how to do this!

  • me too. dreams are so interesting. =o

  • no..i guess i won't believe it.

try real hard to fall asleep. i'm an oneironaut and a recovering drug addict.. you can't lucidly dream while you are tripping, you can't focus your thoughts enough.

  • i don't know if this has any relevance but i had a brief affair with LSD(about 3 weeks, and 10 tabs) and about a week later i was having lucid dreams up to 5 times a week

  • try taking LSD or mushrooms in a lucid dream! you wont believe it!

  • haha dude i know what you mean!

  • or any idea about things...

    LOL

  • ok.. Instead of saying I wanna be a Yoshi in my dream... I will say I wanna Lucid Dream. Now it can finally be fulfilled!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • lol this stuff is so facinating lol i have lucid dreams almost every night and its true when i was younger my nightmares would haunt me but ever since i was a preteen and started lucid dreaming its amazing what i have accomplished just im my own path to self enlightenment and its true i only get about 3-5 hours of sleep a night but i still have the energy of someone who slept 8-10 hours everday

  • is it possible to almost go lucid? lol. cause i remember i was in a forst picking mushrooms in a dream when i asked myself if i was dreaming or not. but somehow convinced myself that i wasnt dreaming. and that it was reality. any1 got a explanation for this?

  • Blaine, that is lucid dreaming. You just have to do it all the time and get good at it!

  • but like i thought it was reality and had no idea i was in a dream. and thought it was reality where as being lucid u know your in a dream right?

  • Yes, this is correct. You may see a purple cat, and say, "Hey, that isn't normal..wait a minute." But then you'll get distracted by something else, say, you're suddenly late for school/work, and run off, accepting it all as reality.

  • i once had a dream where i was link, the hero of time.

  • lol, most of my dreams somehow involves something from Zelda-games. Mostly I explore some dungeons. :D

  • My lucid dreams are perverted. lol

  • wow, i was just watching all these videos of The Who and i come to watch this and the first thing they have when they do the montage thing is pete townshend sliding across the stage lol

  • Lucid dreaming's an amazing experience, I've been having them for a good few years. Only recently did I discover they were referred to as 'lucid'.

  • Try controling them.

  • this is really bothering me like anything i look up for a lucid dreaming it always talks about the trick is not to wake up and my problem is i cant wake up itll feel like i m trapped i try to scream just so i mite actually scream and sum1 will hear me and wake me up cuz at times it feels like i m dreaming for days and it isnt fun its scary is this happening to anyone else?

  • why do you want to wake up emidiatly.y<ou can try to enjoy it.

  • bcuz even tho i know i m dreaming its really hard to control it n after it feels like i ve been in my dream a couple days its really scary nd sum how physically hurts

  • Trapped? What you're describing sounds more like sleep paralysis. Try the following resource: lucidity[DOT]com[SLASH]nightmare[DOT]html.

Also, the film Waking Life mentions sleep paralysis (2nd to last scene at the pinball table) briefly, along with LDing in general. It could be worth checking out for you.

  • just think "this is MY dream in MY mind, I am not trapped I can wake up anytime I want!"

or you can stare at something really long, this stops your eyes from moving rapid (part of REM-sleep) if u stop the REM u will wake up :D

  • its all about singularity! dreams just bring your sub-concsious into the mix.

  • I dream every morning and I just can't become self aware. I know the signs to look for, but I don't think to question it at all, even when something bizarre happens, any tips anyone?!

  • dream recall helps alot remember what you do in your dreams.

  • Get a book and/or read alot of articles. There are many methods, but you chose the DILD (slow/realization) method. Try practicing WILDS as they will speed up the process. dreamviews[DOT]com is a great forum with tons of lucid dreaming information. Also, Tibetan Dream Yoga is a great book for practices, more in-depth. Lucid dreaming is a practice of Buddhism ;)

  • What I used to do is set my alarm clock like 2 hours before I had to get up. Then begin to "focus" on falling back to sleep. You can guide yourself right into the dream.

  • Writing out your dreams is important. My own triggers to getting lucid were actually stuff people said which sounded false and out of character. As soon as you pick a fake, you'll be aware you're dreaming and then you can pretty much do anything. BTW, don't try and fly in your first LD or you'll just wake yourself up. It's like the Matrix in that respect.

  • I wanna lucid dream for enternity. In one I accidently got my head crushed by an elevator

  • lol

  • I flew in my first LD but instead of waking up it sort of became one of those flying dreams and I just forgot it was a dream at all :D

  • I've had two lucid dreams. Once, I was able to control this man, and realized it was a dream, and I could sort of use him like a puppet. In another, I knew I was dreaming but woke up before I could do anything. >:(

I'm gonna try lucid dreaming now.

  • i remember when i was about 9 or 10 i could realise when i was dreaming and kind of explore my dream, but now i dream less and never lucid dream :(

  • I edited a short clip about the vanilla sky movie and lucid dreaming - if you are interested visit my videos...

  • My english is bad, so I will say few lines about them. Basically it is like some kind of drug. You can see far beyond yourself. Once I had and Astral Projection during the dream too. I'm musician and writer and lucid dreaming helps me to create some new melodies and situations in songs. Basiclly it is psychedelic kind of melodies and text but people likes it and they can't belive that I'm not on any kind of drug. Greetings from Croatia. Sorry again on my bad spelling and bad english. Bye.

  • You spell better than many people on youtube =]

also your english is very good =]

  • i agree

  • That's really cool! And also, you have perfect English!

  • lucid dreamings fun

  • that is so amazing that he can control his dreams every night i wish i could but i havent had a lucid dream in a long time and the last time i did it was horrifying...but then again, mabye since it was scary it wasnt a lucid dream and i was just dreaming that i was having a lucid dream...weird

  • this is real stuff people...experts teach to lucid dream in days....I have link to a site that teaches to lucid dream with a video tutorial....they charge a small amount...but hey...once you learn it´s a free natural high every night lol

  • Look on Wikipedia. They actually have steps and suggestions.

  • I've had some comic experiences with OBE during sleep. This past winter I let my beard grow just for the heck of it. As I was leaving my body one night I must have wrinkled my upper lip because the mustache tickled my nose and brought me up to near awake...and there I was.. my spirit head was sticking out of the top of my body head. Caught as it was leaving.

  • i think they completely missed the things you can due during lucid dreaming

  • I think most people dont really lucid dream. These people are usually people that hold beliefs. Or delusional people, that have delusional obsessions about themselves, big egos, basically people who think they divine or something alone that line. But w.e thats my rant, and why this science will unlikely have more mainstream study.

  • you are totally wrong man, i lucid dream and i have no beliefs what so ever, i am athiest. Lucid dreaming is easy to master. just reeakky think about t before going to sleep

  • i think god got two bits of you mixed around as their is so much s*** coming out your "mouth"

  • nah dude. i can see where you're coming from though. ive had a few lucid dreams before but i can never fucking stay asleep when i realise im dreaming.

  • strange when i lucid dream i dont bother looking at my hands. You know your lucid dreaming, looking at your hands can break up the dream, you should just follow the projection of the dream your brain sets up for you. Dont do anything extreme and you can keep a dream going for a while.

  • i did that yesterday i usually wake up at 11:30 on the weekend but yeterday (on the weekend) I woke up at 8:20 plus i knew i was in my dream when i was!!! It was cool!!!!

  • Very cool

  • once i had lusic dream. i saw my house and then i was trying to run towards it. then i woke up!! damn!! i was really understanding, that i'm dreaming..
