That depends entirely of how much the west abused their influence there when Mubarak was in power. Just remember that the Shah of Iran got into power much thanks to help from outside (you know who). He was far from a saint, although some western media liked to portray him as a man with style. A revolution doesn't happen out of the blue. So after the Shah was deposed in 1979, Ayatollah Khomeini saw his chance to return to Iran.

Whether or not I have been is irrelevant though, and a large portion of my friends are Egyptians, all of whom are in favour of the protests. The main issues are unemployment, lack of freedom of press, lack of basic human rights, and a totalitarian dictatorship which would have passed onto Hosni Mubarak's Son had this revolution not happened.

He was far from a saint, although some western media liked to portray him as a man with style. A revolution doesn't happen out of the blue. So after the Shah was deposed in 1979, Ayatollah Khomeini saw his chance to return to Iran.

I was with the anti-Mubarak crowd until they started looting and stealing from people.
I am glad tha the REAL Egytians formed their own militias and fought these "protesters" back, they scream on t.v. for freedom and what do they do with it??? They bring destruction, theft and chaos, I am glad to see Mubarak back in charge, he should have acted earlier.

@furat190 You are an idiot if you think that the terrible actions of a tiny minority represents all of the mainly peaceful anti-Mubarak protesters. Do you label all muslims terrorists because a tiny amount of idiots blow themselves up? There are more than a million protestors and a couple hundred looters. That is 0.0002%.. now grow up and think like an adult.

I can see that most of you have never even BEEN to Egypt, let alone know ANY issues that are being 'protested'. If you feel so much for the people why don't you protest in North Korea. @furat190 In response to your reply of my statement, I for one have been to Egypt and seen the squalor of suburban Cairo, along with Luxor and Hurghada. Whether or not I have been is irrelevant though, and a large portion of my friends are Egyptians, all of whom are in favour of the protests. The main issues are unemployment, lack of freedom of press, lack of basic human rights, and a totalitarian dictatorship which would have passed onto Hosni Mubarak's Son had this revolution not happened.

@ryangiggsq8 In response to YOU, a "large portion of MY friends" are American, and if they started burning houses in Washington D.C. and looting the Smithsonian Institute, I would not support them in destruction of their own country, its funny now, EVERYONE has that ONE Egyptian friend, like we are Labrador retrievers right? You have one at home, ???? Grown up, if you want to fight unemployment and corruption, do so in your OWN country, stop cheering on the violence in Egypt. It is not needed.

@furat190 Inta wallah ma tifham... mafeesh a7ad 9a7i supporting the violence in Egypt. Peaceful protesting is the only way. The problem is when you have a million people protesting ( I dont think you understand how big a number that is) there are bound to be some idiots in the crowd, along with people who don't support the protest but are criminals and joining in to loot stuff. If, as you believe, the whole crowd is made up of these looters and violent people, Egypt would be in ruins now.
