  • Love this version of the song.

  • @jayposey The sax player is Gary Meek

  • can someone upload the Jaco Version? and the original 1978 version of this song.. I can;t even find it on amazon.com.. maybe itunes..

  • Who is playing the beautiful soprano sax? It sounds like Wayne Shorter.

  • Fantastic, Fantastic-

  • The world would be a better place if this had 5 million views. The same can't be said about many other videos on youtube that have, but don't deserve 1/10th of that view count.

  • Funny thing . Though Hancock is listed on the LP credits, it really doesn; t sound

like Herbie - f.i,. the piano solo after 2..00

    & Average Tyner voicings etc

  • jaco jaco jaco jaco!!!!

  • I absolutely adore this song!!!!

  • ... ya givezzz me such joy with sharing this toone of Flora's, Jaco's and Herbie's ...

  • Where can i find picture/wallpaper showed on 1:48 ?

    I would appreciate any help.

    Cheers

  • @MrAngel999 Please let me know if you find it, great picture!

  • @MrAngel999 i do have a copy of it. it is very rare though

  • @jikyonly

Could you send me? That would be very nice from you. :)

I was looking for that picture for a long time, since i'm Jaco's fan, and i would be very happy if you send me.

    Cheers

  • sublime

  • No offense to this version, but Jaco vocals sounds even better than this.

  • @AveryIam i agree :)

  • @AveryIam -- where do you hear Jaco vocals on this tune ?

  • @durgaaa check this out : Portrait of Jaco - The Early Years

  • @durgaaa watch?v=BIp9_fSK-7w

  • @durgaaa not on this tune. he means the tunes with jaco's voice are better than flora purim's on this one.. try birdland

  • This version of "Las Olas" is with Marcos Silva on piano, and Bob Harrison on bass.

  • I used to work for Jaco. "78-81. This is not Jaco

  • But it's not video.

    ..

BTW Jaco's dad delivered pizza to me once at work in Norristown PA in the early 90's

  • @SuburbanDon Hey that is something worth noting.Did the pizza taste better cos you tipped the world famous bass players father for bringing you food at work no less?

  • shite

  • Why did you put this up as Jaco and herbie when it isn't -- that's ridiculous and it's a lie.

  • one of my favourits albums too.....

  • viva brasil, viva jazz

  • i have this on " evrey day, evrey night." one of my favorite albums!! any got it to post some stuff from it?

  • might as well say: Art Blakey on drums then...

  • absolutely NOT Jaco. Why use his name then?!

  • Neither Jaco nor Herbie, very obvious if you listen. The pianist and bassplayer on this audio is just average players. You can hear it in the vocals as well. Not especially inspired compared to the verision Flora did with Jaco and Herbie on another album.

  • I thaught Jaco doant do sap bass :S:S

  • jaco could have done ANYTHING he wanted

  • well i suppose he couldve, except play bass well

  • nope, jaco don't do sap bass!

  • So beautiful. This version of "Las Olas" is off Flora's album, "The Midnight Sun" (1988), featuring Marcos Silva on piano, and Bob Harrison on bass. The other version of "Las Olas" with Herbie and Jaco is from Flora's "Every Day, Every Night" album (1978).

  • My God, Flora with Jaco and Herbie.........it just doesn't get any better than this. American Idol? What's that?

  • What is the name os this tune?

  • las olas

  • farewell...........Jaco

  • tudo bem, I love it.......

  • How juicy

  • Isso é musica brasileira de verdade !

  • It is from the album " everyday- everynight"- a fantastic LP- at

those times it was one of the favourites of my youth....

I think partially orchestrated by the great late

    Michele Colombier

  • yeah, i love that album aswell!

  • I like very much this song when I listen it feel very relaxed I feel the same listening to the Great gig in the Sky and Humming I love women and their voices

  • What album is this from? I have the version of Jaco singing Floras part but I don't have this.

  • Oh,Oh, accidentally flagged this. I love it! Sorry, I thought flagging was like bookmarking. Please forgive me! How do I undo a "Flag"?

  • its ok.. it is not flagged, you just happened to click the flag button, but u didn't report it

  • Another version of this tune I had not heard before. From whence does this version come?
