I heard KH will be also for Microsoft console for being SquareEnix and as far as I'm concerned the only console they refused to make SquareEnix games was on the N64 and t prove my point check out for what consoles ff13 was released...that's right 360,so it's possible that this becomes true and after all,many of those who bought a 360 was for being more economic that the PS3 and shit.So yeah,keep hopes up cuz there's maybe a KH game for 360 of future Microsoft consoles.
And don't forget, the new game(s) out on the new system... the 3ds :/ overall that's 6 different systems and only 2 of the games have been console games. And the console games have been the most fun... i just wish they'd finally make another console one. it's been 6 years now, and i think some people just like it as nostalgia and not really as a current game anymore. (I might be one of those people soon...)
I FREAKIN LOVE THIS SERIES i have a friend with a ps2 and kingdom hearts 2 I FELL IN LOVE WITH THIS GAME but i dont own a ps2 or ps3 and now he hates kingdom hearts the reason i have never been able to get a single game is because i am a fan of the wii and 360 and a new 3ds so i can finally have a kingdom hearts game for its system so i refuse to buy a ds kingdom hearts game because they look terrible
Honestly, I'd rather read the other stories on KH Wiki and just play KH1, KH2, KHBBS, and the future KH3. Don't get me wrong though, I still love the series itself, and always will.

I rather liked that they multi-platformed the game. Not everyone is going to own a PS2. Could they have released it for other platforms rather than that one. Well they did. They brought coded to DS and CoM to PS2. Yeah you need multiple systems to get the full story. I played most of them and their pretty decent on getting the story idea in each game. Just to note I heard that Square had a deal they could only release the main series on the Sony system making side games for other platforms.
@Yuskuegirl I disagree. The Wii is okay but too many buttons in the game for the Wii controller. Plus KH has always had a contract with Sony it should stay like that and be released for the PS3 or 4.
Can't Square Enix just place Kingdom Hearts 3 for the Wii? It really would make the game play better, you could play the game like Legend of Zelda's: Twilight Princess, or like Sonic in the Black Knight. Plus if your ones that aren't too fond of swinging the hell out of a wii mote and using a nunchuk, you can play it like Sonic Unleashed will multiple controllers. Hopefully that's the plan if Nintendo doesn't screw up. Anybody agree or disagree?
I have to agree. I love KH to bits but its so annoying that they're coming out on so many systems. I am not getting dream drop distance, instead I'll watch the story on here then get it when the game and 3ds is a lot cheaper. I'm glad I got coded for the ds and chain of memories for the ps2.
Good point, but its just your opinion. My opinion is mainly all great releases... I fully completed all thats out besides 358/2 Days. You could say that I am a complete KH nutcase... but I'm not. Dream Drop Distance will be the next one I'll get, and it will be epic!

I totally agree. I think the main reason they keep making plot holes in the story is so they can release another game to explain it, letting them get more money off it. And, good point. Theyre all on separate systems. Luckily, I have all of them ;) Im pretty sure Square Enix said that after they make KH 3D Dream Drop Distance, theyd start developement on KH3.
What I like AND hate about the Kingdom Hearts series is the plot. What I like about it is that it is MASSIVE which is also it's greatest flaw. Don't get me wrong but the plot is so HUGE that it made a mess of itself.
TO EVERYONE i am not sure if this has already been said but you can get nifty things called emulators on a computer which allow you to play these games on your computer or for Nintendo systems you can even get them on your Wii. Just letting people know. (Oh god I just said nifty)

I agree with the whole system change thing like some other people. Luckily, I happened to have both a GBA and PS2 when the first games came out, and a DS for 358/2 Days as well, but I didn't have a PSP or mobile phone for Coded either. (Well, actually, they released Coded for the DS just a couple of months ago, I think.) So, I haven't gotten to play BBS to this day, and probably don't plan to. (Unless they happen to re-release it for a different console that I already own.)

