I have the new album and its exceptional some really amazing songs on it . It shows the real vocal talent of Ms Hadwen at last. Go to i.tunes or Amazon and have a listen ! Oh and not one mention of jesus , god or anything just for the record . I think the term is 'baited breath' and its a shame that whoever you are, have decided to write something which is obviously personal rather than something objective ? why ? half a band ?? what on earth are you talking about ?
@dailystar65 Dear daily star 65, sorry I haven't replied to your comments and messages I don't actually have a computor at home so I only have a limited amount of time. I am a Christian but the songs on the album are not Christian songs although I would be proud if they were, my faith has got me through many troubled times it's a shame you haven't got a faith it really helps. take care, Julie
Message for Julie Hadwen - when I was a wee lass in 1985 I wrote you a fan letter and you actually bothered to reply! I was dead chuffed. Thank you for that!
I was on the taping of totp for this show.I was the cant next to Tony Powell,When He presented Dead or alive, performing "You Spin Me Round " I Think I had on more make-up than Pete Burns back then.lol
Hello all, message from Julie Hadwen, thanks for all your support just to say that my solo album Sanctuary will be available on itunes in a couple of weeks
Hi everybody, message from Julie Hadwen, thanks for all your support, just to let you know my solo album Sanctuary will be available on itunes in a couple of weeks.
I've got their album on cassette in the loft somewhere, its sad that something I loved is now just cast aside. It was a little pocket of time EBTG, Working Week, FYC and all that. It was a a good time to be well groomed! Good job it wasn't grunge as I would have never fitted in don't you know.
when bsa were at the coatham bowl in redcar they were supported by a band called fruits of passion they were pretty good also god i miss bsa the music is pure class.
i used to follow 'The Directions' in the late 70s and early 80s.Tony Burke decided to then turn the band to another Style Council with a female vocal.WHY did he do that his brother John Burke was always the better singer. They should have stayed the good band they was,is it true that they was taken out the charts for rigging there records sales,by getting bulk buying in records shops,by getting people they know to buy 100s at a time, shame if they did.I see martin all the time,
I was the sax player with the Big Sound Authority. It was a great band... we recorded this house (21 in charts) at the Powerplant produced by Robin Miller. Who had just finished Sade's first album. We recorded the album with Greg Walsh, including all other material (Bad town included) he had produced Tina Turner and Heaven 17. We toured supporting The Kane Gang, then did a second tour headlining. Still in touch with Steve Martinez drums, Kevin White trumpet Frank Seago, trombone
they should have NEVER tried to be The Jam they were never in their class.BSA was a great band they didn't need to take off another band. They were liked as they were from their roots from The British Queen,w.12,where we loved to dance to there songs,(directions),to going to the greyhoung,on to the Venue and more.Whats happens to you all?martin junkie, tony still up his arse, thinking hes the lennon of 2000s,he the one who fucked it ALL up,he CAN'T SING.
@dailystar65 i think its really sad for you to abuse the band in this way. Your opinions couldnt be further from the truth. I imagine you are some nobody from shephers bush!
@frbf1000 get yourself out abit more upsetting yourself with a 25yr old album.i,m a signed singer in a band,e-mail through you tube and i,ll give you a couple of tics for our next gig at the hammersmith apollo.I,ve known the BSA boys for 25yrs and loved them like you, calm down and have a night out on us.we are supporting Girls Aloud so it should be a good night, take care no bad feelingsxxx
@flartibartfast you,ve got i wrong darling i don,t sing now i,m nearly 50,i manage a girl band called The Saturdays heared them??? and they are mighty and better than the great GA,what do you do with your life? impress us all lllooollll
@dailystar65 dont know if you will remember me, I was one of your roadies when you did TOTP and The Wogan show on the same day, Steve J, cousin, Jim Webster, also did Camden Palais with you and took some pictures at the Green man when you reformed the new group.....still great sounds, me and wife bopping heads
One of the finest pop songs ever recorded. Happy memories of the 80's and my an aching teenage "crush" (as it used to be called in those days) on the beautiful Julie Hadwin
Weller had BSA, Tracie (Young), A Craze etc on his respond label. The best of the lot were the Questions (who wrote Tracie's biggest hit - and responds biggest hit). Paul Barry of the Questions wrote Cher's monster hit "Believe".
ANYONE GOT ANYTHING BY THE QUESTIONS TO PUT ON HERE?
I had the album on a tape in my car - and after a time it stretched so much on constant replaying of "Bad House" that i couldn't play it any more & i was real pissed off.
I don't know whether they knew just how good they were. Up there with Dexy's, Deacon Blue etc.
Tony Burke was introduced to Julie Hadwen by Weller, after both had applied to ad's for new artists for Respond (Julie replied to the same ad as Tracie Young). BSA had a track "History of the World" on a Respond records compilation album and were offered a record contract but decided to turn it down. They signed for MCA records in 1984 and released This House in 1985, this was their biggest hit. The band split up after releasing3 more singles and an album.
How great to see and hear this again after 20-odd years. I'd forgotten how good it was and what a terrific vocalist the lady in black (Julie, I seem to remember?) was - and I presume still is, wherever she may be. What have they all been doing since?
cannot believe this is on here!! I remember watching this and replaying the video obscene amounts of times. Still brings back fab memories, love it, love it, love it!!!
Recently converted the vinyl of this to mp3 so have been enjoying it all over again. Great to see the performance that made me go out and buy it a gazillion years ago.
I'm so happy that people acknowledge that this is a good song, loved it from the beginning. As for witalit, I see the art of intellectual conversation has not died with this idiot.
Still a good song.I recently found an hits of the 80's Album, this song was on it.I hadn't heard it in all these years. Thanks for putting it on here, really good to see them performing it.
moved in with my girlfriend and we had a vinyl night nothing kinky only 45s and she played this song and i thought it was brilliant, how did i miss this in the 80s now 1 of our songs, thanks who ever put this on!
I've always loved this song. I didn't know the singers name back then but Julie has a great voice. Do you still perform Julie?
