@talktodapug Um. Wow, that was a really stupid statement... as long as you are near something that is a conductor of electricity, you can get hit by lightning. An airplane, is obviously metal, so it's a conductor of electricity, therefore electricity on electricity equals "big zap". Source: common knowledge.

@mikos321 Haha! You have to be insane! Not effected by lightning? It wouldnt bring a plane down, but oh hell they are effected, they can travel through all the electrical systems and cause a shortage! When a plane is flying air particles create charge through the skin of the aircraft, lightning adds to this and the air plane simply cannot handle or Discharge the amount of electricity! As soon as they land they are alos checked fully over for damage! :)

Microsoft Flight isn't part of the Microsoft Flight Simulator series. Microsoft closed down ACES Studio in 2009 for budget cuts (mainly for stupid Games For Windows LIVE). Microsoft Studios is the new Flight team. But most of the former ACES Studio staff made their own company called "Cascade Game Foundry". They haven't said what there making yet, but the screenshots and info on their page strongly hints a Flight Simulator, a Train Simulator, and some sort of Underwater Diving Simulator.

@RCSRex I heard the Aces studio / Cascade Game Foundry people are now working on Lockheed Martin's Prepar3D, which uses the FSX source code (which they licensed from MS) and fixes it + adds a bunch of features like trains, submarines, etc. Eventually I think it'll be an "all-modes-of-travel" sim where you can do whatever you want, wherever you want. Right now Prepar3D is technically only available for commercial purposes but you can buy a "developer" license for about $10/month.

Im like you in the fact that I use FS to train.Better graphics do make for a better sim expierience. I just think rather than spend thousands on a great flight sim setup,I should save my money for flight school. :)