Coded, well, we're basically fucked there because it only came out IN JAPAN! WTF!? But at least they were 'kind' enough to remake it for the DS. Still BS, but at least American has it now.

358/2 Days is pretty much filler, Birth by Sleep is a prequel that is very good for a handheld game, and Coded is BULLSHIT!!! That game was even re-made for the DS, and it's still not needed in the story!

um Johnny, Kingdom Hearts coded is being remade into the DS called Kingdom Hearts Re:coded on the DS, like Kingdom Hearts Re:Chain of Memories, but not on PS2 or any other home console
@cerrtified The only downside with Re:COM is that it wasn't released outside America and Japan, thus has no compatability with PS2s of other regions. Again, the remake does give KHfans like Johnny what they want, but so long as they are in Japan or America; the rest of us miss out. :(

Coded actually isn't canon as far as I know. It's supposedly just a review on the finer details in the first game, and the gameplay is... blech at best, going from a demo I played a few months back. There's still no excuse for putting Days on the DS, and putting BBS on the PSP was just a moneymaking scheme to get people to buy the system.
@masterman332 its canon it takes place after kh2 its the first game to be released that does take place after kh2...big time, it leads into the plot for either kh3D or whatever the next game is

I have to wait for Re:Coded before I can get it, but from what information I've managed to find on the internet Coded is just a recap of the KH1 story. So sure it might take place and that makes it canon, but it doesn't affect anything, so it's not driving canon.

I totally had no idea where the plot went when I got kingdom hearts 2 after playing one, when I found out I was really pissed off, its like they're on purposely trying to annoy buyers.
358/2 days was kinda useless as of plot because roxas spends most of the time asleep and when he is awake hes just running errands really you need roughly 10 of the missions in that game and you have the story of it
Johnny, I just became a subscriber and an active youtube user not too long ago, but I do have one thing to say. the Kingdom Hearts series is amazing, personally I have all five released to the US titles (KH1, KH:COM, KH:358days/2, KH:RE:COM, and KH2) Coded is at the end of the Kingdom Hearts timeline taking place long after the events on 2. Coded, therefore, is unnecessary for completion of the series because Japan has not yet stated if they will decide to release it state side.
but with the different systems they have it out for they always make a RE: game for the a game system alot of people have! like re: coded coming out for the DS and Re: chain of memorys for the PS2 eventually there will probably be a Re:358 days/2 for the Ps2 or Ps3 and a Re: birth by sleep for the PS2 or PS3
there's reasons for recoded and rechain. most people hated chain on a 2d playing ground, as for coded the only reason it's getting remade is becuse japan's cell phones are more powerful then they are in the west. days is pretty much useless as to story and brith by sleep is doing just fine on psp so i don't see them getting remade(but knowing square they'll do it if just for the money).
@xxSteviexxx I don't see why not considering final fantasy 13 is on the 360 and shows crite well. If the game comes out on one console like nintindo I probrably would be ok with it, but coming out on the ps3 and not the 360 would be lazy
As for the whole KH fanbase screaming for a Kingdom Hearts III, where in the storyline would it fit? Probably after coded, but coded is for a Japanese audience only as far as I know, so US patrons would be lost as fuck unless they're diehard supernerds with enough time to scour the whole internet for translations on coded.
I honestly think that releasing the games on multiple systems is bullshit. I had KH 1, Re:CoM, and II, but they went with my PS2, now I have CoM and 358/2, and as for BbS and coded, I couldn't care less. I saw a few Japanese cutscenes, and they looked cool, but I didn't bother scouring Google for translations. (cont.)

I adore the kingdom hearts saga and i wasnt planning on buying the 358/2 days because i didnt have a Ds luckily i borrowed one,. and it is a huge Bummer for the different systems you really need to know whats happening to Roxas and it gives you much more emotion from Axel and xion unfortunatly you have to shell out to get the full deal. when i first played kh2 i barely even got why they threw roxas into the mix but now 358/2 is there it completes everything in the series so far.

