I often can't help but be pessimistic about the future.
This song really makes me feel like I am normal in doing so, and that it is the only way It is going to be good. Everytime I listen to it, it gives me hope!
The optimist in me is glad to be alive to hear Andrew Bird's music. The pessimist in me is depressed to know that one day I'll die and will no longer hear his music.
I always thought it would be cool to see him perform with a big backup band, but the more I thought about it, the more I thought that it would probably take away from his performance rather than add to it. He can have so much control over what is played with just himself and a drummer or whatever and his is a mind that should be in complete control of the performance. One of the best musicians I've ever seen.
he is an incredible musician, the short string length or lack of frets on a violin does not make it a hinderance to someones skill of an instrument, it would not have been used in classical music if that was at all a factor of its playability.
I bought a ticket like five months in advance to see him in october, hes so amazing. Then i went to college for the fall but i couldnt find a ride. Lame.
Saw him live oh... almost two years ago!?!? Time moves fast but anyway.... I've been to seven different concerts, four of them festivals but he has been the best so far( and by far)!
@Day0fTheBaphomets Oh my god, I know. It's nuts. That takes an incredible amount of skill, and with a Violin, which doesn't have frets and has a short string length. He knows exactly what he needs to play, and how he needs to play it in the perfect timing. It's incredible.
there are so many talented artists, so many who can play the instruments that he can, write words like he can, but how many of them have the gusto to say "fuck it, i don't need other people to play my songs," no matter how many damn instruments there are.

hmmm... i never like his live performances. they just seem too 'improvised' (best word i can think of to describe it). just my opinion. i like him better on the cd
I have his recent 3 cds but must say watching him perform takes to a much higher level. Have only seen him on Youtube and hope to see he and dosh perform live.
thank God they finally put this song up. Although I wish they wouldve filmed one where he made his own drum tracks up with his clapping, and he looped his "bum bummm bum's" on the other mic. Either way, amazing.
The combination of Bird's genius, energy, and pure musical ability make him one of the most dynamic live acts around. I hope he continues to collaborate with Martin Dosh; the two have a noticeable connection and they feed off each other's creativity to produce a sound that is simply amazing.
yeah its awesome... SO good... EARGASMS MANY!
