@enthnd03. Don't know about Fender, but in gibsons case, the SG has much more high end than the Les Paul, which, in my opinion, makes it a much better guitar. Plus, I find that in terms of physical feel, Les Paul is nightmarish, wheras the SG is pretty decent.

By now all the original ones have turned a off-white cream color. Complete the rig with an original Fender outboard reverb tank and a blackface Showman and you've got the ultimate surf rig.

fuck strats. my dads got one (2009 american standard) and yeah it sounds good but man i hate their feel.

the frets are too far apart, the neck from fret 1-3 are too thick. the neck is too thin on the higher frets. then i cant even get up to the highest few frets without putting my hand in an awkward position. mustangs, jags, and gibsons are 10 times better guitars. end of story

@cody13smith Yeah I bought mine when I was 15, an American 62' Reissue. Took me at least a year and a half to save up for it working at my gas station job. It was well worth it though, I have my dream guitar and I'll love it forever!!

It doesn't matter that Jimi Hendrix saved the strat, strats of today I don't think are nearly as good as the old ones, but what do I know? Not much. For sure no matter what brand, date, model etc... the guitar is you can probably find an excellent or shoddy one it depends on that particular guitar itself and how it turned out.

I thought you were going to say maple. Ive never seen a Jaguar with a maple fretboard. One less pickup and a goofy bridge killed the Jag in the 60s. The only thing to save it was Nirvana.

Kurt's main stage guitar during the "Nevermind" era was a 1965 Fender Jaguar retro fitted with Dimarzio Humbuckers.

During "In utero" he played new Fender Mustangs as his main stage guitars, they, like the Jaguar had replacement pickups.

The only thing the Jaguar and the Mustang have in common is the scale length of the neck, otherwise they are worlds apart, different body shape, different switching, different sound. They aren't remotely similar.