I know you can look up the story on the internet but the game in some of the new games is something I've alwayswante to do in the other games for example in 358/2 you can play as many as 20 characters and in birth by sleep you can do first person shooter I"ve always wanted to do that in KH
Well, the one of mobile doesn't look that interesting. I could buy the DS and GBA games, but the PSP one. I don't have much reasons to buy a PSP. Maybe Sonic Rivals, MGS portable ops and peace walker.

i don't see the problem with having the games on different systems. with the next few games that are coming out, you are able to play anywhere. now the fans can play anytime they want, unlike not being able to leave the basement or something.

He does got a point. That's alot of systems to complete the story, but its cool for those who can't have a PS2. Its no big deal to me , since I have most of those systems anyway( although, I can't say the same for KH coded).
They did discuss rereleasing Coded on the PSP, but no word on that so far. I do agree the splitting possible canon games over the span of three different gaming consoles is total BS. It took them four years, FOUR years to continue the first game, which a few small references to CoM, and who knows how many more until III comes out(which supposedly won't be its name.)

Another thing that annoys me is how stuff from the handheld games doesn't really get truly acknowledged in the main games. Take CoM's events for KH2 like how they don't try to explain what happened to the rest of the organization. Overall it leads to extremely sloppy and awkward writing. That's not even getting into the Japan only Final Mixes that rectons and adds stuff US fans don't see.

I agreee with everything you've said. This is why I keep telling people to not buy the spin offs and download/watch all the cut scenes subbed or once dubbed on Youtube instead of buying the games.

Couldn't agree more. I was super excited about the sequel to the original game, and got so ticked off having to chase information about the GBA game in between the two PS2 games just to make some sense of the second storyline. I can forgive them for doing that once but NOW THEY'RE DOING IT AGAIN, not on one but THREE different systems?! I give up.

Oh my god, i really wish people would stop gushing over all the system changes -_- the reason he released it on GBA was due to the fact that FANS DEMANDED it be on a portable system, and to have variety, not everybody can handle have the mediocre graphics and a dead system like the ps2 not saying it was a bad system but its life ended long ago >.>

YES! Someone like me! I agree, it's total crap that we would have to get both hand held systems to get 358/2 Days and Birth By Sleep.
Coded, well, we're basically fucked there because it only came out IN JAPAN! WTF!? But at least they were 'kind' enough to remake it for the DS. Still BS, but at least American has it now.
I hate to say it, but I had to use a damn Emulator to play 358/2 Days, which I don't support too much because of obvious reasons.
We should NOT have to resort to Emulators!

358/2 Days is pretty much filler, Birth by Sleep is a prequel that is very good for a handheld game, and Coded is BULLSHIT!!! That game was even re-made for the DS, and it's still not needed in the story!

@cerrtified The only downside with Re:COM is that it wasn't released outside America and Japan, thus has no compatability with PS2s of other regions. Again, the remake does give KHfans like Johnny what they want, but so long as they are in Japan or America; the rest of us miss out. :(

Coded actually isn't canon as far as I know. It's supposedly just a review on the finer details in the first game, and the gameplay is... blech at best, going from a demo I played a few months back. There's still no excuse for putting Days on the DS, and putting BBS on the PSP was just a moneymaking scheme to get people to buy the system.

I have to wait for Re:Coded before I can get it, but from what information I've managed to find on the internet Coded is just a recap of the KH1 story. So sure it might take place and that makes it canon, but it doesn't affect anything, so it's not driving canon.
Again, I haven't played for myself. I could be wrong, and if I am, well, sorry.

358/2 days was kinda useless as of plot because roxas spends most of the time asleep and when he is awake hes just running errands really you need roughly 10 of the missions in that game and you have the story of it

Johnny, I just became a subscriber and an active youtube user not too long ago, but I do have one thing to say. the Kingdom Hearts series is amazing, personally I have all five released to the US titles (KH1, KH:COM, KH:358days/2, KH:RE:COM, and KH2) Coded is at the end of the Kingdom Hearts timeline taking place long after the events on 2. Coded, therefore, is unnecessary for completion of the series because Japan has not yet stated if they will decide to release it state side.

there's reasons for recoded and rechain. most people hated chain on a 2d playing ground, as for coded the only reason it's getting remade is becuse japan's cell phones are more powerful then they are in the west. days is pretty much useless as to story and brith by sleep is doing just fine on psp so i don't see them getting remade(but knowing square they'll do it if just for the money).

As for the whole KH fanbase screaming for a Kingdom Hearts III, where in the storyline would it fit? Probably after coded, but coded is for a Japanese audience only as far as I know, so US patrons would be lost as fuck unless they're diehard supernerds with enough time to scour the whole internet for translations on coded.

I honestly think that releasing the games on multiple systems is bullshit. I had KH 1, Re:CoM, and II, but they went with my PS2, now I have CoM and 358/2, and as for BbS and coded, I couldn't care less. I saw a few Japanese cutscenes, and they looked cool, but I didn't bother scouring Google for translations. (cont.)

I adore the kingdom hearts saga and i wasnt planning on buying the 358/2 days because i didnt have a Ds luckily i borrowed one,. and it is a huge Bummer for the different systems you really need to know whats happening to Roxas and it gives you much more emotion from Axel and xion unfortunatly you have to shell out to get the full deal. when i first played kh2 i barely even got why they threw roxas into the mix but now 358/2 is there it completes everything in the series so far.

I mean, I was happy that I was happy RE: CoM came out on the PS2 meaning I could complete the collection, then I got a PS3 in advance, only to find out the future of the series lay in 3 different systems. So I've ended up buying a ps2. And I played kh1 and 2,
lets just say kh 1 had an enormous cliffhanger, hardly anything was concluded in that game at all.
kh 2...well...i consider it the final game...
anyways, chains of memories isn't necessary to play kh 2, reason being the reports you get in the meny that covers the events of com, the only thing com explains that kh 2 doesnt is how the members die specifically.. I find the kh 2 more enjoyable without playing com, but that might just be me

They did discuss rereleasing Coded on the PSP, but no word on that so far. I do agree the splitting possible canon games over the span of three different gaming consoles is total BS. It took them four years, FOUR years to continue the first game, which a few small references to CoM, and who knows how many more until III comes out(which supposedly won't be its name.)

I agree. Plus Coded is for Japanese cellphones only so far with no intentions of beign sold in US soil.
Another thing that annoys me is how stuff from the handheld games doesn't really get truly acknowledged in the main games. Take CoM's events for KH2 like how they don't try to explain what happened to the rest of the organization. Overall it leads to extremely sloppy and awkward writing. That's not even getting into the Japan only Final Mixes that rectons and adds stuff US fans don't see.

I agreee with everything you've said. This is why I keep telling people to not buy the spin offs and download/watch all the cut scenes subbed or once dubbed on Youtube instead of buying the games.
Like that SE is going to get the message that they can't jerk customers around like that and make their stuff hard to get into for newcomers and downright frustrating for older fans.
The way I see it SE doesn't deserve my money, plus I hate handheld gaming being used like this in clear scam.

Ok I can understand the GBA game and the PSP/DS ones but Mobile Phone Game, ok who really going going to complete that seires but buying all that stuff man I've only played the first one for about a half of a hour (stores games). I want to play them but I don't have that kind of maney. What exacly are Square-exic (probaly spelled wrong) trying to do?

wow you are totally right on this one its a total piss take that they would make us have to go out there and blow money on different formats just to be able to complete 1 series of games. im from the uk and i dont even think we are gonna get coded over here its so stupid the way they are doing this

Couldn't agree more. I was super excited about the sequel to the original game, and got so ticked off having to chase information about the GBA game in between the two PS2 games just to make some sense of the second storyline. I can forgive them for doing that once but NOW THEY'RE DOING IT AGAIN, not on one but THREE different systems?! I give up.
